Psaltaren 26

1 En Psalm Davids. Herre, skaffa mig rätt; ty jag är oskyldig. Jag hoppas på Herran; derföre skall jag icke falla.

Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Judge me, Lord, for I have been walking in my innocence, and by hoping in the Lord, I will not be weakened.

2 Pröfva mig, Herre, och försök mig; ransaka mina njurar och mitt hjerta.

Examine me, Lord, and test me: enkindle my temperament and my heart.

3 Ty din godhet är för min ögon, och jag vandrar i dine sanning.

For your mercy is before my eyes, and I am serene in your truth.

4 Jag sitter icke när de fåfänga, menniskor, och hafver icke omgängelse med de falska.

I have not sat with the council of emptiness, and I will not enter with those who carry out injustice.

5 Jag hatar de ondas församling, och sitter icke när de ogudaktiga.

I have hated the assembly of the malicious; and I will not sit with the impious.

6 Jag tvår mina händer med oskyldighet, och håller mig, Herre, intill ditt altare;

I will wash my hands among the innocent, and I will surround your altar, O Lord,

7 Der man hörer tacksägelses röst, och der man predikar all din under.

so that I may hear the voice of your praise and describe all your wonders.

8 Herre, jag hafver dins hus boning kär, och det rum der din ära bor.

O Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house and the dwelling place of your glory.

9 Ryck icke mina själ bort med syndarena, eller mitt lif med de blodgiruga;

O God, do not let my soul perish with the impious, nor my life with the men of blood,

10 Hvilke omgå med arga list, och taga gerna gåfvor.

in whose hands are iniquities: their right hand has been filled by bribes.

11 Men jag vandrar oskyldeliga; förlös mig, och var mig nådelig.

But as for me, I have been walking in my innocence. Redeem me, and have mercy on me.

12 Min fot går rätt; i församlingene vill jag lofva dig, Herre.

My foot has stood firm in the straight path. In the churches, I will bless you, O Lord.
