1 Mosebok 26

1 Men en hungersnöd uppstod i landet, en ny hungersnöd, efter den som hade varit förut, i Abrahams tid. Då begav sig Isak till Abimelek, filistéernas konung, i Gerar.

And there fell a derth in ye lande passinge the first derth yt fell in the dayes of Abraham. Wherfore Isaac went vnto Abimelech kinge of ye Philistias vnto Gerar.

2 Och HERREN uppenbarade sig för honom och sade: "Drag icke ned till Egypten; bo kvar i det land som jag skall säga dig.

The the LORde apeared vnto him and sayde goo not doune in to Egipte but byde in ye land which I saye vnto ye:

3 Stanna såsom främling här i landet; jag skall vara med dig och välsigna dig, ty åt dig och din säd skall jag giva alla dessa länder, och skall hålla den ed som jag har svurit din fader Abraham.

Sogeorne in this lade and I wyll be with ye and wyll blesse ye: for vnto the and vnto thy sede I will geue all these cotreis And I will performe the oothe which I swore vnto Abraha thy father

4 Jag skall göra din säd talrik såsom stjärnorna på himmelen, och jag skall giva åt din säd alla dessa länder; och i din säd skola alla folk på jorden välsigna sig,

and will multiplye thy seed as ye starres of heave and will geue vnto thy seed all these contreis. And thorow thy seed shall all the natios of the erth be blessed

5 därför att Abraham har lyssnat till mina ord och hållit vad jag har bjudit honom hålla, mina bud, mina stadgar och mina lagar."

because yt Abraha harkened vnto mi voyce and kepte mine ordinauces comaudmetes statutes and lawes

6 Så stannade Isak kvar i Gerar.

And Isaac dwelled in Gerar.

7 Och när männen på orten frågade honom om hans hustru, sade han: "Hon är min syster." Han fruktade nämligen för att säga att hon var hans hustru, ty han tänkte: "Männen här på orten kunde då dräpa mig för Rebeckas skull, eftersom hon är så fager att skåda."

And yt me of the place asked hi of his wife and he sayde yt she was his sister: for he feared to calle her his wife lest the me of the place shulde haue kylled hym for hir sake because she was bewtyfull to ye eye.

8 Men när han hade varit där en längre tid, hände sig en gång, då Abimelek, filistéernas konung, blickade ut genom fönstret, att han fick se Isak kärligt skämta med sin hustru Rebecka.

And it happened after he had bene there longe tyme yt Abimelech kinge of ye Philistias loked out at a wyndow and sawe Isaac sportinge with Rebecca his wife.

9 Då kallade Abimelek Isak till sig och sade: "Hon är ju din hustru; huru har du då kunnat säga: 'Hon är min syster'?" Isak svarade honom: "Jag fruktade att jag annars skulle bliva dödad för hennes skull."

And Abimelech sende for Isaac and sayde: se she is of a suertie thi wife and why saydest thou yt she was thi sister? And Isaac saide vnto hi: I thoughte yt I mighte peradventure haue dyed for hir sake.

10 Då sade Abimelek: "Vad har du gjort mot oss! Huru lätt kunde det icke hava skett att någon av folket hade lägrat din hustru? Och så hade du dragit skuld över oss."

The fayde Abimelech: whi hast thou done this vnto vs? one of ye people myght lightely haue lyne by thy wife and so shuldest thou haue broughte synne vpon vs

11 Sedan bjöd Abimelek allt folket och sade: "Den som kommer vid denne man eller vid hans hustru, han skall straffas med döden."

Tha Abimelech charged all his people saynge: he yt toucheth this man or his wife shall surely dye for it.

12 Och Isak sådde där i landet och fick det året hundrafalt, ty HERREN välsignade honom.

And Isaac sowed in yt lade and founde in ye same yere an hudred bushels: for ye LORde blessed hi

13 Och han blev en mäktig man; hans makt blev större och större, så att han till slut var mycket mäktig.

and the man waxed mightye and wet forth and grewe till he was exceadinge great

14 Han ägde så många får och fäkreatur och så många tjänare, att filistéerna begynte avundas honom.

yt he had possessio of shepe of oxe and a myghtie housholde: so yt the Philestians had envy at him:

15 Och alla de brunnar som hans faders tjänare hade grävt i hans fader Abrahams tid, dem hade filistéerna kastat igen och fyllt med grus.

In so moch yt they stopped and fylled vp with erth all the welles which his fathers servauntes dygged in his father Abrahams tyme.

16 Och Abimelek sade till Isak: "Drag bort ifrån oss; ty du har blivit oss alltför mäktig."

Than sayde Abimelech vnto Isaac: gett the fro me for thou art myhhtier then we a greate deale.

17 Då drog Isak bort därifrån och slog upp sitt läger i Gerars dal och bodde där.

Than Isaac departed thense and pitched his tente in the valey Gerar and dwelt there,

18 Och Isak lät åter gräva ut de vattenbrunnar som hade blivit grävda i hans fader Abrahams tid, men som filistéerna efter Abrahams död hade kastat igen; och han gav dem åter de namn som hans fader hade givit dem.

And Isaac digged agayne the welles of water which they dygged in the dayes of Abraha his father which the Philestias had stoppe after ye deth of Abraha and gaue the the same names which hys father gaue the.

19 Och Isaks tjänare grävde i dalen och funno där en brunn med rinnande vatten.

As Isaacs seruautes dygged in the valey they founde a well of springynge water.

20 Men herdarna i Gerar begynte tvista med Isaks herdar och sade: "Vattnet är vårt." Då gav han den brunnen namnet Esek, eftersom de hade kivat med honom.

And the herdme of Gerar dyd stryue with Isaacs herdme saynge: the water is oures Than called he the well Eseck because they stroue with hym.

21 Därefter grävde de en annan brunn, men om den kommo de ock i tvist; då gav han den namnet Sitna.

Than dygged they another well and they stroue for yt also. Therfore called he it Sitena.

22 Sedan begav han sig därifrån till en annan plats och grävde åter en brunn; om den tvistade de icke. Därför gav han denna namnet Rehobot, i det han sade: "Nu har ju HERREN givit oss utrymme, så att vi kunna föröka oss i landet."

And than he departed these and dygged a nother well for the which they stroue not: therfore called he it Rehoboth saige: ye LORde hath now made vs rowme and we are encreased vpo the erth.

23 Sedan drog han därifrån upp till Beer-Seba.

Afterward departed he thece and came to Berseba

24 Och HERREN uppenbarade sig för honom den natten och sade: "Jag är Abrahams, din faders, Gud. Frukta icke, ty jag är med dig, och jag skall välsigna dig och göra din säd talrik, för min tjänare Abrahams skull."

And the LORde apered vnto hi the same nyghte and sayde. I am the God of Abraha thy father feare not for I am with the and will blesse the and multiplye thy sede for my seruaute Abrahams sake.

25 Då byggde han där ett altare och åkallade HERRENS namn och slog där upp sitt tält. Och Isaks tjänare grävde där en brunn.

And than he buylded an aulter there and called vpo the name of the LORde and there pitched his tente. And there Isaacs servauntes dygged a well.

26 Och Abimelek begav sig till honom från Gerar med Ahussat, sin vän, och Pikol, sin härhövitsman.

Than came Abimelech to him fro Gerar and Ahusath his frende and Phicol his chefe captayne.

27 Men Isak sade till dem: "Varför kommen I till mig, I som haten mig och haven drivit mig ifrån eder?"

And Isaac sayde vnto the: wherfore come ye to me seige ye hate me and haue put me awaye fro you?

28 De svarade: "Vi hava tydligt sett att HERREN är med dig; därför tänkte vi: 'Låt oss giva varandra en ed, vi och du, så att vi sluta ett förbund med dig,

Than sayde they: we sawe that the LORde was with the and therfore we sayde that there shulde be an oothe betwixte vs ad the and that we wolde make a bonde with the:

29 att du icke skall göra oss något ont, likasom vi å vår sida icke hava kommit vid dig, och likasom vi icke hava gjort dig annat än gott och hava låtit dig fara i frid.' Du är nu HERRENS välsignade."

yt thou shuldeste do vs no hurte as we haue not touched the and haue done vnto the nothinge but good and sed the awaye in peace: for thou art now the blessed of the LORde.

30 Då gjorde han ett gästabud för dem, och de åto och drucko.

And he made the a feast and they ate ad droke.

31 Bittida följande morgon svuro de varandra eden; sedan lät Isak dem gå, och de foro ifrån honom i frid.

And they rose vp by tymes in the mornynge and sware one to another. And Isaac sent the awaye. And they departed from him in peace.

32 Samma dag kommo Isaks tjänare och berättade för honom om den brunn som de hade grävt och sade till honom: "Vi hava funnit vatten."

And ye same daye came Isaacs servautes and tolde hi of a well which they had dygged: and sayde vnto hi that thei had founde water.

33 Och han kallade den Sibea. Därav heter staden Beer-Seba ännu i dag.

And he called it Seba wherfore the name of the cyte is called Berseba vnto this daye.

34 När Esau var fyrtio år gammal, tog han till hustrur Judit, dotter till hetiten Beeri, och Basemat, dotter till hetiten Elon.

When Esau was. xl. yere olde he toke to wyfe Judith the doughter of Bely an Hethite and Busmath the doughter of Elon an Hethite

35 Men dessa blevo en hjärtesorg för Isak och Rebecka.

also which were dishobedient vnto Isaac and Rebecca.
