5 Mosebok 22
1 Om du ser din broders oxe eller får gå vilse, skall du icke undandraga dig att taga vara på djuret; du skall föra det tillbaka till din broder.
'Thou dost not see the ox of thy brother or his sheep driven away, and hast hidden thyself from them, thou dost certainly turn them back to thy brother;
2 Och om din broder icke bor i din närhet, eller om du icke vet vem det är, så skall du taga djuret in i ditt hus, och det skall vara hos dig, till dess din broder frågar efter det; då skall du lämna det tillbaka åt honom.
and if thy brother [is] not near unto thee, and thou hast not known him, then thou hast removed it unto the midst of thy house, and it hath been with thee till thy brother seek it, and thou hast given it back to him;
3 På samma sätt skall du göra med hans åsna, på samma sätt med hans kläder, och på samma sätt skall du göra med allt annat som din broder kan hava förlorat, och som du hittar; du får icke draga dig undan.
and so thou dost to his ass, and so thou dost to his garment, and so thou dost to any lost thing of thy brother's, which is lost by him, and thou hast found it; thou art not able to hide thyself.
4 Om du ser din broders åsna eller oxe falla på vägen, skall du icke undandraga dig att bistå djuret; du skall hjälpa honom att resa upp det.
'Thou dost not see the ass of thy brother, or his ox, falling in the way, and hast hid thyself from them; thou dost certainly raise [them] up with him.
5 En kvinna skall icke bära vad till en man hör, ej heller skall en man sätta på sig kvinnokläder; ty var och en som så gör är en styggelse för HERREN, din Gud.
'The habiliments of a man are not on a woman, nor doth a man put on the garment of a woman, for the abomination of Jehovah thy God [is] any one doing these.
6 Om du på din väg träffar på ett fågelbo, i något träd eller på marken, med ungar eller ägg i, och modern ligger på ungarna eller på äggen, så skall du icke taga både modern och ungarna.
'When a bird's nest cometh before thee in the way, in any tree, or on the earth, brood or eggs, and the mother sitting on the brood or on the eggs, thou dost not take the mother with the young ones;
7 Du skall låta modern flyga och taga allenast ungarna; så skall du göra, för att det må gå dig väl och du må länge leva.
thou dost certainly send away the mother, and the young ones dost take to thyself, so that it is well with thee, and thou hast prolonged days.
8 När du bygger ett nytt hus, skall du förse taket med bröstvärn, för att du icke må draga blodskuld över ditt hus, om någon faller ned därifrån.
'When thou buildest a new house, then thou hast made a parapet to thy roof, and thou dost not put blood on thy house when one falleth from it.
9 Du skall icke, för att få två slags skörd i din vingård, så säd däri, på det att icke alltsammans, både vad du har sått och vad själva vingården avkastar, må hemfalla till helgedomen.
'Thou dost not sow thy vineyard [with] divers things, lest the fulness of the seed which thou dost sow, and the increase of the vineyard, be separated.
10 Du skall icke plöja med oxe och åsna tillsammans.
'Thou dost not plow with an ox and with an ass together.
11 Du skall icke kläda dig i tyg av olika garn, av ull och lin tillsammans.
'Thou dost not put on a mixed cloth, wool and linen together.
12 Du skall göra dig tofsar i de fyra hörnen på överklädnaden som du höljer dig i.
'Fringes thou dost make to thee on the four skirts of thy covering with which thou dost cover [thyself].
13 Om en man har tagit sig en hustru och gått in till henne, men sedan får motvilja mot henne,
'When a man taketh a wife, and hath gone in unto her, and hated her,
14 och då påbördar henne skamliga ting och sprider ut ont rykte om henne och säger: »Denna kvinna tog jag till hustru; men när jag låg hos henne, fann jag icke tecknen till att hon var jungfru»,
and laid against her actions of words, and brought out against her an evil name, and said, This woman I have taken, and I draw near unto her, and I have not found in her tokens of virginity:
15 så skola flickans fader och moder taga tecknen till att flickan var jungfru och bära dem ut till de äldste i staden, där de sitta i porten.
'Then hath the father of the damsel — and her mother — taken and brought out the tokens of virginity of the damsel unto the elders of the city in the gate,
16 Och flickans fader skall säga till de äldste: »Jag gav min dotter till hustru åt denne man, men han har fått motvilja mot henne.
and the father of the damsel hath said unto the elders, My daughter I have given to this man for a wife, and he doth hate her;
17 Och nu påbördar han henne skamliga ting och säger: 'Jag har icke funnit tecknen till att din dotter var jungfru'; men här äro tecknen till att min dotter var jungfru.» Och de skola breda ut klädet inför de äldste i staden.
and lo, he hath laid actions of words, saying, I have not found to thy daughter tokens of virginity — and these [are] the tokens of the virginity of my daughter! and they have spread out the garment before the elders of the city.
18 Då skola de äldste i staden taga mannen och tukta honom.
'And the elders of that city have taken the man, and chastise him,
19 Och de skola ålägga honom att böta hundra siklar silver, vilka han skall giva åt flickans fader, därför att han har spritt ut ont rykte om en jungfru i Israel. Och hon skall vara hans hustru, och han får icke skilja sig från henne, så länge han lever.
and fined him a hundred silverlings, and given to the father of the damsel, because he hath brought out an evil name on a virgin of Israel, and she is to him for a wife, he is not able to send her away all his days.
20 Men om det var sanning, om tecknen till att flickan var jungfru icke funnos,
'And if this thing hath been truth — tokens of virginity have not been found for the damsel —
21 då skall man föra ut flickan utanför dörren till hennes faders hus, och männen i staden skola stena henne till döds därför att hon har gjort vad som var en galenskap i Israel, då hon bedrev otukt i sin faders hus: du skall skaffa bort ifrån dig vad ont är.
then they have brought out the damsel unto the opening of her father's house, and stoned her have the men of her city with stones, and she hath died, for she hath done folly in Israel, to go a-whoring [in] her father's house; and thou hast put away the evil thing out of thy midst.
22 Om en man ertappas med att ligga hos en kvinna som är en annan mans äkta hustru, så skola båda dö, både mannen som låg hos kvinnan, och jämväl kvinnan: du skall skaffa bort ifrån Israel vad ont är.
'When a man is found lying with a woman, married to a husband, then they have died even both of them, the man who is lying with the woman, also the woman; and thou hast put away the evil thing out of Israel.
23 Om en jungfru är trolovad med en man, och en annan man träffar henne i staden och lägrar henne,
'When there is a damsel, a virgin, betrothed to a man, and a man hath found her in a city, and lain with her;
24 så skolen I föra dem båda ut till stadens port och stena dem till döds, flickan, därför att hon icke ropade på hjälp i staden, och mannen, därför att han kränkte en annans trolovade: du skall skaffa bort ifrån dig vad ont är.
then ye have brought them both out unto the gate of that city, and stoned them with stones, and they have died: — the damsel, because that she hath not cried, [being] in a city; and the man, because that he hath humbled his neighbour's wife; and thou hast put away the evil thing out of thy midst.
25 Men om det var ute på marken som mannen träffade den trolovade flickan, och han där tog henne med våld och lägrade henne, så skall mannen som lägrade henne ensam dö.
'And if in a field the man find the damsel who is betrothed, and the man hath laid hold on her, and lain with her, then hath the man who hath lain with her died alone;
26 Men flickan skall du icke göra något, flickan har icke begått någon synd som förtjänar döden; utan det är med denna sak, såsom när en man överfaller en annan och dräper honom.
and to the damsel thou dost not do anything, the damsel hath no deadly sin; for as a man riseth against his neighbour and hath murdered him — the life, so [is] this thing;
27 Ty då det var ute på marken som han träffade den trolovade flickan, kan hon hava ropat, utan att någon fanns där, som kunde frälsa henne.
for in a field he found her, she hath cried — the damsel who is betrothed — and she hath no saviour.
28 Om däremot en man träffar en jungfru som icke är trolovad, och han tager fatt henne och lägrar henne, och de ertappas,
'When a man findeth a damsel, a virgin who is not betrothed, and hath caught her, and lain with her, and they have been found,
29 så skall mannen som lägrade flickan giva åt flickans fader femtio siklar silver och taga henne själv till sin hustru, därför att han har kränkt henne; han får icke skilja sig från henne, så länge han lever.
then hath the man who is lying with her given to the father of the damsel fifty silverlings, and to him she is for a wife; because that he hath humbled her, he is not able to send her away all his days.
30 Ingen skall taga sin faders hustru och lyfta på sin faders täcke.
'A man doth not take his father's wife, nor uncover his father's skirt.
