2 Mosebok 8

1 Därefter sade HERREN till Mose: "Gå till Farao och säg till honom: Så säger HERREN: Släpp mitt folk, så att de kunna hålla gudstjänst åt mig.

And YHWH says to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, and you have said to him, Thus said YHWH: Send My people away, and they serve Me;

2 Men om du icke vill släppa dem, se, då skall jag hemsöka hela ditt land med paddor.

and if you are refusing to send [them] away, behold, I am striking all your border with frogs;

3 Nilfloden skall frambringa ett vimmel av paddor, och de skola stiga upp och komma in i ditt hus och i din sovkammare och upp i din säng, och in i dina tjänares hus och bland ditt folk, och i dina bakugnar och baktråg.

and the River has teemed [with] frogs, and they have gone up and gone into your house, and into the inner-chamber of your bed, and on your couch, and into the house of your servants, and among your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading-troughs;

4 Ja, på dig själv och ditt folk och alla dina tjänare skola paddorna stiga upp."

indeed, on you, and on your people, and on all your servants the frogs go up.”

5 Och HERREN sade till Mose: "Säg till Aron: Räck ut din hand med din stav över strömmarna, kanalerna och sjöarna, och låt så paddor stiga upp över Egyptens land."

And YHWH says to Moses, “Say to Aaron, Stretch out your hand, with your rod, against the streams, against the rivers, and against the ponds, and cause the frogs to come up against the land of Egypt.”

6 Då räckte Aron ut sin hand över Egyptens vatten, och paddor stego upp och övertäckte Egyptens land.

And Aaron stretches out his hand against the waters of Egypt, and the frog comes up, and covers the land of Egypt;

7 Men spåmännen gjorde detsamma genom sina hemliga konster och läto paddor stiga upp över Egyptens land.

and the enchanters do so with their secrets, and cause the frogs to come up against the land of Egypt.

8 Då kallade Farao Mose och Aron till sig och sade: "Bedjen till HERREN, att han tager bort paddorna från mig och mitt folk, så skall jag släppa folket, så att de kunna offra åt HERREN."

And Pharaoh calls for Moses and for Aaron and says, “Make supplication to YHWH, that he may turn aside the frogs from me, and from my people, and I send the people away, and they sacrifice to YHWH.”

9 Mose sade till Farao: "Dig vare tillstatt att förelägga mig en tid inom vilken jag, genom att bedja för dig och dina tjänare och ditt folk, skall skaffa bort paddorna från dig och dina hus, så att de finnas kvar allenast i Nilfloden.

And Moses says to Pharaoh, “Beautify yourself over me; when do I make supplication for you, and for your servants, and for your people, to cut off the frogs from you and from your houses—only in the River they remain?”

10 Han svarade: "Till i morgon." Då sade han: "Må det ske såsom du har sagt, så att du får förnimma att ingen är såsom HERREN, vår Gud.

And he says, “Tomorrow.” And he says, “According to your word [it is], so that you know that there is none like our God YHWH,

11 Paddorna skola vika bort ifrån dig och dina hus och ifrån dina tjänare och ditt folk och skola finnas kvar allenast i Nilfloden."

and the frogs have turned aside from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people; only in the River they remain.”

12 Så gingo Mose och Aron ut ifrån Farao. Och Mose ropade till HERREN om hjälp mot paddorna som han hade låtit komma över Farao.

And Moses—Aaron also—goes out from Pharaoh, and Moses cries to YHWH concerning the matter of the frogs which He has set on Pharaoh;

13 Och HERREN gjorde såsom Mose hade begärt: paddorna dogo och försvunno ifrån husen, gårdarna och fälten.

and YHWH does according to the word of Moses, and the frogs die out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields,

14 Och man kastade dem tillsammans i högar, här en och där en; och landet uppfylldes av stank.

and they heap them up together, and the land stinks.

15 Men när Farao såg att han hade fått lättnad, tillslöt han sitt hjärta och hörde icke på dem, såsom HERREN hade sagt.

And Pharaoh sees that there has been a respite, and he has hardened his heart, and has not listened to them, as YHWH has spoken.

16 Därefter sade HERREN till Mose: "Säg till Aron: Räck ut din stav och slå i stoftet på jorden, så skall därav bliva mygg i hela Egyptens land."

And YHWH says to Moses, “Say to Aaron, Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, and it has become gnats in all the land of Egypt.”

17 Och de gjorde så: Aron räckte ut sin hand med sin stav och slog i stoftet på jorden; då kom mygg på människor och boskap. Av allt stoft på marken blev mygg i hela Egyptens land.

And they do so, and Aaron stretches out his hand with his rod, and strikes the dust of the land, and the gnats are on man and on beast; all the dust of the land has been gnats in all the land of Egypt.

18 Och spåmännen ville göra detsamma genom sina hemliga konster och försökte skaffa fram mygg, men de kunde icke. Och myggen kom på människor och boskap.

And the enchanters do so with their secrets, to bring out the gnats, and they have not been able, and the gnats are on man and on beast;

19 Då sade spåmännen till Farao: "Detta är Guds finger." Men Faraos hjärta förblev förstockat, och han hörde icke på dem, såsom HERREN hade sagt.

and the enchanters say to Pharaoh, “It [is] the finger of God”; and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he has not listened to them, as YHWH has spoken.

20 Därefter sade HERREN till Mose: "Träd i morgon bittida fram inför Farao -- han går nämligen då ut till vattnet -- och säg till honom: så säger HERREN: Släpp mitt folk, så att de kunna hålla guds tjänst åt mig.

And YHWH says to Moses, “Rise early in the morning, and station yourself before Pharaoh, behold, he is going out to the waters, and you have said to him, Thus said YHWH: Send My people away, and they serve Me;

21 Ty om du icke släpper mitt folk, de, då skall jag sända svärmar av flugor över dig och dina tjänare och ditt folk och dina hus, så att egyptiernas hus skola bliva uppfyllda av flugsvärmar, ja, själva marken på vilken de stå.

for if you are not sending My people away, behold, I am sending against you, and against your servants, and against your people, and against your houses, the beetle, and the houses of the Egyptians have been full of the beetle, and also the ground on which they are.

22 Men på den dagen skall jag göra ett undantag för landet Gosen, där mitt folk bor, så att inga flugsvärmar skola finnas där, på det att du må förnimma att jag är HERREN här i landet.

And I have separated in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people are staying, that the beetle is not there, so that you know that I [am] YHWH in the midst of the land,

23 Så skall jag förlossa mitt folk och göra en åtskillnad mellan mitt folk och ditt. I morgon skall detta tecken ske."

and I have put a division between My people and your people; this sign is tomorrow.”

24 Och HERREN gjorde så: stora flugsvärmar kommo in i Faraos och i hans tjänares hus; och överallt i Egypten blev landet fördärvat av flugsvärmarna.

And YHWH does so, and the grievous beetle enters the house of Pharaoh, and the house of his servants, and in all the land of Egypt the land is corrupted from the presence of the beetle.

25 Då kallade Farao Mose och Aron till sig och sade: "Gån åstad och offren åt eder Gud här i landet."

And Pharaoh calls to Moses and to Aaron and says, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land”;

26 Men Mose svarade: "Det går icke an att vi göra så; ty vi offra åt HERREN, vår Gud, sådant som för egyptierna är en styggelse. Om vi nu inför egyptiernas ögon offra sådant som för dem är en styggelse, skola de säkert stena oss.

and Moses says, “[It is] not right to do so—for us to sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to our God YHWH; behold, we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes—and they do not stone us!

27 Så låt oss nu gå tre dagsresor in i öknen och offra åt HERREN, vår Gud, såsom han befaller oss."

We go a journey of three days into the wilderness and have sacrificed to our God YHWH as He says to us.”

28 Då sade Farao: "Jag vill släppa eder, så att I kunnen offra åt HERREN, eder Gud, i öknen; allenast mån I icke gå alltför långt bort. Bedjen för mig.

And Pharaoh says, “I send you away, and you have sacrificed to your God YHWH in the wilderness, only do not go very far off; make supplication for me”;

29 Mose svarade: "Ja, när jag kommer ut från dig, skall jag bedja till HERREN, så att flugsvärmarna i morgon vika bort ifrån Farao, ifrån hans tjänare och hans folk. Allenast må Farao icke mer handla svikligt och vägra att släppa folket, så att de kunna offra åt HERREN.

and Moses says, “Behold, I am going out from you, and have made supplication to YHWH, and tomorrow the beetle has turned aside from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; only, do not let Pharaoh add to deceive in not sending the people away to sacrifice to YHWH.”

30 Och Mose gick ut ifrån Farao och bad till HERREN.

And Moses goes out from Pharaoh, and makes supplication to YHWH,

31 Och HERREN gjorde såsom Mose sade begärt: han skaffade bort flugsvärmarna ifrån Farao, ifrån hans tjänare och hans folk, så att icke en enda fluga blev kvar.

and YHWH does according to the word of Moses, and turns aside the beetle from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people—there has not been one left;

32 Men Farao tillslöt sitt hjärta också denna gång och släppte icke folket.

and Pharaoh also hardens his heart at this time, and has not sent the people away.
