Psaltaren 16
1 Ett gyldene klenodium Davids. Bevara mig, Gud; förty jag tröstar uppå dig.
Preserve me, O God, for in thee do I take refuge.
2 Jag hafver sagt till Herran: Du äst ju Herren; jag måste för dina skull lida.
Thou my soul have said to Jehovah, Thou are my Lord. I have no good beyond thee.
3 För de heliga, som på jordene äro, och för de härliga, till dem hafver jag allt mitt behag.
As for the sanctified who are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight.
4 Men de som efter en annan löpa, skola stor bedröfvelse hafva; jag vill icke offra deras drickoffer med blod, eller föra deras namn i minom mun.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts for another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names upon my lips.
5 Men Herren är mitt gods och min del; du uppehåller min arfvedel.
Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup. Thou maintain my lot.
6 Lotten är mig fallen i det lustiga; mig är en skön arfvedel tillfallen.
The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places. Yea, I have a fine heritage.
7 Jag lofvar Herran, den mig råd gifvit hafver; tukta mig också mine njurar om nattena.
I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yea, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 Jag hafver Herran för ögon alltid: ty han är mig på högra handene; derföre skall jag väl blifva vid mig.
I beheld Jehovah always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Derföre gläder sig mitt hjerta, och min ära är glad, och mitt kött skall säkert ligga.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices. My flesh also shall dwell in hope.
10 Ty du skall icke låta mina själ uti helvete; och icke tillstädja, att din Helige ser förgängelse. (Sheol h7585)
For thou will not leave my soul to Sheol, nor will thou allow thy holy man to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
11 Du kungör mig vägen till lifvet; för dig är glädje tillfyllest, och lustigt väsende på dine högra hand evinnerliga.
Thou made known to me the path of life. Thou will fill me of joy with thy countenance.
