4 Mosebok 16
1 Och Korah, Jizears son, Kehats sons, Levi sons, tog till sig Dathan och Abiram, Eliabs söner, och On, Peleths son, af Rubens söner.
And Core the son of Isaar the son of Caath the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiron, sons of Eliab, and Aun the son of Phaleth the son of Ruben, spoke;
2 Och de hofvo sig upp emot Mose, med några män af Israels barn, tuhundrade och femtio myndige i menighetene, rådherrar och ärlige män.
and rose up before Moses, and two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, chiefs of the assembly, chosen councillors, and men of renown.
3 Och de församlade sig emot Mose och Aaron, och sade till dem: I gören allt för mycket; ty hela menigheten är helig, och Herren är ibland dem; hvi upphäfven I eder öfver Herrans menighet?
They rose up against Moses and Aaron, and said, Let it be enough for you that all the congregation [are] holy, and the Lord [is] amongst them; and why do you set up yourselves against the congregation of the Lord?
4 Då Mose det hörde, föll han uppå sitt ansigte;
And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face.
5 Och sade till Korah, och hans hela parti: I morgon varder Herren kungörandes, hvilka honom tillhöra, hvilken helig är, och honom offra skall; den han utväljer, han skall offra honom.
And he spoke to Core and all his assembly, saying, God has visited and known those that are his and who are holy, and has brought them to himself; and whom he has chosen for himself, he has brought to himself.
6 Detta görer: Tager för eder rökopannor, Korah och hans hela parti;
This do you: take to yourselves censers, Core and all his company;
7 Och lägger der eld in, och kaster rökverk deruppå för Herranom i morgon. Hvilken som Herren utväljer, han vare helig; I göret allt för mycket, I Levi barn.
and put fire on them, and put incense on them before the Lord to-morrow; and it shall come to pass that the man whom the Lord has chosen, he shall be holy: let it be enough for you, you sons of Levi.
8 Och Mose sade till Korah: Käre, hörer dock, I Levi barn;
And Moses said to Core, Listen to me, you sons of Levi.
9 Är det eder icke nog, att Israels Gud hafver afskiljt eder ifrå den meniga Israel, att I skolen offra honom, så att I skolen tjena honom i Herrans tabernakels ämbete, och träda fram för menighetena till att tjena henne?
Is it a little thing for you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, and brought you near to himself to minister in the services of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the tabernacle to minister for them?
10 Han hafver tagit dig, och alla dina bröder, Levi barn, samt med dig till sig, och I faren nu ock efter Presterskapet.
And he has brought you near and all your brethren the sons of Levi with you, and do you seek to be priests also?
11 Du och ditt hela parti gören uppror emot Herran: Hvad är Aaron, att I knorren emot honom?
Thus [it is with] you and all your congregation which is gathered together against God: and who is Aaron, that you murmur against him?
12 Och Mose sände bort och lät kalla Dathan och Abiram, Eliabs söner; men de sade: Vi komme intet ditupp.
And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiron sons of Eliab; and they said, We will not go up.
13 Är det icke nog, att du hafver fört oss utu landet, der mjölk och hannog uti flyter, att du skulle dräpa oss i öknene; skall du ännu dertill vara herre öfver oss?
Is it a little thing that you have brought us up to a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, [and] that you altogether rule over us?
14 Skönliga hafver du fört oss in uti det land, der mjölk och hannog uti flyter, och hafver gifvit oss åkrar och vingårdar till arfvedel; vill du ock stinga folke ögonen ut? Vi komme intet ditupp.
You are a prince, and have you brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, and have you given us an inheritance of land and vineyards? would you have put out the eyes of those men? we will not go up.
15 Då förgrymmade sig Mose ganska svårliga, och sade till Herran: Vänd dig icke till deras spisoffer; jag hafver icke tagit dem en åsna ifrå, och ingen af dem något gjort emot.
And Moses was exceeding indignant, and said to the Lord, Do you take no heed to their sacrifice: I have not taken away the desire of any one of them, neither have I hurt any one of them.
16 Och han sade till Korah: Du och ditt hela parti skolen i morgon vara för Herranom, du, de ock, och Aaron.
And Moses said to Core, Sanctify your company, and be ready before the Lord, you and Aaron and they, to-morrow.
17 Och hvar tage sina rökopanno, och lägge rökverk deruppå, och går fram för Herran, hvar med sine panno, det äro tuhundrade och femtio pannor.
And take each man his censer, and you shall put incense upon them, and shall bring each one his censer before the Lord, two hundred and fifty censers, and you and Aaron shall bring each his censer.
18 Och hvardera tog sina panno, och lade der eld in, och kastade rökverk deruppå, och gingo in för dörrena af vittnesbördsens tabernakel; och Mose och Aaron desslikes.
And each man took his censer, and they put on them fire, and laid incense on them; and Moses and Aaron stood by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
19 Och Korah församlade emot dem hela menighetena, inför dörrena af vittnesbördsens tabernakel. Och Herrans härlighet syntes för hela menighetene.
And Core raised up against them all his company by the door of the tabernacle of witness; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the congregation.
20 Och Herren talade med Mose och Aaron, och sade:
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
21 Skiljer eder ifrå denna menighetene, att jag med hast må förgöra dem.
Separate your selves from the midst of this congregation, and I will consume them at once.
22 Men de föllo på sitt ansigte, och sade: Ack Gud, allt kötts andas Gud! Om en man syndat hafver, vill du då hämnas öfver hela menighetena?
And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, the God of spirits and of all flesh, if one man has sinned, [shall] the wrath of the Lord [be] upon the whole congregation?
23 Och Herren talade med Mose, och sade:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
24 Tala till menighetena, och säg: Kommer upp ifrå Korahs, och Dathans, och Abirams tjäll.
Speak to the congregation, saying, Depart from the company of Core round about.
25 Och Mose stod upp, och gick till Dathan och Abiram; och de äldste af Israel följde honom efter;
And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiron, and all the elders of Israel went with him.
26 Och talade till menighetena, och sade: Går ifrå dessa ogudaktiga menniskors tjäll, och kommer intet vid något det dem tillhörer, att I icke tilläfventyrs förgås uti någon deras synd.
And he spoke to the congregation, saying, Separate yourselves from the tents of these stubborn men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, lest you be consumed with them in all their sin.
27 Och de gingo upp ifrå Korahs, Dathans och Abirams tjäll; men Dathan och Abiram gingo ut, och trädde i dörrena af deras tjäll med deras hustrur, söner och barn.
And they stood aloof from the tent of Core round about; and Dathan and Abiron went forth and stood by the doors of their tents, and their wives and their children and their store.
28 Och Mose sade: Deruppå skolen I märka, att Herren mig sändt hafver, att jag alla dessa gerningar göra skulle; och icke af mino hjerta.
And Moses said, Hereby shall you know that the Lord has sent me to perform all these works, that [I have] not [done them] of myself.
29 Om de dö såsom alla menniskor, eller hemsökta varda, såsom alla menniskor hemsökta varda; så hafver Herren icke sändt mig.
If these men shall die according to the death of all men, if also their visitation shall be according to the visitation of all men, then the Lord has not sent me.
30 Men om Herren gör här något nytt, så att jorden öppnar sin mun, och uppslukar dem, med allt det de hafva, att de lefvande fara neder i helvetet; så skolen I förstå, att desse männerna hafva försmädat Herran. (Sheol h7585)
But if the Lord shall show by a wonder, and the earth shall open her mouth and swallow them up, and their houses, and their tents, and all that belongs to them, and they shall go down alive into Hades, then you shall know that these men have provoked the Lord. (Sheol h7585)
31 Och som han all dessa orden uttalat hade, remnade jorden under dem;
And when he ceased speaking all these words, the ground clave asunder beneath them.
32 Och lät sin mun upp, och uppslukte dem med deras hus, med alla de menniskor, som när Korah voro, och med alla deras håfvor.
And the ground opened, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that were with Core, and their cattle.
33 Och de foro lefvande neder i helvetet, med allt det de hade; och jorden öfvertäckte dem; och de förgingos utu menighetene. (Sheol h7585)
And they went down and all that they had, alive into Hades; and the ground covered them, and they perished from the midst of the congregation. (Sheol h7585)
34 Och hela Israel, som omkring dem var, flydde för deras skris skull; ty de sade: Att jorden icke ock uppslukar oss.
And all Israel round about them fled from the sound of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up [also].
35 Dertill for en eld ut ifrå Herranom, och upptärde de tuhundrade och femtio män, som det rökverket offrade.
And fire went forth from the Lord, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
36 Och Herren talade med Mose, och sade:
And the Lord said to Moses,
37 Säg Eleazar, Prestens Aarons son, att han upptager rökopannorna utu brandenom, och förströr elden hit och dit;
and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, Take up the brazen censers out of the midst of the men that have been burnt, and scatter the strange fire yonder, for they have sanctified the censers
38 Förty de syndares pannor äro helgade genom deras själar, att man må slå dem i skifvor, och hänga dem på altaret; ty de äro offrade för Herranom, och helgade, och skola vara Israels barnom ett tecken.
of these sinners against their own souls, and do you make them beaten plates a covering to the altar, because they were brought before the Lord and hallowed; and they became a sign to the children of Israel.
39 Och Eleazar Presten tog de kopparpannorna, som de uppbrände män uti offrat hade, och slog dem i skifvor, till att hänga vid altaret;
And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest took the brazen censers, which the men who had been burnt brought near, and they put them as a covering on the altar:
40 Israels barnom till en åminnelse, att ingen främmande skulle gå fram, som icke är af Aarons säd, till att offra rökverk för Herranom; på det honom icke skall gå såsom Korah och hans parti, såsom Herren honom sagt hade genom Mose.
a memorial to the children of Israel that no stranger might draw near, who is not of the seed of Aaron, to offer incense before the Lord; so he shall not be as Core and as they that conspired with him, as the Lord spoke to him by the hand of Moses.
41 Den andra morgonen knorrade hela menigheten af Israels barn emot Mose och Aaron, och sade: I hafven dräpit Herrans folk.
And the children of Israel murmured the next day against Moses and Aaron, saying, You have killed the people of the Lord.
42 Och då menigheten församlade sig emot Mose och Aaron, vände de sig till vittnesbördsens tabernakel; och si, molnskyn öfvertäckte det, och Herrans härlighet syntes.
And it came to pass when the congregation combined against Moses and Aaron, that they ran impetuously to the tabernacle of witness; and the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
43 Och Mose och Aaron gingo in för vittnesbördsens tabernakel.
And Moses and Aaron went in, in front of the tabernacle of witness.
44 Och Herren talade med Mose, och sade:
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
45 Går ut ifrå denna menighetene; jag vill med hast förgöra dem. Och de föllo uppå sitt ansigte.
Depart out of the midst of this congregation, and I will consume them at once: and they fell upon their faces.
46 Och Mose sade till Aaron: Tag rökopannona, och låt der eld in af altaret, och kasta rökverk deruppå, och gack snarliga till menighetena, och försona dem; förty vrede är utgången af Herranom, och plågan hafver begynt.
And Moses said to Aaron, Take a censer, and put on it fire from the altar, and put incense on it, and carry it away quickly into the camp, and make atonement for them; for wrath is gone forth from the presence of the Lord, it has begun to destroy the people.
47 Och Aaron tog, såsom Mose sade honom, och lopp midt igenom menighetena; och si, plågan var uppågången ibland folket och han rökte, och försonade folket;
And Aaron took as Moses spoke to him, and ran amongst the congregation, for already the plague had begun amongst the people; and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
48 Och stod emellan de döda och de lefvande; då vardt plågan förtagen.
And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague ceased.
49 Men de som af plågone döde voro, voro fjortontusend och sjuhundrad, undantagnom dem som förgingos uti Korahs uppror.
And they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those that died on account of Core.
50 Och Aaron kom igen till Mose för dörrena af vittnesbördsens tabernakel; och plågan var förtagen.
And Aaron returned to Moses to the door of the tabernacle of witness, and the plague ceased.
