1 Icke åt oss, HERRE, icke åt oss, utan åt ditt namn giv äran, för din nåds, för din sannings skull.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name let glory be given, because of your mercy and your unchanging faith.
2 Varför skulle hedningarna få säga: »Var är nu deras Gud?»
Why may the nations say, Where is now their God?
3 Vår Gud är ju i himmelen; han kan göra allt vad han vill.
But our God is in heaven: he has done whatever was pleasing to him.
4 Men deras avgudar äro silver och guld, verk av människohänder.
Their images are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
5 De hava mun och tala icke, de hava ögon och se icke,
They have mouths, but no voice; they have eyes, but they see not;
6 de hava öron och höra icke, de hava näsa och lukta icke.
They have ears, but no hearing; they have noses, but no sense of smell;
7 Med sina händer taga de icke, med sina fötter gå de icke; de hava intet ljud i sin strupe.
They have hands without feeling, and feet without power of walking; and no sound comes from their throat.
8 De som hava gjort dem skola bliva dem lika, ja, alla som förtrösta på dem.
Those who make them are like them; and so is everyone who puts his faith in them.
9 I av Israel, förtrösten på HERREN. Ja, han är deras hjälp och sköld.
O Israel, have faith in the Lord: he is their help and their breastplate.
10 I av Arons hus, förtrösten på HERREN. Ja, han är deras hjälp och sköld.
O house of Aaron, have faith in the Lord: he is their help and their breastplate.
11 I som frukten HERREN, förtrösten på HERREN. Ja, han är deras hjälp och sköld.
You worshippers of the Lord, have faith in the Lord: he is their help and their breastplate.
12 HERREN har tänkt på oss, han skall välsigna, han skall välsigna Israels hus, han skall välsigna Arons hus,
The Lord has kept us in mind and will give us his blessing; he will send blessings on the house of Israel and on the house of Aaron.
13 han skall välsigna dem som frukta HERREN, de små såväl som de stora.
He will send blessings on the worshippers of the Lord, on the small and on the great.
14 Ja, HERREN föröke eder, seder själva och edra barn.
May the Lord give you and your children still greater increase.
15 Varen välsignade av HERREN, av honom som har gjort himmel och jord.
May you have the blessing of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
16 Himmelen är HERRENS himmel, och jorden har han givit åt människors barn.
The heavens are the Lord's; but the earth he has given to the children of men.
17 De döda prisa icke HERREN, ingen som har farit ned i det tysta.
The dead do not give praise to the Lord; or those who go down to the underworld.
18 Men vi, vi skola lova HERREN från nu och till evig tid. Halleluja! Se Frukta Gud i Ordförkl.
But we will give praise to the Lord now and for ever. Praise be to the Lord.
