Psaltaren 20

1 En Psalm Davids, till att föresjunga. Herren höre dig i nödene; Jacobs Guds Namn beskydde dig.

To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:

2 Han sände dig hjelp af helgedomenom, och styrke dig utaf Zion.

Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.

3 Han tänke uppå all din spisoffer; och din bränneoffer vare fet. (Sela)

Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. (Selah)

4 Han gifve dig hvad ditt hjerta begärar, och fullborde all din anslag.

And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:

5 Vi fröjde oss, att du oss hjelper; och i vår Guds Namn rese vi baneret upp; Herren fullborde alla dina böner.

That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.

6 Nu märker jag, att Herren hjelper sin smorda, och hörer honom i sinom helga himmel; hans högra hand hjelper väldeliga.

Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.

7 De andre förlåta sig på vagnar och hästar; men vi tänke på Herrans vår Guds Namn.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

8 De äro nederstötte och fallne; men vi stå upprätte.

They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.

9 Hjelp, Herre; Konungen höre oss, när vi rope.

Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.
