Domarboken 11
1 Gileaditen Jefta var en tapper stridsman, men han var son till en sköka; och Jeftas fader var Gilead.
And Jephthah the Gileadite he was a mighty [man] of strength and he [was] [the] son of a woman a prostitute and he fathered Gilead Jephthah.
2 Nu födde ock Gileads hustru honom söner; och när dessa hans hustrus söner hade växt upp, drevo de ut Jefta och sade till honom: »Du skall icke taga arv i vår faders hus, ty du är son till en kvinna som icke är hans hustru.»
And she bore [the] wife of Gilead to him sons and they grew up [the] sons of the wife and they drove out Jephthah and they said to him not you will have an inheritance in [the] house of father our for [are] [the] son of a woman another you.
3 Då flydde Jefta bort ifrån sina bröder och bosatte sig i landet Tob; där sällade sig löst folk till Jefta och gjorde strövtåg med honom.
And he fled Jephthah [away] from before brothers his and he dwelt in [the] land of Tob and they joined themselves to Jephthah men unprincipled and they went out with him.
4 Någon tid därefter gåvo Ammons barn sig i strid med Israel.
And it was from days and they fought [the] people of Ammon with Israel.
5 Men när Ammons barn gåvo sig i strid med Israel, gingo de äldste i Gilead åstad för att hämta Jefta från landet Tob
And it was just when they fought [the] people of Ammon with Israel and they went [the] elders of Gilead to fetch Jephthah from [the] land of Tob.
6 Och de sade till Jefta: »Kom och bliv vår anförare, så vilja vi strida mot Ammons barn.»
And they said to Jephthah come! and you will become of us a commander so let us fight against [the] people of Ammon.
7 Men Jefta svarade de äldste i Gilead: »I haven ju hatat mig och drivit mig ut ur min faders hus. Huru kunnen I då nu, när I ären i nöd, komma till mig?»
And he said Jephthah to [the] elders of Gilead ¿ not you did you hate me and did you drive out? me from [the] house of father my and why? have you come to me now just when [is] distress to you.
8 De äldste i Gilead sade till Jefta: »Just därför hava vi nu kommit tillbaka till dig, och du måste gå med oss och strida mot Ammons barn; ty du skall bliva hövding över oss, alla Gileads inbyggare.»
And they said [the] elders of Gilead to Jephthah therefore now we have returned to you and you will come with us and you will fight against [the] people of Ammon and you will become of us chief of all [the] inhabitants of Gilead.
9 Jefta svarade de äldste i Gilead: »Om I nu fören mig tillbaka för att strida mot Ammons barn och HERREN giver dem i mitt våld, så vill jag ock sedan vara eder hövding.»
And he said Jephthah to [the] elders of Gilead if [are] bringing back you me to fight against [the] people of Ammon and he will deliver up Yahweh them before me I I will become of you chief.
10 Då sade de äldste i Gilead till Jefta: »HERREN höre vårt avtal. Förvisso skola vi låta det bliva så om du har sagt.»
And they said [the] elders of Gilead to Jephthah Yahweh he will be hearing between us if not according to word your so we will do.
11 Så gick då Jefta med de äldste i Gilead, och folket satte honom till hövding och anförare över sig. Och Jefta uttalade inför HERREN i Mispa allt vad han hade sagt.
And he went Jephthah with [the] elders of Gilead and they made the people him over them into chief and into commander and he spoke Jephthah all words his before Yahweh in Mizpah.
12 Och Jefta skickade sändebud till Ammons barns konung och lät säga: »Vad har du med mig att göra, eftersom du har kommit emot mig och angripit mitt land?»
And he sent Jephthah messengers to [the] king of [the] people of Ammon saying what? [is] to me and to you that you have come to me to wage war against land my.
13 Då svarade Ammons barns konung Jeftas sändebud: »När Israel drog upp från Egypten, togo de ju mitt land från Arnon ända till Jabbok och till Jordan; så giv mig nu detta tillbaka i godo.»
And he said [the] king of [the] people of Ammon to [the] messengers of Jephthah that it took Israel land my when came up it from Egypt from [the] Arnon and to the Jabbok and to the Jordan and therefore restore! them in peace.
14 Åter skickade Jefta sändebud till Ammons barns konung
And he repeated again Jephthah and he sent messengers to [the] king of [the] people of Ammon.
15 och lät säga till honom: »Så säger Jefta: Israel har icke tagit något land vare sig från Moab eller från Ammons barn.
And he said to him thus he says Jephthah not it has taken Israel [the] land of Moab and [the] land of [the] people of Ammon.
16 Ty när de drogo upp från Egypten och Israel hade tågat genom öknen ända till Röda havet och sedan kommit till Kades,
That when came up they from Egypt and it went Israel in the wilderness to [the] sea of reed[s] and it came Kadesh towards.
17 skickade Israel sändebud till konungen i Edom och lät säga: 'Låt mig tåga genom ditt land.' Men konungen i Edom hörde icke därpå. De skickade ock till konungen i Moab, men denne ville icke heller Då stannade Israel i Kades.
And it sent Israel messengers - to [the] king of Edom - saying let me pass please in land your and not he listened [the] king of Edom and also to [the] king of Moab it sent and not he was willing and it remained Israel at Kadesh.
18 Därefter tågade de genom öknen och gingo omkring Edoms land och Moabs land och kommo öster om Moabs land och lägrade sig på andra sidan Arnon; de kommo icke in på Moabs område, ty Arnon är Moabs gräns.
And it went in the wilderness and it went around [the] land of Edom and [the] land of Moab and it came from [the] rising of [the] sun of [the] land of Moab and they encamped! on [the] other side of [the] Arnon and not they went in [the] territory of Moab for [the] Arnon [was] [the] border of Moab.
19 Sedan skickade Israel sändebud till Sihon, amoréernas konung, konungen i Hesbon; och Israel lät säga till honom: 'Låt oss genom ditt land tåga dit vi skola.'
And it sent Israel messengers to Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] [the] king of Heshbon and it said to him Israel let us pass please in land your to own place my.
20 Men Sihon litade icke på Israel och lät dem icke tåga genom sitt land, utan församlade allt sitt folk, och de lägrade sig i Jahas; där in- lät han sig i strid med Israel.
And not he trusted Sihon Israel to pass in territory his and he gathered Sihon all people his and they encamped at Jahaz and he fought with Israel.
21 Men HERREN, Israels Gud, gav Sihon och allt hans folk i Israels hand, så att de slogo dem; och Israel intog hela amoréernas land, ty dessa bodde då i detta land.
And he gave Yahweh [the] God of Israel Sihon and all people his in [the] hand of Israel and they defeated them and it took possession of Israel all [the] land of the Amorite[s] [who] dwelt of the land that.
22 De intogo hela amoréernas område, från Arnon ända till Jabbok, och från öknen ända till Jordan.
And they took possession of all [the] territory of the Amorite[s] from [the] Arnon and to the Jabbok and from the wilderness and to the Jordan.
23 Och nu, då HERREN, Israels Gud, har fördrivit amoréerna för sitt folk Israel, skulle du taga deras land i besittning!
And now Yahweh - [the] God of Israel he has dispossessed the Amorite[s] from before people his Israel and you will you take possession of? it.
24 Är det icke så: vad din gud Kemos giver dig till besittning, det tager du i besittning? Så taga ock vi, närhelst HERREN, vår Gud, fördriver ett folk för oss, deras land i besittning.
¿ Not [that] which he will cause to possess you Chemosh god your it will you take possession of and all that he has dispossessed Yahweh God our from before us it we will take possession of.
25 Menar du att du är så mycket förmer än Balak, Sippors sons konungen i Moab? Han dristade ju icke att inlåta sig i tvist med Israel eller giva sig i strid med dem.
And now ¿ really good [are] you more than Balak [the] son of Zippor [the] king of Moab ¿ really did he quarrel with Israel or? ever did he wage war against them.
26 När Israel nu i tre hundra år har bott i Hesbon och underlydande orter, i Aror och underlydande orter och i alla städer på båda sidor om Arnon, varför haven I då under hela den tiden icke tagit detta ifrån oss?
When dwelt Israel in Heshbon and in daughters its and in Aroer and in daughters its and in all the cities which [were] on [the] sides of [the] Arnon three hundred year[s] and why? not did you recover [them] at the time that.
27 Jag har icke försyndat mig mot dig, men du gör illa mot mig, då du nu överfaller mig. HERREN, domaren, må i dag döma mellan Israels barn och Ammons barn.»
And I not I have sinned to you and you [are] doing with me evil by waging war against me may he judge Yahweh the judge this day between [the] people of Israel and between [the] people of Ammon.
28 Men Ammons barns konung hörde icke på vad Jefta lät säga honom genom sändebuden.
And not he listened [the] king of [the] people of Ammon to [the] words of Jephthah which he sent to him.
29 Då kom HERRENS Ande över Jefta; och han tågade genom Gilead och Manasse och tågade så genom Mispe i Gilead, och från Mispe i Gilead tågade han fram mot Ammons barn.
And it was on Jephthah [the] spirit of Yahweh and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and he passed through Mizpah of Gilead and from Mizpah of Gilead he he passed on [the] people of Ammon.
30 Och Jefta gjorde ett löfte åt HERREN och sade: »Om du giver Ammons barn i min hand,
And he vowed Jephthah a vow to Yahweh and he said certainly [if] you will give [the] people of Ammon in hand my.
31 så lovar jag att vadhelst som ur dörrarna till mitt hus går ut emot mig, när jag välbehållen kommer tillbaka från Ammons barn, det skall höra HERREN till, och det skall jag offra till brännoffer.»
And it will be whatever comes out which it will come out from [the] doors of house my to meet me when return I in peace from [the] people of Ammon and it will belong to Yahweh and I will offer up it a burnt offering.
32 Så drog nu Jefta åstad mot Ammons barn för att strida mot dem; och HERREN gav dem i hans hand.
And he passed on Jephthah to [the] people of Ammon to fight against them (and he gave them *L(abh)*) Yahweh in hand his.
33 Och han tillfogade dem ett mycket stort nederlag och intog landet från Aroer ända till fram emot Minnit, tjugu städer, och ända till Abel-Keramim. Alltså blevo Ammons barn kuvade under Israels barn.
And he defeated them from Aroer and until coming you Minnith twenty citi[es] and to Abel Keramim a defeat great very and they were subdued [the] people of Ammon from before [the] people of Israel.
34 När sedan Jefta kom hem till sitt hus i Mispa, då gick hans dotter ut emot honom med pukor och dans. Och hon var hans enda barn, han hade utom henne varken son eller dotter.
And he came Jephthah Mizpah to house his and there! daughter his [was] coming out to meet him with tambourines and with dancing and only she [was] an only [child] not [belonged] to him from him a son or a daughter.
35 I detsamma han nu fick se henne, rev han sönder sina kläder och ropade: »Ve mig, min dotter, du kommer mig att sjunka till jorden, du drager olycka över mig! Ty jag har öppnat min mun inför HERREN till ett löfte och kan icke taga mitt ord tillbaka.»
And it was when saw he her and he tore clothes his and he said alas! O daughter my certainly you have brought low me and you you are among [those who] trouble me and I I have opened mouth my to Yahweh and not I am able to turn back.
36 Hon svarade honom: »Min fader, har du öppnat din mun inför HERREN, så gör med mig enligt din muns tal, eftersom HERREN nu har skaffat dig hämnd på dina fiender, Ammons barn.»
And she said to him O father my you have opened mouth your to Yahweh do to me just as it has come out from mouth your after that he did for you Yahweh vengeance from enemies your from [the] people of Ammon.
37 Och hon sade ytterligare till sin fader: »Uppfyll dock denna min begäran: unna mig två månader, så att jag får gå åstad ned på bergen och begråta min jungfrudom med mina väninnor.
And she said to father her let it be done for me the thing this refrain from me two months so let me go and I will go down on the mountains so I may weep on virginiti my I (and companions my. *Q(K)*)
38 Han svarade: »Du får gå åstad.» Och han tillstadde henne att vara borta i två månader. Då gick hon åstad med sina väninnor och begrät sin jungfrudom på bergen.
And he said go and he sent away her two months and she went she and companions her and she wept on virginiti her on the mountains.
39 Men efter två månader vände hon tillbaka till sin fader, och han förfor då med henne efter det löfte han hade gjort. Och hon hade icke känt någon man.
And it was from [the] end of - two months and she returned to father her and he did to her vow his which he had vowed and she not she had known a man and it was a custom in Israel.
40 Sedan blev det en sedvänja i Israel att Israels döttrar år efter år gingo åstad för att lovprisa gileaditen Jeftas dotter, under fyra dagar vart år.
From days - days towards they go [the] daughters of Israel to recount for [the] daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in the year.
