Jeremia 39
1 -- efter det att Nebukadressar, konungen i Babel, med hela sin här hade kommit till Jerusalem och begynt belägra det i Sidkia, Juda konungs, nionde regeringsår, i tionde månaden,

2 och efter det att staden; hade blivit stormad i Sidkias elfte regeringsår, i fjärde månaden, på nionde dagen månaden
Forsothe in the enleuenthe yeer of Sedechie, in the fourthe monethe, in the fyuethe day of the monethe, the citee was opened;
3 drogo alla den babyloniske konungens furstar därin och stannade i Mellersta porten: nämligen Nergal Sareser, Samgar-Nebo, Sarsekim, överste hovmannen, Nergal-Sareser, överste magern, och alla den babyloniske konungens övriga furstar.
and alle the princes of the kyng of Babiloyne entriden, and saten in the myddil yate, Veregel, Fererer, Semegar, Nabusarrachym, Rapsaces, Neregel, Sereser, Rebynag, and alle othere princes of the kyng of Babiloyne.
4 Och när Sidkia, Juda konung, med allt sitt krigsfolk fick se dem, flydde de och drogo om natten ut ur staden, på den väg som ledde till den kungliga trädgården, genom porten mellan de båda murarna; och han tog vägen bort åt Hedmarken till.
And whanne Sedechie, the kyng of Juda, and alle the men werriouris hadden seien hem, thei fledden, and yeden out bi niyt fro the citee, bi the weie of the gardyn of the kyng, and bi the yate that was bitwixe twei wallis; and thei yeden out to the weie of desert.
5 Men kaldéernas här förföljde dem och de hunno upp Sidkia på Jeriko hedmarker. Och de togo fatt honom och förde honom till Nebukadressar, den babyloniske konungen, i Ribla i Hamats land; där höll denne rannsakning och dom med honom.
Forsothe the oost of Caldeis pursueden hem, and thei token Sedechie in the feeld of wildirnesse of Jericho; and thei token hym, and brouyten to Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, in Reblatha, which is in the lond of Emath; and Nabugodonosor spak domes to hym.
6 Och den babyloniske konungen lät i Ribla slakta Sidkias barn inför hans ögon; också alla andra Juda ädlingar lät konungen i Babel slakta.
And the kyng of Babiloyne killide the sones of Sedechye in Reblatha, bifor hise iyen; and the kyng of Babyloyne killide alle the noble men of Juda.
7 Och på Sidkia själv lät han sticka ut ögonen och lät fängsla honom med kopparfjättrar, för att föra honom till Babel.
Also he puttide out the iyen of Sedechie, and boond hym in feteris, that he schulde be led in to Babiloyne.
8 Och kaldéerna brände upp i eld både konungens hus och folkets hus och bröto ned Jerusalems murar.
And Caldeis brenten with fier the hous of the kyng, and the hous of the comun puple, and distrieden the wal of Jerusalem.
9 Och återstoden av folket, dem som voro kvar i staden, och de över löpare som hade gått över till honom, och vad som för övrigt var kvar av folket, dem förde Nebusaradan, översten för drabanterna, bort till Babel.
And Nabusardan, the maister of knyytis, translatide in to Babiloyne the residues of the puple, that dwelliden in the citee, and the fleeris awei, that hadden fled ouer to hym, and the superflue men of the comyn puple, that weren left.
10 Men av de ringaste bland folket, av dem som ingenting hade, lämnade Nebusaradan, översten för drabanterna, några kvar i Juda land, och gav dem samtidigt vingårdar och åkerfält.
And Nabusardan, the maistir of knyytis, lefte in the lond of Juda, of the puple of pore men, and yaf to hem vyneris and cisternes in that dai.
11 Och Nebukadressar, konungen Babel, gav genom Nebusaradan, översten för drabanterna, befallning angående Jeremia och sade:
Forsothe Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, hadde comaundid of Jeremye to Nabusardan, maister of chyualrie, and seide,
12 "Tag honom och se i honom till godo, och gör honom icke något ont, utan gör med honom efter som han själv begär av dig."
Take thou him, and sette thin iyen on hym, and do thou no thing of yuel to him; but as he wole, so do thou to hym.
13 Då sände Nebusaradan, översten för drabanterna, och Nebusasban, överste hovmannen, och Nergal-Sareser, överste magern, och alla den babyloniske konungens övriga väldige --
Therfor Nabusardan, the prynce of chyualrie, sente Nabu, and Lesban, and Rapsases, and Veregel, and Sereser, and Rebynag, and alle the principal men of the kyng of Babiloyne,
14 dessa sände bort och läto hämta Jeremia ifrån fängelsegården och lämnade honom åt Gedalja, son till Ahikam, son till Safan, på det att denne skulle föra honom hem; så fick han stanna där bland folket.

15 Men HERRENS ord hade kommit till Jeremia, medan han var inspärrad i fängelsegården; han hade sagt:
Forsothe the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, whanne he was closid in the porche of the prisoun, and seide,
16 Gå och säg till etiopiern Ebed-Melek: Så säger HERREN Sebaot, Israels Gud: Se, vad jag har förkunnat, det skall jag låta komma över denna stad, till dess olycka och icke till dess lycka, och det skall uppfyllas i din åsyn på den dagen.
Go thou, and seie to Abdemelech Ethiopien, and speke thou, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal brynge my wordis on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good; and tho schulen be in thi siyt in that dai.
17 Men dig skall jag rädda på den dagen, säger HERREN, och du skall icke bliva given i de mäns hand, som du fruktar för.
And Y schal delyuere thee in that day, seith the Lord, and thou schalt not be bitakun in to the hondis of men, whiche thou dreddist;
18 Ty jag skall förvisso låta dig komma undan, och du skall icke falla för svärd, utan vinna ditt liv såsom ett byte, därför att du har förtröstat på mig, säger HERREN.
but Y delyuerynge schal delyuere thee, and thou schalt not falle doun bi swerd; but thi soule schal be in to helthe to thee, for thou haddist trist in me, seith the Lord.
