Psaltaren 54

1 En undervisning Davids, till att föresjunga på strängaspel; Då de af Siph kommo, och sade till Saul: David hafver fördolt sig när oss. Hjelp mig, Gud, genom ditt Namn, och skaffa mig rätt genom dina magt.

Unto the end. In verses, the understanding of David, when the Ziphites had arrived and they said to Saul, “Has not David been hidden with us?” Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me in your virtue.

2 Gud, hör min bön; förnim mins muns tal.

O God, listen to my prayer. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

3 Ty stolte sätta sig emot mig, och våldsverkare stå efter mina själ; och hafva intet Gud för ögon. (Sela)

For strangers have risen up against me, and the strong have sought my soul. And they have not set God before their eyes.

4 Si, Gud står med mig; Herren uppehåller mina själ.

For behold, God is my helper, and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

5 Han skall betala minom fiendom det onda; förstör dem genom dina trohet;

Turn back the evils upon my adversaries, and ruin them by your truth.

6 Så vill jag göra dig ett glädjeoffer, och tacka, Herre, dino Namne, att det så trösteligit är.

I will freely sacrifice to you, and I will confess your name, O God, because it is good.

7 Ty du hjelper mig utur all min nöd, att mina ögon måga på mina fiendar lust se.

For you have quickly rescued me from all tribulation, and my eye has looked down upon my enemies.
