Psaltaren 9
1 För sångmästaren, till Mutlabbén; en psalm av David. Jag vill tacka HERREN av allt mitt hjärta; jag vill förtälja alla dina under.
“To the chief musician upon Muthlabben, a psalm of David.” I will thank the Lord with all my heart: I will relate all thy marvelous deeds.
2 Jag vill vara glad och fröjdas i dig, jag vill lovsjunga ditt namn, du den Högste.
I will rejoice and exult in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High:
3 Ty mina fiender vika tillbaka, de falla och förgås för ditt ansikte.
When my enemies are turned backward, [when] they fall and perish at thy presence.
4 Ja, du har utfört min rätt och min sak; du sitter på din tron såsom en rättfärdig domare.
For thou hast conducted my dispute and my cause; thou hast sat on the throne as a righteous judge.
5 Du har näpst hedningarna och förgjort de ogudaktiga; deras namn har du utplånat för alltid och evinnerligen.
Thou hast rebuked nations, thou hast caused the wicked to perish, their name hast thou blotted out for ever and ever.
6 Fienderna äro nedgjorda, utrotade för alltid; deras städer har du omstörtat, deras åminnelse har förgåtts.
O thou enemy, the ruins are passed away for ever, and the cities which thou hast destroyed, —lost is their memorial, yea, theirs.
7 Men HERREN tronar evinnerligen, sin stol har han berett till doms;
But the Lord will sit enthroned for ever: he hath established for giving judgment his throne.
8 och han skall döma jordens krets med rättfärdighet, han skall skipa lag bland folken med rättvisa.
And he will judge the world with righteousness, he shall decide for the people, with equity.
9 Så vare då HERREN en borg för den förtryckte, en borg i nödens tider.
The Lord also will be a strong-hold for the oppressed, a strong-hold in times of distress.
10 Och må de som känna ditt namn förtrösta på dig; ty du övergiver icke dem som söka dig, HERRE.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; for thou hast not forsaken those that seek thee, O Lord.
11 Lovsjungen HERREN, som bor i Sion, förkunnen bland folken hans gärningar.
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwelleth in Zion: announce among the people his deeds.
12 Ty han som utkräver blodskulder har kommit ihåg dem; han har icke förgätit de betrycktas klagorop.
For he, that inquireth after acts of blood, hath remembered them: he hath not forgotten the cry of the afflicted.
13 Var mig nådig, HERRE; se huru jag plågas av dem som hata mig, du som lyfter mig upp från dödens portar;
Be gracious unto me, O Lord; have regard to my affliction [coming] from those that hate me, thou who liftest me up from the gates of death:
14 på det att jag må förtälja allt ditt lov och i dottern Sions portar fröjda mig över din frälsning.
In order that I may relate all thy praises in the gates of the daughters of Zion: I will be glad in thy salvation.
15 Hedningarna hava sjunkit ned i den grav som de grävde; i det nät som de lade ut har deras fot blivit fångad.
Sunk are nations in the ditch that they have prepared: in this net which they had laid in secret is their own foot caught.
16 HERREN har gjort sig känd, han har hållit dom; han snärjer den ogudaktige i hans händers verk. Higgajón. (Sela)
The Lord is made known: he executed justice: through the doing of his own hands is the wicked ensnared. Higgayon, (Selah)
The wicked shall return into hell, all the nations that are forgetful of God. (Sheol h7585)
18 Ty icke för alltid skall den fattige vara förgäten, de betrycktas hopp skall ej varda om intet evinnerligen.
For not everlastingly shall the needy be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
19 Stå upp, HERRE; låt icke människor få överhanden, låt hedningarna bliva dömda inför ditt ansikte.
Arise, O Lord; let not the mortal boast of his strength; let nations be judged before thy face.
20 Låt, o HERRE, förskräckelse komma över dem; må hedningarna förnimma att de äro människor. (Sela)
Place, O Lord, fear over them: let nations know, that they are but mortals. (Selah)
