Josua 21
1 Och huvudmännen för leviternas familjer trädde fram inför prästen Eleasar och Josua, Nuns son, och huvudmännen för familjerna inom Israels barns stammar
And the heads of the families of the sons of Levi drew near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the [son] of Naue, and to the heads of families of the tribes of Israel.
2 och talade till dem i Silo i Kanaans land, och sade: »HERREN bjöd genom Mose att man skulle giva oss städer att bo i, med tillhörande utmarker för vår boskap.»
And they spoke to them in Selo in the land of Chanaan, saying, The Lord gave commandment by Moses to give us cities to dwell in, and the country round about for our cattle.
3 Så gåvo då Israels barn, efter HERRES befallning, av sina arvslotter åt leviterna följande städer med tillhörande utmarker.
So the children of Israel gave to the Levites in their inheritance by the command of the Lord the cities and the country round.
4 För kehatiternas släkter föll lotten ut så, att bland dessa leviter prästen Arons söner genom lotten fingo ur Juda stam, ur simeoniternas stam och ur Benjamins stam tretton städer.
And the lot came out for the children of Caath; and the sons of Aaron, the priests the Levites, had by lot thirteen cities out of the tribe of Juda, and out of the tribe of Symeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin.
5 Och Kehats övriga barn fingo genom lotten ur Efraims stams släkter, ur Dans stam och ur ena hälften av Manasse stam tio städer.
And to the sons of Caath that were left were [given by] lot ten cities, out of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasse.
6 Gersons barn åter fingo genom lotten ur Isaskars stams släkter, ur Asers stam, ur Naftali stam och ur andra hälften av Manasse stam, i Basan, tretton städer.
And the sons of Gedson had thirteen cities, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephthali, and out of the half tribe of Manasse in Basan.
7 Meraris barn fingo, efter sina släkter, ur Rubens stam, ur Gads stam och ur Sebulons stam tolv städer.
And the sons of Merari according to their families had by lot twelve cities, out of the tribe of Ruben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulon.
8 Israels barn gåvo nu åt leviterna dessa städer med tillhörande utmarker, genom lottkastning, såsom HERREN hade bjudit genom Mose.
And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded Moses, by lot.
9 Ur Juda barns stam och ur Simeons barns stam gav man följande här namngivna städer:
And the tribe of the children of Juda, and the tribe of the children of Symeon, and [part] of the tribe of the children of Benjamin gave these cities, and they were assigned
10 Bland kehatiternas släkter bland Levi barn fingo Arons söner följande, ty dem träffade lotten först:
to the sons of Aaron of the family of Caath of the sons of Levi, for the lot fell to these.
11 Man gav dem Arbas, Anoks faders, stad, det är Hebron, i Juda bergsbygd, med dess utmarker runt omkring.
And they gave to them Cariatharboc the metropolis of the sons of Enac; this is Chebron in the mountain [country] of Juda, and the suburbs round it.
12 Men åkerjorden och byarna som hörde till staden gav man till besittning åt Kaleb, Jefunnes son.
But the lands of the city, and its villages Joshua gave to the sons of Chaleb the son of Jephonne for a possession.
13 Åt prästen Arons söner gav man alltså dråparfristaden Hebron med dess utmarker, vidare Libna med dess utmarker,
And to the sons of Aaron he gave the city of refuge for the slayer, Chebron, and the suburbs belonging to it; and Lemna and the suburbs belonging to it;
14 Jattir med dess utmarker, Estemoa med dess utmarker,
and Aelom and its suburbs; and Tema and its suburbs;
15 Holon med dess utmarker, Debir med dess utmarker,
and Gella and its suburbs; and Dabir and its suburbs;
16 Ain med dess utmarker, Jutta med dess utmarker och Bet-Semes med dess utmarker -- nio städer ur dessa två stammar;
and Asa and its suburbs; and Tany and its suburbs; and Baethsamys and its suburbs: nine cities from these two tribes.
17 och ur Benjamins stam Gibeon med dess utmarker, Geba med dess utmarker,
And from the tribe of Benjamin, Gabaon and its suburbs; and Gatheth and its suburbs;
18 Anatot med dess utmarker och Almon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer.
and Anathoth and its suburbs; and Gamala and its suburbs; four cities.
19 De städer som Arons söner, prästerna, fingo utgjorde alltså tillsammans tretton städer, med tillhörande utmarker.
All the cities of the sons of Aaron the priests, thirteen.
20 Och Kehats barns släkter av leviterna, nämligen de övriga Kehats barn, fingo ur Efraims stam följande städer, som lotten bestämde åt dem:
And to the families, [even] the sons of Caath the Levites, that were left of the sons of Caath, there was [given] their priests' city,
21 Man gav dem dråparfristaden Sikem med dess utmarker i Efraims bergsbygd, Geser med dess utmarker,
out of the tribe of Ephraim; and they gave them the slayer's city of refuge, Sychem, and its suburbs, and Gazara and its appendages, and its suburbs;
22 Kibsaim med dess utmarker och Bet-Horon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
and Baethoron and its suburbs: four cities:
23 och ur Dans stam Elteke med dess utmarker, Gibbeton med dess utmarker,
and the tribe of Dan, Helcothaim and its suburbs; and Gethedan and its suburbs:
24 Ajalon med dess utmarker och Gat-Rimmon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
and Aelon and its suburbs; and Getheremmon and its suburbs: four cities.
25 och ur ena hälften av Manasse stam Taanak med dess utmarker och Gat-Rimmon med dess utmarker -- två städer.
And out of the half tribe of Manasse, Tanach and its suburbs; and Jebatha and its suburbs; two cities.
26 De städer som de övriga Kehats barns släkter fingo utgjorde alltså tillsammans tio, med tillhörande utmarker.
In all [were given] ten cities, and the suburbs of each belonging to them, to the families of the sons of Caath that remained.
27 Bland leviternas släkter fingo vidare Gersons barn ur ena hälften av Manasse stam dråparfristaden Golan i Basan med dess utmarker och Beestera med dess utmarker -- två städer;
And [Joshua gave] to the sons of Gedson the Levites out of the other half tribe of Manasse cities set apart for the slayers, Gaulon in the country of Basan, and its suburbs; and Bosora and its suburbs; two cities.
28 och ur Isaskars stam Kisjon med dess utmarker, Dobrat med dess utmarker,
And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kison and its suburbs; and Debba and its suburbs;
29 Jarmut med dess utmarker och En-Gannim med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
and Remmath and its suburbs; and the well of Letters, and its suburbs; four cities.
30 och ur Asers stam Miseal med dess utmarker, Abdon med dess utmarker,
And out of the tribe of Aser, Basella and its suburbs; and Dabbon and its suburbs;
31 Helkat med dess utmarker och Rehob med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
and Chelcat and its suburbs; and Raab and its suburbs; four cities.
32 och ur Naftali stam dråparfristaden Kedes i Galileen med dess utmarker, Hammot-Dor med dess utmarker och Kartan med dess utmarker -- tre städer.
And of the tribe of Nephthali, the city set apart for the slayer, Cades in Galilee, and its suburbs; and Nemmath, and its suburbs; and Themmon and its suburbs; three cities.
33 Gersoniternas städer, efter deras släkter, utgjorde alltså tillsammans tretton städer, med tillhörande utmarker.
All the cities of Gedson according to their families [were] thirteen cities.
34 Och de övriga leviterna, Meraris barns släkter, fingo ur Sebulons stam Jokneam med dess utmarker, Karta med dess utmarker,
And to the family of the sons of Merari the Levites that remained, [he gave] out of the tribe of Zabulon, Maan and its suburbs; and Cades and its suburbs,
35 Dimna med dess utmarker och Nahalal med dess utmarker -- fyra städer.
and Sella and its suburbs: three cities.
And beyond Jordan over against Jericho, out of the tribe of Ruben, the city of refuge for the slayer, Bosor in the wilderness; Miso and its suburbs; and Jazer and its suburbs; and Decmon and its suburbs; and Mapha and its suburbs; four cities.
And out of the tribe of Gad the city of refuge for the slayer, both Ramoth in Galaad, and its suburbs; Camin and its suburbs; and Esbon and its suburbs; and Jazer and its suburbs: the cities [were] four in all.
38 och ur Gads stam dråparfristaden Ramot i Gilead med dess utmarker, Mahanaim med dess utmarker,
39 Hesbon med dess utmarker och Jaeser med dess utmarker -- tillsammans fyra städer.
40 De städer som dessa de övriga leviternas släkter, Meraris barn, fingo på sin lott, efter sina släkter, utgjorde alltså tillsammans tolv städer.
All [these] cities [were given] to the sons of Merari according to the families of them that were left out of the tribe of Levi; and their limits were the twelve cities.
41 Tillsammans utgjorde levitstäderna inom Israels barns besittningsområde fyrtioåtta städer med tillhörande utmarker.
All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel, [were] forty-eight cities,
42 Var och en av dessa städer skulle bestå av själva staden och tillhörande utmarker runt omkring. Så var det med alla dessa städer.
and their suburbs round about these cities: a city and the suburbs round about the city to all these cities.
43 Så gav då HERREN åt Israel hela det land som han med ed hade lovat giva åt deras fäder; och de togo det i besittning och bosatte sig där.
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land which he sware to give to their fathers: and they inherited it, and lived in it.
44 Och HERREN lät dem hava ro på alla sidor, alldeles såsom han med ed hade lovat deras fäder; och ingen av deras fiender kunde stå dem emot, utan HERREN gav alla deras fiender i deras hand.
And the Lord gave them rest round about, as he sware to their fathers: not one of all their enemies maintained his ground against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hands.
45 Intet uteblev av allt det goda som HERREN hade lovat Israels hus; det gick allt i fullbordan. V. 36--37 se Gamla testamentets text i Ordförkl.
There failed not one of the good things which the Lord spoke to the children of Israel; all came to pass.
