4 Mosebok 27
1 Och Zelaphehads döttrar, Hephers sons, Gileads sons, Machirs sons, Manasse sons, utaf Manasse slägt, Josephs sons, benämnda Mahela, Noa, Hogla, Milca och Thirza, kommo fram;
Then to Moses came the daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher son of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh, of the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. These were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Tirzah.
2 Och de trädde för Mose, och för Presten Eleazar, och för Förstarna, och hela menighetena, inför dörrena af vittnesbördsens tabernakel, och sade:
They stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders, and before all the community at the entrance to the tent of meeting. They said,
3 Vår fader är döder i öknene, och han var icke med i den menighetene, som uppsatte sig emot Herran i Korahs upplopp; utan är i sine synd död blefven, och hade inga söner.
“Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among those who conspired against Yahweh in the company of Korah. He died for his own sin, and he had no sons.
4 Hvi skall då vår faders namn borto blifva utu hans slägt, ändock att han ingen son hade? Gifver oss ock arfvegods ibland vår faders bröder.
Why should our father's name be taken away from among his clan members because he had no son? Give us land among our father's relatives.”
5 Mose förde deras sak inför Herran.
So Moses brought their case before Yahweh.
6 Och Herren sade till honom:
Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
7 Zelaphehads döttrar hafva rätt sagt; du skall ock gifva dem arfvegods med deras faders bröder, och skall deras faders arf vända dem till.
“Zelophehad's daughters are speaking correctly. You must certainly give them land as an inheritance among their father's relatives, and you must ensure that their father's inheritance passes on to them.
8 Och säg Israels barnom: Om någor dör och hafver inga söner, så skolen I hans arf gifva hans döttrar.
You must speak to the people of Israel and say, 'If a man dies and has no son, then you must cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.
9 Hafver han inga döttrar, skolen I gifva det hans bröder.
If he has no daughter, then you must give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 Hafver han inga bröder, så skolen I gifva det hans faderbroder.
If he has no brothers, then you must give his inheritance to his father's brothers.
11 Hafver han icke faderbroder, skolen I gifva det hans nästa fränder, som honom skylde äro i hans slägt, att de taga det in. Det skall vara Israels barnom för en lag och rätt, såsom Herren budit hafver Mose.
If his father has no brothers, then you must give his inheritance to his nearest relative in his clan, and he must take it for his own. This will be a law established by decree for the people of Israel, as Yahweh has commanded me.'”
12 Och Herren sade till Mose: Stig upp på berget Abarim, och bese landet, som jag Israels barn gifva skall;
Yahweh said to Moses, “Go up the mountains of Abarim and look at the land that I have given to the people of Israel.
13 Och när du det sett hafver, skall du samka dig till ditt folk, såsom din broder Aaron samkad är;
After you have seen it, you, too, must be gathered to your people, like Aaron your brother.
14 Efter det I min ord olydige voren uti den öknene Zin, öfver menighetenes träto, då I mig helga skullen genom vattnet för dem. Det är det trätovattnet i Kades uti den öknene Zin.
This will happen because you two rebelled against my command in the wilderness of Zin. There, when the water flowed from the rock, in your anger you failed to honor me as holy before the eyes of the whole community.” These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
15 Och Mose talade med Herranom, och sade:
Then Moses spoke to Yahweh and said,
16 Herren Gud öfver allt lefvande kött sätte en man öfver menighetena,
“May you, Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all humanity, appoint a man over the community,
17 Som för dem ut och in går, och förer dem ut och in, att Herrans menighet icke skall vara såsom får utan herda.
a man who may go out and come in before them and lead them out and bring them in, so that your community is not like sheep that have no shepherd.”
18 Och Herren sade till Mose: Tag Josua till dig, Nuns son, hvilken en man är, der Anden uti är, och lägg dina händer på honom.
Yahweh said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom my Spirit lives, and lay your hand on him.
19 Och haf honom fram för Presten Eleazar, och för hela menighetena; och bjud honom för deras ögon;
Place him before Eleazar the priest and before all the community, and command him before their eyes to lead them.
20 Och lägg dina härlighet uppå honom, att hela menigheten af Israels barn är honom lydig.
You must put some of your authority on him, so that all the community of the people of Israel may obey him.
21 Och han skall gå fram för Presten Eleazar; han skall rådfråga för honom genom Ljusens sätt inför Herranom. Efter hans mun skola ut och in gå, både han och all Israels barn med honom, och hela menigheten.
He will go before Eleazar the priest to seek my will for him by the decisions of the Urim. It will be at his command that the people will go out and come in, both he and all the people of Israel with him, the whole community.”
22 Mose gjorde såsom Herren honom böd; och tog Josua, och ställde honom fram för Presten Eleazar, och för hela menighetena;
So Moses did as Yahweh had commanded him. He took Joshua and placed him before Eleazar the priest and all the community.
23 Och lade sina hand uppå honom, och böd honom, såsom Herren med Mose talat hade.
He laid his hands on him and commanded him to lead, as Yahweh had commanded him to do.
