Matteus 26
1 Och det begaf sig, när Jesus hade lyktat all dessa ord, sade han till sina Lärjungar:
When Yeshua [Salvation] had finished all these words, he said to his disciples,
2 I veten att två dagar härefter varder Påska; och menniskones Son skall öfverantvardas till att korsfästas.
“You know that the Pesac ·Passover· is two days away (Nissan 12), and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be nailed to the execution-stake.”
3 Då församlade sig de öfverste Presterna och de Skriftlärde, och de äldste i folket, uti den öfversta Prestens palats, som het Caiphas;
Then the chief priests, the Torah-Teachers, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out].
4 Och rådslogo, huru de måtte få gripa Jesum med list, och dräpa honom.
They took counsel together that they might take Yeshua [Salvation] by deceit, and kill him.
5 Dock sade de: Icke i högtiden, att ett upplopp icke varder i folkena.
But they said, “Not during the festival of Passover, lest a riot occur among the people.”
6 Då nu Jesus var i Bethanien, i den spitelska Simons hus,
Now when Yeshua [Salvation] was in Bethany [House of affliction], in the house of Simeon [Hearing] the leper,
7 Steg en qvinna fram till honom, och hade ett glas med dyr smörjelse; och göt det på hans hufvud, der han satt vid bord.
a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.
8 Då hans Lärjungar det sågo, vordo de misslynte, och sade: Hvad gjordes denna förspillning behof?
But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
9 Denna smörjelse måtte man hafva väl dyrt sålt, och gifvit de fattiga.
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.”
10 När Jesus det förnam, sade han till dem: Hvi gören I denna qvinnone illa tillfrids? ty hon hafver gjort med mig en god gerning.
However, knowing this, Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? Because she has done a good work for me.
11 I hafven alltid fattiga när eder; men alltid hafven I icke mig.
For you always have the poor with you; but you don’t always have me.
12 Det hon hafver utgjutit denna smörjelsen på min lekamen, det hafver hon gjort mig till begrafning.
For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
13 Sannerliga säger jag eder, hvar som helst i hela verldene detta Evangelium varder predikadt, skall ock detta, som hon gjorde, sagdt varda henne till åminnelse.
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”
14 Då gick en af de tolf, som het Judas Ischarioth, bort till de öfversta Presterna;
Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot [Praised Dagger-man], went to the chief priests,
15 Och sade: Hvad viljen I gifva mig, att jag förråder eder honom? Och de vordo öfverens med honom om tretio silfpenningar.
and said, “What are you willing to give me, that I should deliver him to you?” They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Och ifrå den tiden sökte han tillfälle, att han måtte förråda honom.
From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 Men på första Sötbrödsdagen gingo Lärjungarna till Jesum, och sade till honom: Hvar vill du, att vi skole tillreda dig Påskalambet?
Now on the first of Matzah ·Unleavened bread· (Nissan 14), the disciples came to Yeshua [Salvation], saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare your Seder ·Order / Passover meal·?”
18 Då sade han: Går in i staden till en, och säger honom: Mästaren låter säga dig: Min tid är hardt när; när dig vill jag hålla Påska, med mina Lärjungar.
He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Rabbi ·Teacher· says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Pesac ·Passover· at your house with my disciples.”’”
19 Och Lärjungarna gjorde som Jesus befallde dem, och tillredde Påskalambet.
The disciples did as Yeshua [Salvation] commanded them, and they prepared the Seder ·Order / Passover meal·.
20 Och om aftonen satte han sig till bords med de tolf.
Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.
21 Och vid de åto, sade han: Sannerliga säger jag eder, en af eder skall förråda mig.
As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22 Då vordo de svårliga bedröfvade, och begynte hvar i sin stad säga till honom: Herre, icke är jag den samme?
They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It is not me, is it, Lord?”
23 Då svarade han, och sade: Den, som med mig doppade handena i fatet, han skall förråda mig.
He answered, “He who dipped his matzah ·unleavened bread· with me in the dish (of bitter herbs), the same will betray me.
24 Menniskones Son varder gåendes, som skrifvet är om honom; men ve den mennisko, af hvilko menniskones Son varder förrådd; det vore de menniskone bättre, att hon aldrig hade född varit.
The Son of Man will die just as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Då svarade Judas, som förrådde honom, och sade: Mästar, icke är jag den samme? Sade han till honom: Du sadet.
Judas [Praised], who betrayed him, answered, “It is not me, is it, Rabbi ·Teacher·?” He said to him, “You said it.”
26 Men när de åto, tog Jesus brödet; tackade, och bröt, och gaf Lärjungomen, och sade: Tager, äter; detta är min lekamen.
As they were eating, Yeshua [Salvation] took matzah ·unleavened bread·, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
27 Och han tog kalken, och tackade, gaf dem, och sade: Dricker häraf alle.
He took the (third) cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,
28 Ty detta är min blod, dess nya Testamentsens, hvilken utgjuten varder för mångom, till syndernas förlåtelse.
for this is my blood of the new covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, which is poured out for many for the remission of abstract sins ·miss the marks·.
29 Jag säger eder: Härefter skall jag icke dricka af denna vinträs frukt, intill den dagen jag varder det drickandes nytt med eder i mins Faders rike.
But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in 'Avi ·my Father·’s Kingdom.”
30 Och när de hade sagt lofsången, gingo de ut till Oljoberget.
When they had sung the Hallel Psalms [Praise Praises], they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Då sade Jesus till dem: I denna nattene skolen I alle förargas i mig; ty det är skrifvet: Jag skall slå herdan, och fåren af hjorden skola varda förskingrad.
Then Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “All of you will be made to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant· because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 Men när jag är uppstånden igen, vill jag gå fram för eder i Galileen.
But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee [District, Circuit].”
33 Då svarade Petrus, och sade till honom: Om än alle förargades i dig, så skall jag dock likväl aldrig förargas.
But Peter [Rock] answered him, “Even if all men feel scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant· because of you, I will never be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, never.”
34 Sade Jesus till honom: Sannerliga säger jag dig, att i desso nattene, förr än hanen gal, skall du neka mig tre resor.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
35 Sade Petrus till honom: Om jag skulle än dö med dig, vill jag icke neka dig. Sammaledes sade ock alle Lärjungarna.
Peter [Rock] said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.
36 Då kom Jesus med dem på den platsen, som kallas Gethsemane, och sade till Lärjungarna: Sitter här, så länge jag går dit bort, och beder.
Then Yeshua [Salvation] came with them to a place called Gethsemane [Olive oil press], and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”
37 Och han tog Petrum till sig, och de två Zebedei söner, och begynte bedröfvas och ängslas.
He took with him Peter [Rock] and the two sons of Zebedee [Bestowed by Yah], and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.
38 Då sade Jesus till dem: Min själ är bedröfvad intill döden; blifver här, och vaker med mig.
Then he said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch with me.”
39 Och han gick litet ifrå dem, föll ned på sitt ansigte, bad, och sade: Min Fader, är det möjeligit, så gånge denne kalken ifrå mig; dock icke som jag vill, utan som du.
He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “'Avi ·my Father·, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
40 Och han kom till Lärjungarna, och fann dem sofvande; och sade till Petrum: Så förmådden I icke vaka ena stund med mig?
He came to the disciples, and found them sleeping, and said to Peter [Rock], “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?
41 Vaker och beder, att I fallen icke uti frestelse; anden är viljog, men köttet är svagt.
Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Åter gick han bort annan gång, och bad, sägandes: Min Fader, om det är icke möjeligit att denne kalken går ifrå mig, med mindre jag dricker honom, så ske din vilje.
Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, “'Avi ·my Father·, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
43 Så kom han, och fann dem åter sofvande; ty deras ögon voro tung.
He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44 Och han lät då blifva dem, och gick åter bort, och bad tredje gången, sägandes samma orden.
He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
45 Då kom han till sina Lärjungar, och sade till dem: Ja, sofver nu, och hviler eder; si, stunden är kommen, och menniskones Son skall antvardas i syndares händer.
Then he came to his disciples, and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinner ·devoted to missing the mark and without share in the goal·.
46 Står upp, och låter oss gå; si, den är här, som mig förråder.
Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
47 Och vid han än talade, si, då kom Judas, en af de tolf, och med honom en stor skare, med svärd och med stafrar, utsände af de öfversta Presterna, och af de äldsta i folket.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judas [Praised], one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with machairon ·machetes, small sword knives· and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Men den, som förrådde honom, hade gifvit dem ett tecken, sägandes: Hvilken jag kysser, den äret; tager honom.
Now he who betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, “Whoever I phileo ·affectionately love, kiss·, he is the one. Seize him.”
49 Då steg han hastigt fram till Jesum, och sade: Hel Rabbi; och kysste honom.
Immediately he came to Yeshua [Salvation], and said, “Shalom ·Complete peace·, Rabbi ·Teacher·!” and kissed him.
50 Då sade Jesus till honom: Min vän, hvarefter kommer du? Då stego de fram, och båro händer på Jesum, och grepo honom.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Yeshua [Salvation], and took him.
51 Och si, en af dem, som voro med Jesu, räckte ut handena, drog ut sitt svärd, och slog dens öfversta Prestens tjenare, och afhögg hans öra.
Behold, one of those who were with Yeshua [Salvation] stretched out his hand, and drew his machaira ·machete, small sword knife·, and struck the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear.
52 Då sade Jesus till honom: Stick ditt svärd i sitt rum; ty alle de som taga till svärd, de skola förgås med svärd.
Then Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Put your machaira ·machete, small sword knife· back into its place, for all those who take the machaira ·machete, small sword knife· will die by the machaira ·machete, small sword knife·.
53 Eller menar du, jag kunde icke bedja min Fader, att han skickade till mig mer än tolf legioner Änglar?
Or do you think that I couldn’t ask 'Avi ·my Father·, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Huru blefve då Skriften fullkomnad, att så ske skall?
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”
55 I samma stundene sade Jesus till skaran: Lika som till en röfvare ären I utgångne, med svärd och stafrar, till att taga fatt på mig; hvar dag hafver jag sutit när eder i templet, lärandes, och I hafven icke gripit mig.
In that hour Yeshua [Salvation] said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with machairon ·machetes, small sword knives· and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
56 Men detta är allt skedt, på det Propheternas skrifter skulle fullkomnas. Då öfvergåfvo alle Lärjungarna honom, och flydde.
But all this has happened, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him, and fled.
57 Men de, som hade gripit Jesum, ledde honom till den öfversta Presten Caiphas, der de Skriftlärde och de äldste församlade voro.
Those who had taken Yeshua [Salvation] led him away to Caiaphas [Rock that hollows itself out] the high priest, where the Torah-Teachers and the elders were gathered together.
58 Men Petrus följde honom långt efter, intill den öfversta Prestens palats; och gick in, och satte sig när tjenarena, på det han skulle se ändan.
But Peter [Rock] followed him from a distance, to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.
59 Men de öfverste Presterne, och de äldste, och hela Rådet, sökte falskt vittnesbörd emot Jesum, att de måtte dräpa honom; och funno intet.
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Yeshua [Salvation], that they might put him to death;
60 Och ändock mång falsk vittne kommo fram, funno de likväl intet. På det sista kommo tu falsk vittne;
and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward,
61 Och sade: Denne hafver sagt: Jag kan bryta ned Guds tempel, och bygga det upp i tre dagar.
and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
62 Och den öfverste Presten stod upp, och sade till honom: Svarar du intet till det som desse vittna emot dig?
The high priest stood up, and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”
63 Men Jesus tigde. Och den öfverste Presten svarade, och sade till honom: Jag besvär dig vid lefvandes Gud, att du säger oss, om du äst Christus, Guds Son.
But Yeshua [Salvation] held his peace. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the Elohim Chayim [Living God], that you tell us whether you are the Messiah [Anointed one], the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·.”
64 Sade Jesus till honom: Du sade det. Dock säger jag eder: Härefter skolen I få se menniskones Son sitta på kraftenes högra hand, och komma i himmelens sky.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
65 Då ref den öfverste Presten sin kläder sönder, och sade: Han hafver förhädat Gud; hvad görs oss nu mer vittne behof? Si, nu hörden I hans hädelse.
Then the high priest tore his, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66 Hvad synes eder? Då svarade de, och sade: Han är saker till döden.
What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”
67 Då spottade de i hans ansigte, och slogo honom med näfvarna; somlige kindpustade honom;
Then they spit in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,
68 Och sade: Spå oss, Christe, hvilken är den som dig slog.
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah [Anointed one]! Who hit you?”
69 Men Petrus satt utanföre i palatset; och der kom till honom en tjensteqvinna, och sade: Du vast ock med Jesu af Galileen.
Now Peter [Rock] was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Yeshua [Salvation], the Galilean!”
70 Men han nekade för allom, och sade: Jag vet icke hvad du säger.
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
71 Och när han gick ut genom dörrena, såg honom en annor ( tjensteqvinna ), och sade till dem som der voro: Denne var ock med Jesu Nazareno.
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him, and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Yeshua [Salvation] of Nazareth [Branch, Separated one].”
72 Åter nekade han, och svor: Jag känner icke mannen.
Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”
73 Och litet efter stego de fram, som der stodo, och sade till Petrum: Visserliga äst du ock en af dem; ty ditt tungomål röjer dig.
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter [Rock], “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
74 Då begynte han förbanna sig, och svärja, att han kände icke mannen. Och straxt gol hanen.
Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
75 Då kom Petrus ihåg Jesu ord, som han hade sagt honom: Förr än hanen gal, skall du neka mig tre resor; och gick ut, och gret bitterliga.
Peter [Rock] remembered the word which Yeshua [Salvation] had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” He went out and wept bitterly.
