Hosea 5
1 Hören detta, I präster, akten härpå, I av Israels hus, och I av konungens hus, lyssnen härtill; ty eder gäller domen. Ty I haven varit en snara för Mispa och ett nät, utbrett på Tabor.
Hear these things, ye priests; and attend, O house of Israel; and hearken, O house of the king; for the controversy is with you, because ye have been a snare in Scopia, and as a net spread on Itabyrium,
2 Mitt under sitt offrande har man sjunkit allt djupare, men jag skall bliva ett tuktoris för allasammans.
which they that hunt the prey have fixed: but I will correct you.
3 Jag känner Efraim, och Israel är icke fördold för mig. Du Efraim, du har ju nu blivit en sköka, Israel har orenat sig.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not far from me: for now Ephraim has gone grievously a-whoring, Israel is defiled.
4 De lägga sig icke vinn om att vända tillbaka till sin Gud, ty en trolöshetens ande bor i deras bröst, och HERREN känna de icke.
They have not framed their counsels to return to their God, for the spirit of fornication is in them, and they have not known the Lord.
5 Men Israels stolthet vittnar emot honom, och Israel och Efraim komma på fall genom sin missgärning; Juda kommer ock på fall jämte dem.
And the pride of Israel shall be brought low before his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquities; and Judas also shall fall with them.
6 Om de än med får och fäkreatur gå åstad för att söka HERREN, så finna de honom ändå icke; han har dragit sig undan från dem.
They shall go with sheep and calves diligently to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them.
7 Mot HERREN hava de handlat trolöst, ja, de hava fött barn som icke äro hans. Därför skall nu en nymånadsdag förtära dem, jämte det som de fingo på sin del.
For they have forsaken the Lord; for strange children have been born to them: now shall the cankerworm devour them and their heritages.
8 Stöten i basun i Gibea, i trumpet i Rama, blåsen larmsignal i Bet-Aven. Fienden är efter dig, Benjamin!
Blow ye the trumpet on the hills, sound aloud on the heights: proclaim in the house of On, Benjamin is amazed.
9 Efraim skall varda ödelagt på straffets dag; mot Israels stammar kungör jag vad visst är.
Ephraim has come to nought in the days of reproof: in the tribes of Israel I have shown faithful [dealings].
10 Juda furstar hava blivit råmärkflyttares likar; över dem skall jag utgjuta min vrede såsom vatten.
The princes of Juda became as they that removed the bounds: I will pour out upon them my fury as water.
11 Efraim lider förtryck, och hans rätt våldföres, ty han har tagit sig till att vandra efter tomma stadgar.
Ephraim altogether prevailed against his adversary, he trod judgment under foot, for he began to go after vanities.
12 Därför är jag nu för Efraim såsom mal och för Juda hus såsom röta i benen.
Therefore I [will be] as consternation to Ephraim, and as a goad to the house of Juda.
13 Och Efraim har märkt sin sjukdom och Juda sitt sår; därför har Efraim gått till Assur och sänt bud till Jarebs-konungen. Men denne skall icke kunna hela eder; edert sår skall icke bliva läkt.
And Ephraim saw his disease, and Judas his pain; then Ephraim went to the Assyrians, and sent ambassadors to king Jarim: but he could not heal you, and your pain shall in nowise cease from you.
14 Ty jag skall vara såsom ett lejon mot Efraim och såsom ett ungt lejon mot Juda hus. Själv griper jag mitt rov och går bort därmed; jag släpar det bort utan räddning.
Wherefore I am as a panther to Ephraim, and as a lion to the house of Juda: and I will tear, and go away; and I will take, and there shall be none to deliver.
15 Jag vill gå min väg, tillbaka till min boning, till dess att de hava fått lida vad de hava förskyllt och begynna söka mitt ansikte.
I will go and return to my place, until they are brought to nought, and [then] shall they seek my face.
