Psaltaren 76

1 En Psalm och visa Assaphs, på strängaspel, till att föresjunga. Gud är känd i Juda; i Israel är hans Namn härligit.

For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

2 I Salem är hans tjäll, och hans boning i Zion.

In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

3 Der sönderbryter han bågans pilar, sköld, svärd och strid. (Sela)

There he brake the arrows of the bow; the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Selah)

4 Du äst härligare och mägtigare, än de röfvareberg.

Glorious art thou [and] excellent, from the mountains of prey.

5 De stolte måste beröfvade varda, och afsomna; och alle krigare måste låta händerna falla.

The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep; and none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 För ditt näpsande, Jacobs Gud, faller i sömn både vagn och häst.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7 Du äst förskräckelig; ho kan för dig stå, då du vred äst?

Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8 När du låter höra domen af himmelen, så förskräckes jorden, och varder stilla;

Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

9 När Gud uppstår till att döma, på det han skall hjelpa alla elända på jordene. (Sela)

When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. (Selah)

10 När du ena mennisko straffar, så måste man bekänna dig, att du redo äst till att straffa andra flera.

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.

11 Lofver, och håller det Herranom edrom Gud, alle I som omkring honom ären. Bärer fram skänker dem förskräckeliga;

Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 Den der Förstomen borttager modet, och förskräckelig är ibland Konungarna på jordene.

He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
