4 Mosebok 21
1 Och då den Cananeen, Konungen i Arad, som söderut bor, hörde att Israel inkom genom spejares väg, stridde han emot Israel, och förde några af dem fångna.
And whanne Chananei, the kyng of Arad, that dwellide at the south, hadde herd this, that is, that Israel cam bi the weye of aspieris, he fauyt ayens hem; and Chananei was ouercomere and ledde pray of Israel.
2 Då lofvade Israel Herranom ett löfte, och sade: Om du gifver detta folket under mina hand, så skall jag gifva deras städer tillspillo.
And Israel bounde hym sylf bi avow to the Lord, and seide, If thou schalt bitake this puple in myn hond, Y schal do awei `the citees therof.
3 Och Herren hörde Israels bön, och gaf dem de Cananeer, och de gjorde dem tillspillo med deras städer; och kallade det rummet Horma.
And the Lord herde the preieris of Israel, and bitook the Chananey; and Israel killid hym, and distruyede hise citees; and clepide the name of that place Horma, that is, cursyng, `ethir hangyng up.
4 Sedan drogo de ifrå berget Hor, på den vägen åt röda hafvet, att de skulle draga omkring de Edomeers land. Och folket vardt ledse på vägen.
`Forsothe thei yeden forth also fro the hil of Hor, bi the weie that ledith to the reed see, that thei schulden cumpasse the lond of Edom; and it bigan to anoye the puple, of the weie and trauel.
5 Och folket talade emot Gud, och emot Mose: Hvi hafver du fört oss utur Egypten, att vi skulle dö i öknene? Ty här är hvarken bröd eller vatten, och vår själ vämjar öfver denna lösa maten.
And the puple spak ayens the Lord and Moises, and seide, Whi leddist thou vs out of Egipt, that we schulden die in wildirnesse? breed failith, watris ben not; oure soule wlatith now on this `meete moost liyt.
6 Då sände Herren ibland folket brännande ormar; de beto folket, så att mycket folk i Israel blef dödt.
Wherfor the Lord sente `firid serpentis in to the puple; at the woundis of whiche serpentis, and the dethis of ful many men,
7 Så kommo de till Mose, och sade: Vi hafve syndat, att vi emot Herran och emot dig talat hafve; bed Herran, att han tager dessa ormarna ifrån oss. Mose bad för folket.
thei camen to Moyses, and seiden, We synneden, for we spaken ayens the Lord and thee; preie thou, that he take awey fro vs the serpentis.
8 Då sade Herren till Mose: Gör dig en kopparorm, och res honom upp för ett tecken; hvilken som biten är, och ser uppå honom, han skall lefva.
And Moises preiede for the puple; and the Lord seide to hym, Make thou a serpent of bras, and sette thou it for a signe; he that is smytun and biholdith it, schal lyue.
9 Så gjorde Mose en kopparorm, och reste honom upp för ett tecken, och om någor vardt biten af orme, så såg han på den kopparormen, och blef vid lif.
Therfor Moyses made a serpent of bras, and settide for a signe; and men smytun and biholdynge it, weren heelid.
10 Och Israels barn drogo ut, och lägrade sig i Oboth.
And the sones of Israel yeden forth,
11 Och ifrån Oboth drogo de ut, och lägrade sig i Ijim vid berget Abarim, uti den öknene tvärtöfver Moab österut.
and settiden tentis in Oboth; fro whennus thei yeden forth, and settiden tentis in Neabarym, in the wildirnesse, that biholdith Moab, ayens the eest coost.
12 Dädan drogo de, och lägrade sig vid den bäcken Sared.
And thei moueden fro thennus, and camen to the stronde of Zareth;
13 Dädan drogo de, och lägrade sig på denna sidone vid Arnon, hvilket i öknene är, och sträcker sig ut ifrå de Amoreers landsändar; ty Arnon är Moabs landamäre, emellan Moab och de Amoreer.
which thei leften, and settiden tentis ayens Arnon, which is in the deseert, and apperith in the coostis of Amorrei. Forsothe Arnon is the terme of Moab, and departith Moabitis and Ammoreis.
14 Deraf säger man uti den bokene om Herrans strider: Den höga bergklippan allt intill skyn, och intill Arnons bäck;
Wherfor it is seid in the book of batels of the Lord, As he dide in the reed see, so he schal do in the strondis of Arnon;
15 Och intill bäcksens källo, hvilken räcker allt intill den staden Ar, och böjer sig, och är Moabs gränsa.
the harde rochis of the strondis weren bowid, that tho schulen reste in Arnon, and schulden ligge in the coostis of Moabitis.
16 Och dädan drogo de till brunnen; det är den brunnen, der Herren af sade till Mose: Församla folket, jag vill gifva dem vatten.
Fro that place the pit apperide, of which the Lord spak to Moyses, Gadere thou the puple, and Y schal yyue watir to it.
17 Då söng Israel denna visona, och söngo emot hvarannan öfver brunnen:
Thanne Israel soong this song, The pit stie;
18 Denna är den brunnen, som de Förstar grafvit hafva; de ädle i folket hafva grafvit honom, genom läraren och deras stafrar. Ifrå denne öknene drogo de till Mattana;
thei sungen togidere, The pit which the princes diggiden, and the duykis of the multitude maden redi, in the yyuere of the lawe, and in her stauys. And thei yeden forth fro the wildirnesse to Mathana,
19 Och ifrå Mattana till Nahaliel, och ifrå Nahaliel till Bamoth;
fro Mathana to Naaliel, fro Naaliel in to Bamoth;
20 Och ifrå Bamoth till den dalen, som ligger i Moabs mark, vid det höga berget Pisga, som vet åt öknene.
Bamoth is a valey in the cuntrey of Moab, in the cop of Phasga, that biholdith ayens the deseert.
21 Och Israel sände båd till Sihon, de Amoreers Konung, och lät säga honom:
Forsothe Israel sente messangeris to Seon, kyng of Ammorreis, and seide,
22 Låt mig draga igenom ditt land; vi vilje intet vika in på åkrar, eller in på vingårdar; vi vilje icke heller dricka brunnvattnet; landstråtena vilje vi fara, tilldess vi komme genom dina landsändar.
Y biseche that it be leueful to me to passe thorou thi loond; we schulen not bowe in to the feeldis and vyneris; we schulen not drynke watris of pittis; we schulen go in the kyngis weie, til we passen thi termes.
23 Men Sihon tillstadde icke Israels barn gå igenom sina landsändar; utan församlade allt sitt folk, och drog emot Israel i öknena. Och som han kom till Jahza, stridde han emot Israel.
Which nolde graunte that Israel schulde passe thury hise coostis, but rather, whanne the oost was gaderid, he yede out ayens Israel, in to deseert. And he cam in to Yasa, and fauyt ayens Israel;
24 Men Israel slog honom med svärdsegg, och tog hans land in, ifrån Arnon allt intill Jabbok, och allt intill Ammons barn; förty Ammons landsändar voro faste.
of whom he was smytun in the scharpnesse of swerd, and his lond was weldid fro Arnon `til to Jeboth and `the sones of Amon; for the termes of Amonytis weren holdun bi strong help.
25 Alltså tog Israel alla dessa städerna, och bodde i alla de Amoreers städer, i Hesbon, och alla hans döttrar.
Therfor Israel took alle `the citees of hym, and dwelliden in the citees of Amorrei, that is, in Esebon, and hise townes.
26 Ty staden Hesbon hörde Sihon Amoreers Konunge till, och han hade tillförene stridt med de Moabiters Konung, och vunnit honom af all hans land, allt intill Arnon.
The citee of Esebon was Seons, kyng of Ammorei, which Seon fauyt ayens the kyng of Moab, and took al the lond that was of his lordschip, `til to Arnon.
27 Deraf säger man i ordspråket: Kommer till Hesbon, att man bygger och upprättar den staden Sihon.
Therfor it is seid in prouerbe, Come ye in to Esebon, be it bildid, and maad the citee of Seon;
28 Ty en eld är utgången af Hesbon, en låge af den staden Sihon; han hafver uppfrätit Ar de Moabiters; och de der bo i de höjder Arnon.
fier yede out of Esebon, flawme yede out of the citee `ethir greet castel of Seon, and deuouryde Ar of Moabitis, and the dwelleris of the `hiye places of Arnon.
29 Ve dig, Moab; du Chemos folk äst förgånget. Man hafver hans söner slagit på flyktena, och fört hans döttrar fångna till Sihon, de Amoreers Konung.
Moab, wo to thee! thou, puple of Chamos, perischidist; it yaf the sones therof in to fliyt, and the douytris in to caitifte to Seon, kyng of Ammoreis;
30 Deras härlighet är vorden omintet, ifrå Hesbon intill Dibon; hon är förstörd allt intill Nopha, hvilken räcker allt intill Medeba.
the yok of hem perischide, fro Esebon `til to Dibon; the wery men camen in to Jophe, and `til to Medaba.
31 Så bodde Israel uti de Amoreers lande.
And so Israel dwellide in the lond of Ammorrey.
32 Och Mose sände ut spejare till Jaeser, och de vunno dess döttrar, och togo de Amoreer in, som deruti voro;
And Moises sente men that schulden aspie Jaser, whos `townes thei token, and weldiden the dwelleris.
33 Och vände om, och drogo uppåt den vägen till Basan. Då drog Og, Konungen i Basan, ut emot dem med allt sitt folk, till att strida i Edrei.
And thei turniden hem silf, and stieden bi the weie of Basan. And Og, the kyng of Basan, with al his puple cam ayens hem, to fiyte in Edray.
34 Och Herren sade till Mose: Frukta dig intet för honom; ty jag hafver gifvit honom i dina hand med land och folk; och du skall göra med honom, såsom du med Sihon, de Amoreers Konung, gjort hafver, hvilken i Hesbon bodde.
And the Lord seide to Moises, Drede thou not hym, for Y haue bitake hym, and al his loond, and puple, in thin hoond; and thou schalt do to hym as thou didist to Seon, kyng of Ammorreis, the dwellere of Esebon.
35 Och de slogo honom och hans söner, och allt hans folk, tilldess att ingen var igen; och togo det landet in.
Therfor thei smytiden `bothe hym with hise sones and al his puple, `til to deeth; and thei weldiden `the lond of hym.
