1 Mosebok 28
1 Då kallade Isak till sig Jakob och välsignade honom; och han bjöd honom och sade till honom: "Tag dig icke till hustru någon av Kanaans döttrar,
Than Isaac called Iacob his sonne and blessed him ad charged him and sayde vnto him: se thou take not a wife of the doughters of Canaan
2 utan stå upp och begiv dig till Paddan-Aram, till Betuels, din morfaders, hus, och tag dig en hustru därifrån, någon av Labans, din morbroders, döttrar.
but aryse ad gett the to Mesopotamia to the house of Bethuel thy mothers father: and there take the a wife of the doughters of Laban thi mothers brother.
3 Och må Gud den Allsmäktige välsigna dig och göra dig fruktsam och föröka dig, så att skaror av folk komma av dig;
And God allmightie blesse the increase the and multiplie the that thou mayst be a nombre of people
4 må han giva åt dig Abrahams välsignelse, åt dig och din säd med dig, så att du får taga i besittning det land som Gud har givit åt Abraham, och där du nu bor såsom främling."
and geue the the blessynge of Abraham: both to the and to thy seed with the that thou mayst possesse the lade (wherein thou art a strangere) which God gaue vnto Abraham.
5 Så sände Isak åstad Jakob, och denne begav sig till Paddan-Aram, till araméen Laban, Betuels son, som var broder till Rebecka, Jakobs och Esaus moder.
Thus Isaac sent forth Iacob to goo to Mesopotamia vnto Laban sonne of Bethuel the Sirien and brother to Rebecca Iacobs and Esaus mother.
6 När nu Esau såg att Isak hade välsignat Jakob och sänt honom till Paddan-Aram för att därifrån taga sig hustru -- ty han hade välsignat honom och bjudit honom och sagt: "Du skall icke taga till hustru någon av Kanaans döttrar" --
When Esau sawe that Isaac had blessed Iacob and sent him to Mesopotamia to fett him a wife thence and that as he blessed him he gaue him a charge saynge: se thou take not a wife of the doughters of Canaan:
7 och när han såg att Jakob hade lytt sin fader och moder och begivit sig till Paddan-Aram,
and that Iacob had obeyed his father and mother and was gone vnto Mesopotamia:
8 då märkte Esau att Kanaans döttrar misshagade hans fader Isak;
and seynge also that the doughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father:
9 och Esau gick bort till Ismael och tog Mahalat, Abrahams son Ismaels dotter, Nebajots syster, till hustru åt sig, utöver de hustrur han förut hade.
Then went he vnto Ismael and toke vnto the wiues which he had Mahala the doughter of Ismael Abrahams sonne the sister of Nabaioth to be his wife.
10 Men Jakob begav sig från Beer-Seba på väg till Haran.
Iacob departed from Berseba and went toward Haran
11 Och han kom då till den heliga platsen och stannade där över natten, ty solen hade gått ned; och han tog en av stenarna på platsen för att hava den till huvudgärd och lade sig att sova där.
and came vnto a place and taried there all nyghte because the sonne was downe. And toke a stone of the place and put it vnder his heade and layde him downe in the same place to slepe.
12 Då hade han en dröm. Han såg en stege vara rest på jorden, och dess övre ände räckte upp till himmelen, och Guds änglar stego upp och ned på den.
And he dreamed: and beholde there stode a ladder apon the erth and the topp of it reached vpp to heaue. And se the angells of God went vp and downe apon it
13 Och se, HERREN stod framför honom och sade: "Jag är HERREN, Abrahams, din faders, Gud och Isaks Gud. Det land där du ligger skall jag giva åt dig och din säd.
yee ad the LORde stode apon it and sayde. I am the LORde God of Abraham thi father and the God of Isaac: The londe which thou slepest apon will I geue the and thy seed.
14 Och din säd skall bliva såsom stoftet på jorden, och du skall utbreda dig åt väster och öster och norr och söder, och alla släkter på jorden skola varda välsignade i dig och i din säd.
And thy seed shalbe as the dust of the erth: And thou shalt spreade abrode: west east north and south. And thorow the and thy seed shall all the kynreddes of the erth be blessed.
15 Och se, jag är med dig och skall bevara dig, varthelst du går, och jag skall föra dig tillbaka till detta land; ty jag skall icke övergiva dig, till dess jag har gjort vad jag har lovat dig."
And se I am with the and wylbe thy keper in all places whother thou goost and wyll brynge ye agayne in to this lande: Nether will I leaue the vntill I haue made good all that I haue promysed the.
16 När Jakob vaknade upp ur sömnen sade han: "HERREN är sannerligen på denna plats, och jag visste det icke!"
When Iacob was awaked out of his slepe he sayde: surely the LORde is in this place ad I was not aware.
17 Och han betogs av fruktan och sade: "Detta måste vara en helig plats, här bor förvisso Gud, och här är himmelens port."
And he was afrayde and sayde how fearfull is this place? it is none other but euen the house of God and the gate of heaue.
18 Och bittida om morgonen stod Jakob upp och tog stenen som han hade haft till huvudgärd och reste den till en stod och göt olja därovanpå.
And Iacob stode vp early in the mornynge and toke the stone that he had layde vnder his heade and pitched it vp an ende and poured oyle on the topp of it.
19 Och han gav den platsen namnet Betel; förut hade staden hetat Lus.
And he called the name of the place Bethell for in dede the name of the citie was called Lus before tyme.
20 Och Jakob gjorde ett löfte och sade: "Om Gud är med mig och bevarar mig under den resa som jag nu är stadd på och giver mig bröd till att äta och kläder till att kläda mig med,
And Iacob vowed a vowe saynge: Yf God will be with me and wyll kepe me in this iourney which I goo and will geue me bread to eate and cloothes to put on
21 så att jag kommer i frid tillbaka till min faders hus, då skall HERREN vara min Gud;
so that I come agayne vnto my fathers house in saftie: then shall the LORde be my God
22 och denna sten som jag har rest till en stod skall bliva ett Guds hus, och av allt vad du giver mig skall jag giva dig tionde."
