Job 18
1 Därefter tog Bildad från Sua till orda och sade:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 Huru länge skolen I gå på jakt efter ord? Kommen till förstånd; sedan må vi talas vid.
When will yee make an ende of your words? cause vs to vnderstande, and then wee will speake.
3 Varför skola vi aktas såsom oskäliga djur, räknas i edra ögon såsom ett förstockat folk?
Wherefore are wee counted as beastes, and are vile in your sight?
4 Du som i din vrede sliter sönder dig själv, menar du att dör din skull jorden skall bliva öde och klippan flyttas bort från sin plats?
Thou art as one that teareth his soule in his anger. Shall the earth bee forsaken for thy sake? or the rocke remoued out of his place?
5 Nej, den ogudaktiges ljus skall slockna ut, och lågan av hans eld icke giva något sken.
Yea, the light of the wicked shalbe quenched, and the sparke of his fire shall not shine.
6 Ljuset skall förmörkas i hans hydda, och lampan slockna ut för honom.
The light shalbe darke in his dwelling, and his candle shalbe put out with him.
7 Hans väldiga steg skola stäckas, hans egna rådslag bringa honom på fall.
The steps of his strength shalbe restrained, and his owne counsell shall cast him downe.
8 Ty han rusar med sina fötter in i nätet, försåten lura, där han vandrar fram;
For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares.
9 snaran griper honom om hälen, och gillret tager honom fatt;
The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him.
10 garn till att fånga honom äro lagda på marken och snärjande band på hans stig.
A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.
11 Från alla sidor ängsla honom förskräckelser, de jaga honom, varhelst han går fram.
Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.
12 Olyckan vill uppsluka honom, och ofärd står redo, honom till fall.
His strength shalbe famine: and destruction shalbe readie at his side.
13 Under hans hud frätas hans lemmar bort, ja, av dödens förstfödde bortfrätas hans lemmar.
It shall deuoure the inner partes of his skinne, and the first borne of death shall deuoure his strength.
14 Ur sin hydda, som han förtröstar på, ryckes han bort, och till förskräckelsernas konung vandrar han hän.
His hope shalbe rooted out of his dwelling, and shall cause him to go to the King of feare.
15 I hans hydda får främlingar bo, och svavel utströs över hans boning.
Feare shall dwell in his house (because it is not his) and brimstone shalbe scattered vpon his habitation.
16 Nedantill förtorkas hans rötter, och ovantill vissnar hans krona bort.
His rootes shalbe dryed vp beneath, and aboue shall his branche be cut downe.
17 Hans åminnelse förgås ifrån jorden, hans namn lever icke kvar i världen.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall haue no name in the streete.
18 Från ljus stötes han ned i mörker och förjagas ifrån jordens krets.
They shall driue him out of the light vnto darkenesse, and chase him out of the world.
19 Utan barn och avkomma bliver han i sitt folk, och ingen i hans boningar skall slippa undan.
Hee shall neither haue sonne nor nephewe among his people, nor any posteritie in his dwellings.
20 Över hans ofärdsdag häpna västerns folk, och österns män gripas av rysning.
The posteritie shalbe astonied at his day, and feare shall come vpon the ancient.
21 Ja, så sker det med den orättfärdiges hem, så går det dens hus, som ej vill veta av Gud.
Surely such are the habitations of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
