2 Krönikeboken 11
1 Och när Rehabeam kom till Jerusalem, församlade han Juda hus och Benjamin, ett hundra åttio tusen utvalda krigare, för att de skulle strida mot Israel och återvinna konungadömet åt Rehabeam.
And Rehoboam comes to Jerusalem, and assembles the house of Judah and Benjamin—one hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors—to fight with Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Men HERRENS ord kom till gudsmannen Semaja; han sade:
And a word of YHWH is to Shemaiah, a man of God, saying,
3 »Säg till Rehabeam, Salomos son, Juda konung, och till alla israeliter i Juda och Benjamin:
“Speak to Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4 Så säger HERREN: I skolen icke draga upp och strida mot edra bröder. Vänden tillbaka hem, var och en till sitt, ty vad som har skett har kommit från mig.» Och de lyssnade till HERRENS ord och vände om och drogo icke mot Jerobeam.
Thus said YHWH: You do not go up nor fight with your brothers! Let each return to his house, for this thing has been from Me”; and they hear the words of YHWH, and turn back from going against Jeroboam.
5 Men Rehabeam bodde i Jerusalem, och han befäste städer i Juda och gjorde dem till fasta platser.
And Rehoboam dwells in Jerusalem, and builds cities for a bulwark in Judah,
6 Han befäste Bet-Lehem, Etam, Tekoa,
indeed, he builds Beth-Lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
7 Bet-Sur, Soko, Adullam
and Beth-Zur, and Shocho, and Adullam,
8 Gat, Maresa, Sif,
and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
9 Adoraim, Lakis, Aseka,
and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
10 Sorga, Ajalon och Hebron, alla i Juda och Benjamin, och gjorde dem till fasta städer.
and Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, that [are] in Judah and in Benjamin, cities of bulwarks.
11 Och han gjorde deras befästningar starka och tillsatte hövdingar i dem och lade in i dem förråd av mat, olja och vin;
And he strengthens the bulwarks, and puts leaders in them, and treasures of food, and oil, and wine,
12 var och en särskild av dessa städer försåg han med sköldar och spjut; han befäste dem mycket starkt. Och Juda och Benjamin förblevo under hans välde.
and in each and every city [he puts] bucklers and spears, and strengthens them very greatly; and he has Judah and Benjamin.
13 Och prästerna och leviterna i hela Israel gingo över till honom från alla sina områden;
And the priests and the Levites that [are] in all Israel have stationed themselves by him, out of all their border,
14 ty leviterna övergåvo sina utmarker och sina andra besittningar och begåvo sig till Juda och Jerusalem, eftersom Jerobeam med sina söner drev dem bort ifrån deras tjänst såsom HERRENS präster,
for the Levites have left their outskirts and their possession, and they come to Judah and to Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons have cast them off from acting as priests for YHWH,
15 och anställde åt sig andra präster för offerhöjderna och för de onda andarna och för kalvarna som han hade låtit göra.
and he establishes for himself priests for high places, and for goat [idols] and for calf [idols] that he made.
16 Och dem följde ifrån alla Israels stammar de som vände sina hjärtan till att söka HERREN, Israels Gud; dessa kommo till Jerusalem för att offra åt HERREN, sina fäders Gud.
And after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those giving their heart to seek YHWH, God of Israel, have come to Jerusalem to sacrifice to YHWH, God of their father.
17 I tre år befäste de så konungamakten i Juda och gjorde Rehabeams, Salomos sons, välde starkt; ty i tre år vandrade de på Davids och Salomos väg.
And they strengthen the kingdom of Judah, and strengthen Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.
18 Och Rehabeam tog till hustru åt sig Mahalat, dotter till Jerimot, Davids son, och till Abihail, Eliabs, Isais sons, dotter.
And Rehoboam takes a wife for himself, Mahalath, child of Jerimoth son of David, [and of] Abigail daughter of Eliab son of Jesse.
19 Hon födde åt honom sönerna Jeus, Semarja och Saham.
And she bears sons to him: Jeush, and Shamaria, and Zaham.
20 Och efter henne tog han till hustru Maaka, Absaloms dotter. Hon födde åt honom Abia, Attai, Sisa och Selomit.
And after her he has taken Maachah daughter of Absalom, and she bears to him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Och Rehabeam hade Maaka, Absaloms dotter, kärare än alla sina andra hustrur och bihustrur -- ty han hade tagit aderton hustrur och sextio bihustrur -- och han födde tjuguåtta söner och sextio döttrar.
And Rehoboam loves Maachah daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines—for he has taken eighteen wives and sixty concubines—and he begets twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 Och Rehabeam satte Abia, Maakas son, till huvud och furste bland sina bröder, ty han hade i sinnet att göra honom till konung.
And Rehoboam appoints Abijah son of Maachah for head, for leader among his brothers, for to cause him to reign.
23 Och på lämpligt sätt fördelade han alla Judas och Benjamins landskap och alla fasta städer mellan några av sina söner och gav dem rikligt underhåll; han skaffade dem ock hustrur i mängd.
And he has understanding, and disperses from all his sons to all lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all cities of the bulwarks, and gives provision in abundance to them; and he asks for a multitude of wives [for them].
