Sakaria 7
1 Och i konung Darejaves' fjärde regeringsår hände sig att HERRENS ord kom till Sakarja, på fjärde dagen i nionde månaden, det är Kisleu.
And it cometh to pass, in the fourth year of Darius the king hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, in the fourth of the ninth month, in Chisleu.
2 Ty från Betel hade då Sareser och Regem-Melek med sina män blivit sända för att bönfalla inför HERREN;
And Beth-El sendeth Sherezer and Regem-Melech, and its men, to appease the face of Jehovah,
3 de skulle nämligen fråga prästerna i HERREN Sebaots hus och profeterna sålunda: »Skola vi framgent hålla gråtodag och späka oss i femte månaden, såsom vi hava gjort nu i så många år?»
speaking unto the priests who [are] at the house of Jehovah of Hosts, and unto the prophets, saying, 'Do I weep in the fifth month — being separated — as I have done these so many years?'
4 Så kom då HERREN Sebaots ord till mig; han sade:
And there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts unto me, saying:
5 Säg till allt folket i landet och till prästerna: När I nu under sjuttio år haven hållit faste- och klagodagar i femte och i sjunde månaden, har det då varit åt mig som I haven hållit fasta?
'Speak unto all the people of the land, and unto the priests, saying:
6 Och när I äten och dricken, är det icke då för eder egen räkning som I äten och dricken?
When ye fasted with mourning in the fifth and in the seventh [months] — even these seventy years — did ye keep the fast [to] Me — Me? And when ye eat, and when ye drink, is it not ye who are eating, and ye who are drinking?
7 Haven I icke förnummit de ord som HERREN lät predika genom forna tiders profeter, medan Jerusalem ännu tronade i god ro med sina städer omkring sig, och medan Sydlandet och Låglandet ännu voro bebodda?
'Are not [these] the words that Jehovah proclaimed by the hand of the former prophets, in Jerusalem's being inhabited, and [in] safety, and its cities round about it, and the south and the plain — abiding?'
8 Vidare kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja; han sade:
And there is a word of Jehovah unto Zechariah, saying:
9 Så sade ju HERREN Sebaot: »Dömen rätta domar, och bevisen varandra kärlek och barmhärtighet.
'Thus spake Jehovah of Hosts, saying: True judgment judge ye, And kindness and mercy do one with another.
10 Förtrycken icke änkan och den faderlöse, främlingen och den fattige, och tänken icke i edra hjärtan ut ont mot varandra.»
And widow, and fatherless, Sojourner, and poor, ye do not oppress, And the calamity of one another ye do not devise in your heart.
11 Men de ville icke akta därpå, utan spjärnade emot i gensträvighet och tillslöto sina öron för att slippa att höra.
And they refuse to attend, And they give a refractory shoulder, And their ears have made heavy against hearing.
12 ja, de gjorde sina hjärtan hårda såsom diamant, för att slippa att höra den lag och de ord som HERREN Sebaot genom sin Ande hade sänt, förmedelst forna tiders profeter. Därför utgick stor vrede från HERREN Sebaot.
And their heart they have made adamant, Against hearing the law, and the words, That Jehovah of Hosts sent by His Spirit, By the hand of the former prophets, And their is great wrath from Jehovah of Hosts.
13 Och det skedde, att likasom de icke hade velat höra, när han ropade, så sade nu HERREN Sebaot: »Jag vill icke höra, när de ropa;
And it cometh to pass, as He called, And they have not hearkened, So do they call, and I do not hearken, Said Jehovah of Hosts.
14 utan jag skall förströ dem såsom genom en stormvind bland allahanda hednafolk som de icke känna.» Så har nu landet blivit öde efter dem, så att ingen färdas där, vare sig fram eller tillbaka; ty de hava så gjort det ljuvliga landet till en ödemark.
And I toss them on all the nations, That they have not known, The land hath been desolate behind them, Of any passing by and turning back, And they set a desirable land for a desolation!
