< Psaltaren 76 >

1 För sångmästaren, med strängaspel; en psalm, en sång av Asaf.
In Judah God is known. His name is great in Israel.
2 Gud är känd i Juda, i Israel är hans namn stort;
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling-place in Zion.
3 i Salem vart hans hydda rest och hans boning på Sion.
There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Selah)
4 Där bröt han sönder bågens ljungeldar, sköld och svärd och vad till kriget hör. (Sela)
Thou are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
5 Full av ljus och härlighet går du fram ifrån segerbytenas berg.
The stouthearted are made a spoil. They have slept their sleep, and none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 De stormodiga äro avväpnade, de hava slumrat in och sova; alla stridsmännen hava måst låta händerna falla.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
7 För din näpst, du Jakobs Gud, ligga domnade både man och häst.
Thou, even thou, are to be feared. And who may stand in thy sight when once thou are angry?
8 Du, du är fruktansvärd; vem kan bestå inför dig, när du vredgas?
Thou caused sentence to be heard from heaven. The earth feared and was still
9 Från himmelen lät du höra din dom; då förskräcktes jorden och vart stilla,
when God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. (Selah)
10 då när Gud stod upp till dom, till att frälsa alla ödmjuka på jorden. (Sela)
Surely the inward thought of man shall praise thee, even the residue of inward thought will observe a festival to thee.
11 Ty människors vrede varder dig till pris; du har vrede till övers att omgjorda dit med.
Vow, and pay to Jehovah your God. Let all who are round about him bring presents to him who ought to be feared.
12 Gören löften och infrien dem åt HERREN, eder Gud; alla de som äro omkring honom bäre fram skänker åt den Fruktansvärde. Ty han stäcker furstarnas övermod; fruktansvärd är han för konungarna på jorden.
He will cut off the spirit of rulers. He is fearful to the kings of the earth.
