Hosea 12
1 Efraim jagar efter vind och far efter östanväder; beständigt går han framåt i lögn och våld. Med Assur sluter man förbund, och olja för man till Egypten.
Effraym fedith wynd, and sueth heete. Al dai he multiplieth leesyng, and distriyng; and he made boond of pees with Assiriens, and bar oile in to Egipt.
2 Men HERREN skall gå till rätta med Juda och hemsöka Jakob, såsom hans vägar förtjäna; efter hans gärningar skall han vedergälla honom.
Therfor the doom of the Lord is with Juda, and visityng is on Jacob; bi the weies of hym, and bi the fyndyngis of hym he schal yelde to hym.
3 I moderlivet grep han sin broder i hälen, och i sin mandomskraft kämpade han med Gud.
In the wombe he supplauntide his brother, and in his strengthe he was dressid with the aungel.
4 Ja, han kämpade med ängeln och vann seger, han grät och bad honom om nåd. I Betel mötte han honom, och där talade han med oss.
And he was strong to the aungel, and was coumfortid; he wepte, and preiede hym; in Bethel he foond hym, and there he spak with vs.
5 Och HERREN, härskarornas Gud, »HERREN» är hans namn.
And the Lord God of oostis, the Lord, is the memorial of hym.
6 Så vänd nu om till din Gud; håll fast vid kärlek och rätt, och förbida din Gud beständigt.
And thou schalt turne to thi God. Kepe thou merci and doom, and hope thou euere in thi God.
7 Kanaans folk går med falsk våg i sin hand, det älskar orättrådig vinning;
Chanaan louyde fals caleng, a gileful balaunce in his hond.
8 så säger ock Efraim: »Jag har ju blivit rik, jag har förvärvat mig gods; vad jag än gör, skall det ej draga över mig skuld som kan räknas för synd.»
And Effraym seide, Netheles Y am maad riche, Y haue founde an idol to me; alle my trauelis schulen not fynde to me the wickidnesse, whiche Y synnede.
9 Men jag som är HERREN, din Gud, alltsedan du var i Egyptens land, jag skall återigen låta dig bo i tält, likasom vid eder högtid.
And Y am thi Lord God fro the lond of Egipt; yit Y schal make thee to sitte in tabernaclis, as in the daies of feeste.
10 Jag har talat till profeterna, jag har låtit dem skåda mångahanda syner, och genom profeterna har jag talat i liknelser.
And Y spak bi profetis, and Y multiplied profesie, and Y was licned in the hond of profetis.
11 Är nu Gilead ett ogärningsnäste, där allenast falskhet råder, och offrar man tjurar i Gilgal, så skola ock deras altaren bliva lika stenrösen vid markens fåror.
If Galaad worschipith an idol, therfor thei erren in veyn offryng to oxis in Galgal; for whi and the auteris of hem schulen be as heepis on the forewis of the feeld.
12 Och Jakob flydde till Arams mark Israel tjänade för en kvinna, för en kvinnas skull vaktade han hjorden.
Jacob fledde in to the cuntrei of Sirie, and Israel seruyde for a wijf, and seruyde, ether kepte, for a wijf.
13 Men genom en profet förde HERREN Israel upp ur Egypten, och genom en profet blev folket bevarat.
But bi a profete the Lord ledde Israel out of Egipt, and bi a profete he was kept.
14 Efraim har uppväckt bitter förtörnelse; hans Herre skall låta hans blodskulder drabba honom och låta hans smädelser falla tillbaka på honom själv.
Effraym terride me to wrathfulnesse in hise bitternessis, and the blood of hym schal come on hym; and his Lord schal restore to hym the schenschipe of him.
