Markus 8
1 Uti de dagar, då folket var ganska mycket, och hade intet det de äta kunde, kallade Jesus till sig sina Lärjungar, och sade till dem:
At that time the crowd being very numerous, and having no food, he called his disciple, and said to them,
2 Jag varkunnar mig öfver folket; ty de hafva nu i tre dagar töfvat när mig, och hafva intet äta;
I have compassion on the multitude; for they attend me now three days, and have nothing to eat;
3 Och om jag låter dem fastande gå hem, gifvas de upp i vägen; ty somlige utaf dem voro komne långväga.
and if I send them home fasting, their strength will fail by the way; for some of them have come from afar.
4 Och hans Lärjungar svarade honom: Hvar tager man bröd här i öknene, der man dem med mätta kan?
His disciples answered, Whence can we supply these people with bread here in the desert?
5 Då sporde han dem: Huru mång bröd hafven I? Svarade de: Sju.
He asked them, How many loaves have you? They said, Seven.
6 Och han böd folket sätta sig ned på jordena; och han tog de sju bröd, tackade, bröt, och gaf sina Lärjungar; att de skulle lägga dem fram; och de lade fram för folket.
Then commanding the multitude to place themselves upon the ground, he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks, broke them, and gave them to his disciples, that they might distribute them to the people, and they distributed them.
7 Hade de ock några små fiskar; och då han välsignat hade, bad han ock lägga dem fram.
They had also a few small fishes, which, after blessing, he likewise ordered to be presented.
8 Så åto de, och vordo mätte; och de togo upp sju korgar med aflefvor, som öfver voro.
So they eat, and were satisfied; and the fragments which remained, were carried off in seven hand-baskets.
9 Och de der ätit hade, voro vid fyratusend; och så lät han fara dem.
Now they who had eat were about four thousand.
10 Och straxt steg han till skepps med sina Lärjungar, och kom intill de landsändar Dalmanutha.
Having dismissed them, he immediately embarked with his disciples, and went into the territory of Dalmanutha.
11 Och de Phariseer gingo ut, och begynte disputera med honom, frestande honom, och begärande af honom tecken af himmelen.
Thence some Pharisees came, who began to argue with him; and in order to prove him, demanded of him a sign in the sky.
12 Då suckade han i sinom Anda, och sade: Hvi söker detta slägtet tecken? Sannerliga säger jag eder: Desso slägte skall intet tecken gifvas.
Jesus answered with a deep groan, Wherefore does this generation require a sign? Indeed, I say to you, that no sign shall be given to this generation.
13 Så gaf han dem öfver; och gick åter i skeppet, och for utöfver.
After that, leaving them, he re-embarked and returned.
14 Och de hade förgätit taga bröd, så att de hade icke mer än ett bröd med sig i skeppet.
Now the disciples had forgot to bring bread, having only one loaf with them in the bark.
15 Då böd han dem, sägandes: Ser till, vakter eder för de Phariseers surdeg, och för Herodis surdeg.
Then Jesus gave them this caution: Attend; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 Och de tänkte hit och dit, sägande emellan sig: Det äret, vi hafve intet bröd.
They reflecting upon it, said among themselves, It is because we have no bread.
17 Då Jesus det förnam, sade han till dem: Hvad bekymren I eder, att I hafven icke bröd? Kunnen I ännu intet akta, eller förstå? Hafven I ännu edor hjerta förblindadt?
Jesus remarking it, said to them, Why do you make this reflection, hat you have no bread? Are you yet so thoughtless, so inattentive?
18 Hafvandes ögon, och sen intet? och hafvandes öron, och hören intet?
Is your understanding still blinded? Have you no us of your eyes, or of your ears? or do you not remember
19 Och minnens I icke, då jag bröt fem bröd ibland femtusend, huru många korgar upptogen I fulla med aflefvor? Sade de: Tolf.
when I distributed the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you carry off? They answered, Twelve.
20 Och då jag bröt sju bröd ibland fyratusend, huru många korgar upptogen I utaf de aflefvor? De sade: Sju.
And when the seven among four thousand, how many hand-baskets full of the fragments did you carry off? They said, Seven.
21 Och han sade till dem: Hvi förstån I då intet?
How then is it, proceeded he, that you do not apprehend me?
22 Och han kom till Bethsaida; och de hade fram för honom en blindan, och bådo honom, att han ville taga på honom.
When Jesus came to Bethsaida, they brought to him a blind man, whom they entreated him to touch.
23 Och så tog han den blinda vid handena, och ledde honom utu byn; och spottade i hans ögon, och lade händer på honom, och frågade honom, om han något såg.
He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village. Then having put spittle on his eyes, and laid his hands upon him, he asked him whether he saw.
24 Då såg han upp, och sade: Jag ser folket gå, lika som det vore trä.
Having looked up, he said, I see men, as trees walking.
25 Sedan lade han åter händerna på hans ögon, och gjorde det så att han fick synen igen; och vardt så botad, att han sedan såg klarliga alla.
And Jesus laid his hands upon the man's eyes, and made him look again. And he was so perfectly cured, as to see every object clearly.
26 Och han lät gå honom hem, och sade: Gack intet in i byn, och säg icke heller det någrom derinne.
And Jesus sent him home, saying, Neither go into the village, nor tell anything to any of the villagers.
27 Och Jesus gick ut, och hans Lärjungar, till de byar vid Cesarea, som kallas Philippi; och i vägen frågade han sina Lärjungar, sägandes till dem: Hvem säger folket mig vara?
Jesus went thence with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and by the way asked them, saying, Who do men say that I am?
28 De svarade: Johannes Döparen; och somlige Elias; och somlige en af Propheterna.
They answered, John the Immerser; but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets.
29 Då sade han till dem: Hvem sägen I mig vara? Svarade Petrus, och sade till honom: Du äst Christus.
He said to them, But who do you say that I am? Peter answering, said to him, You are the Messiah.
30 Då hotade han dem, att de skulle ingom säga om honom;
Then he charged them to tell no person this concerning him.
31 Och begynte till att undervisa dem, att menniskones Son skulle mycket lida, och förkastas af de äldsta, och af de öfversta Presterna, och af de Skriftlärda, och dödas; och efter tre dagar uppstå igen.
And he began to inform them, that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and that in three days he must rise again.
32 Och talade han det talet uppenbart. Då tog Petrus honom till sig, och begynte näpsa honom.
This he spoke so plainly, that Peter, taking him aside, reproved him.
33 Då vände han sig om, och såg på sina Lärjungar, och näpste Petrum, sägandes: Gack bort ifrå mig, du Satan; ty du besinnar icke det Gudi tillhörer, utan det menniskor tillhörer.
But he turning, and looking on his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get you hence, adversary, for you do not relish the things of God, but the things of men.
34 Och kallade han till sig folket, med sina Lärjungar, och sade till dem: Den mig vill följa, han försake sig sjelf, och tage sitt kors uppå sig, och följe mig.
Then having called both to the people, and to his disciples, he said, Is any willing to come under my guidance? Let him renounce himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 Ty den, som vill behålla sitt lif, han skall mista det; och den som mister sitt lif, för mina och Evangelii skull, han skall det behålla.
For whosoever would save his life, shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life, for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it.
36 Ty hvad hjelper det menniskone, om hon kunde vinna hela verldena, och toge skada till sin själ?
What would it profit a man, if he should gain the whole world, with the forfeit of his life?
37 Eller hvad kan en menniska gifva, der hon sin själ med lösa må?
or what will a man not give in ransom for his life?
38 Men den som blyges vid mig och min ord, uti detta horiska och syndiga slägtet, vid honom skall ock menniskones Son blygas, när han kommer i sins Faders härlighet, med de helga Änglar.
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him likewise the Son of man will be ashamed, when he shall come in the glory of his Father, accompanied by the holy angels.
