1 För sångmästaren, till Jedutun; en psalm av David.
For the chief musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I wait in silence for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
2 Allenast hos Gud söker min själ sin ro; från honom kommer min frälsning.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
3 Allenast han är min klippa och min frälsning, min borg, jag skall ej mycket vackla.
How long, all of you, will you attack a man, that you may tip him over like a leaning wall or a shaky fence?
4 Huru länge viljen I rasa mot denne man, samfällt slå honom ned, såsom vore han en lutande vägg, en sönderbräckt mur?
They consult with him only to bring him down from his honorable position; they love to tell lies; they bless him with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse him. (Selah)
5 De rådslå allenast om att stöta honom ned från hans höjd, de hava behag till lögn; med munnen välsigna de, men i sitt innersta förbanna de. (Sela)
I wait in silence for God alone; for my hope is set on him.
6 Allenast i Gud må du hava din ro, min själ; ty från honom kommer mitt hopp.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be moved.
7 Allenast han är min klippa och min frälsning, min borg, jag skall icke vackla.
With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge are in God.
8 Hos Gud är min frälsning och min ära; min starka klippa, min tillflykt har jag i Gud.
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)
9 Förtrösta på honom alltid, du folk; utgjuten för honom edra hjärtan. Gud är vår tillflykt. (Sela)
Surely men of low standing are vanity, and men of high standing are a lie; they will weigh lightly in the scales; weighed together, they are lighter than nothing.
10 Allenast ett intet äro människors barn, myndiga herrar fåfänglighet; i vågskålen äro de för lätta, mindre än intet äro de allasammans.
Do not trust in oppression or robbery; and do not hope uselessly in riches, for they will bear no fruit; do not fix your heart on them.
11 Förliten eder icke på orätt vinning, sätten icke ett fåfängligt hopp till rov: om ock eder rikedom växer, så akten icke därpå.
God has spoken once, twice have I heard this: power belongs to God.
12 En gång har Gud sagt det, ja, två gånger har jag hört det, att hos Gud är makten; och hos dig, Herre, är nåd. Ty du vedergäller var och en efter hans gärningar.
Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness, for you pay back every person for what he has done.
