Psaltaren 70

1 För sångmästaren; av David, till åminnelse.

“To the chief musician, by David, to bring to remembrance.” O God, [arise] to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me.

2 Gud, kom till min räddning; HERRE, skynda till min hjälp.

Let those that seek after my life be made ashamed and put to the blush: let those that desire my unhappiness be turned backward and put to confusion.

3 Må de komma på skam och varda utskämda, som stå efter mitt liv; må de vika tillbaka och blygas, som önska min ofärd.

Let them be turned backward in consequence of their shame, that say, Aha, aha.

4 Må de vända tillbaka i sin skam, som säga: »Rätt så, rätt så!»

Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, God is great.

5 Men alla de som söka dig må fröjdas och vara glada i dig; och de som åstunda din frälsning säge alltid: »Lovad vare Gud!» Jag är betryckt och fattig; Gud, skynda till mig. Min hjälp och min befriare är du; HERRE, dröj icke.

But I am poor and needy, O God: come hastily unto me; my help and my deliverer art thou: O Lord, do not delay.
