1 Halleluja. Lofver Herrans Namn; lofver, I Herrans tjenare;
Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye the name of Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah,
2 I som stån i Herrans hus, uti vår Guds gårdar.
ye who stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Lofver Herran, ty Herren är god; lofsjunger hans Namn, ty det är ljufligit.
Praise ye Jehovah, for Jehovah is good. Sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant.
4 Ty Herren hafver utvalt sig Jacob; Israel till sin egendom.
For Jehovah has chosen Jacob to himself, Israel for his own possession.
5 Ty jag vet, att Herren är stor; och vår Herre för alla gudar.
For I know that Jehovah is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Allt det Herren vill, det gör han, i himmelen, på jordene, i hafvet, och i all djup;
Whatever Jehovah pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps,
7 Den der låter skyarna uppgå af jordenes ända; den der ljungelden gör, samt med regnet; den der vädret utu hemlig rum komma låter;
who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,
8 Den der förstfödingen slog uti Egypten, både af menniskor och af boskap;
who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast,
9 Och lät sina tecken och under komma öfver dig, Egypti land, öfver Pharao och alla hans tjenare;
who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants,
10 Den mång folk slog, och drap mägtiga Konungar:
who smote many nations, and killed mighty kings-
11 Sihon, de Amoreers Konung, och Og, Konungen i Basan, och all Konungarike i Canaan;
Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan-
12 Och gaf deras land till arfs, till arfs sino folke Israel.
and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
13 Herre, ditt Namn varar i evighet; din åminnelse, Herre, varar förutan ända.
Thy name, O Jehovah, is forever, thy memorial, O Jehovah, throughout all generations.
14 Ty Herren skall döma sitt folk, och vara sina tjenare nådelig.
For Jehovah will judge his people, and will relent concerning his servants.
15 De Hedningars gudar äro silfver och guld, med menniskors händer gjorde.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
16 De hafva mun, och tala intet; de hafva ögon, och se intet.
They have mouths, but they speak not. They have eyes, but they see not.
17 De hafva öron, och höra intet, och ingen ande är i deras mun.
They have ears, but they hear not, nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18 De som sådana göra, äro lika så; alle de som hoppas på dem.
Those who make them shall be like them, yea, everyone who trusts in them.
19 Israels hus lofve Herran; lofver Herran, I af Aarons hus.
O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah. O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah.
20 I af Levi hus, lofver Herran; I som frukten Herran, lofver Herran.
O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah. Ye who fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
21 Lofvad vare Herren af Zion, den i Jerusalem bor. Halleluja.
Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.
