Josua 7
1 Men Israels barn förtogo sig på det som tillspillogifvet var; ty Achan, Charmi son, Sabdi sons, Serahs sons, af Juda slägte, tog något af det som tillspillogifvet var; då förgrymmade sig Herrans vrede öfver Israels barn.
Forsothe the sones of Israel braken `the comaundement, and mystoken of the halewid thing; for Achar, the son of Charmy, sone of Zabdi, sone of Zare, of the lynage of Juda, toke sum thing of the halewid thing; and the Lord was wrooth ayens the sones of Israel.
2 Och Josua utsände af Jericho några män in mot Aj, som ligger vid BethAven österut ifrå BethEl, och sade till dem: Går upp, och bespejer landet. Och då de hade uppgångit, och bespejat Aj,
And whanne Josue sente men fro Jerico ayens Hai, which is bisidis Bethauen, at the eest coost of the citee Bethel, he seide to hem, Stie ye, and aspie ye the lond. Whiche filliden `the comaundementis, and aspieden Hay;
3 Kommo de igen till Josua, och sade till honom: Låt icke allt folket draga ditupp; utan vid tu eller tre tusend män, att de draga ditupp, och slå Aj, att icke allt folket gör sig der mödo om; förty de äro få.
and thei turneden ayen, and seiden to hym, `Not al the puple stie, but twey ether thre thousynde of men go, and do awei the citee; whi schal al the puple be trauelid in veyn ayens feweste enemyes?
4 Så drogo ditupp af folkena vid tretusend män, och de flydde för de män af Aj.
Therfor thre thousynde of fiyteris stieden, whiche turneden the backis anoon,
5 Och de af Aj slogo af dem vid sex och tretio män, och jagade dem allt ifrå porten intill Sebarim, och slogo dem den vägen nederåt. Då vardt folkens hjerta förtvifladt, och vardt såsom vatten.
and weren smytun of the men of Hay; and sixe and thretti men of hem `felden doun; and aduersaries pursueden hem fro the yate til to Saberym; and thei felden doun fleynge bi lowe places. And the herte of the puple dredde, and was maad vnstidefast at the licnesse of watir.
6 Och Josua ref sina kläder sönder, och föll uppå sitt ansigte till jordena för Herrans ark, allt intill aftonen, samt med de äldsta af Israel, och de strödde stoft på sin hufvud.
Sotheli Josue torente hise clothis, and felde lowe to the erthe bifor the arke of the Lord, `til to euentid, as wel he, as alle the elde men of Israel; and thei castiden powdir on her heedis.
7 Och Josua sade: Ack! Herre, Herre, hvi hafver du fört detta folket öfver Jordan, att du skulle gifva oss uti de Amoreers händer, till att förgöra oss? Ack! det vi dock hade blifvit på hinsidon Jordan, såsom vi begynt hade.
And Josue seide, Alas! alas! Lord God, what woldist thou lede this puple ouer the flood Jordan, that thou schuldist bitake vs in the hond of Ammorrey, and schulde leese vs? Y wolde, that as we bygunnen, we hadden dwellid biyondis Jordan.
8 Ack! min Herre, hvad skall jag säga, medan Israel vänder ryggen till sina fiendar?
My Lord God, what schal Y seie, seynge Israel turnynge the backis to hise enemyes?
9 När de Cananeer och alle landsens inbyggare det höra, så varda de oss omkringhvärfvande, och utrota vårt namn af jordene; hvad vill du då göra dino stora Namne?
Cananeys, and alle dwelleris of the lond schulen here, and thei schulen be gaderid togidere, and schulen cumpas vs, and schulen do awei oure name fro erthe; and what schalt thou do to thi grete name?
10 Då sade Herren till Josua: Statt upp, hvi ligger du så på ditt ansigte?
And the Lord seide to Josue, Rise thou; whi liggist thou low in the erthe?
11 Israel hafver syndat, och de hafva gångit öfver mitt förbund, som jag dem budit hafver; och hafva tagit af det som tillspillogifvet var, och stulit, och ljugit, och lagt ibland sin tyg.
Israel synnede, and brak my couenaunt; and thei token of the halewid thing, and thei han stole, and lieden, and hidden among her vessels.
12 Israels barn kunna icke blifva ståndande för sina fiendar; utan måste vända ryggen till sina fiendar; förty de äro tillspillo vordne. Jag skall icke vara mera med eder, om I icke låten komma den spillning ifrån eder.
And Israel may not stonde bifore hise enemyes, and Israel schal fle hem, for it is defoulid with cursyng; Y schal no more be with you, til ye al to breke hym which is gilti of this trespas.
13 Statt upp, och helga folket, och säg: Helger eder till morgons; ty så säger Herren Israels Gud: En spillning är ibland dig, Israel; derföre kan du icke blifva ståndandes för dina fiendar, tilldess I låten den spillningen komma ifrån eder.
Rise thou, halewe the puple, and seie thou to hem, Be ye halewid ayens to morewe; for the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, A! Israel! cursyng is in the myddis of thee; thou schalt not mowe stonde bifor thin enemyes, til he that is defoulyd bi this trespas, be doon awei fro thee.
14 Och I skolen bittida gå fram, den ena slägten efter den andra; och på hvilken slägten Herren drabbar, der skall gå fram den ena ätten efter den andra; och på hvilken ätten Herren drabbar, der skall gå fram det ena huset efter det andra; och på hvilket hus Herren drabbar, der skall gå fram den ene husbonden efter den andra.
And ye schulen come eerli, alle men bi youre lynagis; and whateuer lynage the lot schal fynde, it schal come bi hise meynees; and the meynee schal come bi housis, and the hous schal come bi men.
15 Och hvilken som befunnen varder med någon spillgifven ting, honom skall man uppbränna i eld, med allt det han hafver; derföre, att han hafver gångit emot Herrans förbund, och bedrifvit en galenskap i Israel.
And whoeuer schal be takun with this trespas, he schal be brent bi fier with al his catel, for he brak the couenaunt of the Lord, and dide vnleueful thing in Israel.
16 Så stod Josua bittida upp om morgonen, och hade fram Israel, den ena slägten efter den andra; och det drabbade inpå Juda slägte.
Therfor Josue roos eerly, and settide in ordre Israel, bi hise lynagis; and the lynage of Juda was foundun;
17 Och då han hade Juda slägte fram, drabbade det inpå de Serahiters ätt; och då han hade de Serahiters ätt fram, den ena husbonden efter den andra, drabbade det på Sabdi.
and whanne that lynage was brouyt forth bi hise meynees, the meyne of Zare was foundun. And Josue brouyte forth it bi men, ethir housis, and foond Zabdi;
18 Och då han hade hans hus fram, den ena husbonden efter den andra, drabbade det på Achan, Charmi son, Sabdi sons, Serahs sons, utaf Juda slägte.
whos hows he departide in to alle men bi hemsilf; and he foond Achar, the sone of Charmy, sone of Zabdi, sone of Zare, of the lynage of Juda.
19 Och Josua sade till Achan: Min son, gif Herranom Israels Gudi ärona, och gif honom prisen; och säg mig hvad du gjort hafver, och ljug intet för mig.
And he seide to Achar, My sone, yyue thou glorie to the Lord God of Israel, and knowleche thou, and schew to me what thou hast do; hide thou not.
20 Då svarade Achan Josua, och sade: Sannerliga, jag hafver syndat emot Herran Israels Gud; så och så hafver jag gjort:
And Achar answeryde to Josue, and seide to hym, Verily, Y synnede bifor the Lord God of Israel, and Y dide `so and so;
21 Jag såg ibland rofvet en kostelig Babylonisk mantel, och tuhundrade siklar silfver, och en gyldene tungo, femtio siklar värd till vigt; der fick jag lust till, och tog det; och si, det är nedergrafvet i jordene i mitt tjäll, och silfret derunder.
for among the spuylis Y siy a reed mentil ful good, and two hundrid siclis of siluer, and a goldun reule of fifti siclis; and Y coueytide, and took awei, and hidde in the erthe, ayens the myddis of my tabernacle; and Y hilide the siluer with erthe doluun.
22 Då sände Josua dit båd; de lupo till tjället, och si, der var det nedergrafvet i hans tjäll, och silfret derunder.
Therfor Josue sente mynystris, whyche runnen to his tabernacle, and foundun alle thingis hid in the same place, and the siluer togidere; and thei token awei fro the tente,
23 Och de togo det utu tjället, och båro till Josua, och till all Israels barn, och kastade det der ned för Herran.
and brouyten `tho thingis to Josue, and to alle the sones of Israel; and thei castiden forth bifor the Lord.
24 Då tog Josua och hela Israel med honom Achan, Serahs son, med silfret, mantelen och gyldene tungone, hans söner och döttrar, hans oxar och åsnar, och får, hans tjäll, och allt det han hade; och förde ut i Achors dal.
Therfor Josue took Achar, the sone of Zare, and the siluer, and the mentil, and the goldun reule, and hise sones, and douytris, oxun, assis, and scheep, and the tabernacle `it silf, and al the purtenaunce of household, and al Israel with Josue; and thei ledden hem to the valei of Achar;
25 Och Josua sade: Efter du hafver plågat oss, så plåge dig Herren på denna dag! Och hela Israel stenade dem, och brände dem upp i eld.
where Josue seide, For thou disturblidist vs, the Lord schal disturble thee in this dai. And al Israel stonyde hym; and alle thingis that weren hise, weren wastid bi fier.
26 Och då de hade stenat dem, gjorde de ena stora stenrösjo öfver dem, hvilken ännu varar allt intill denna dag. Så vände då Herren sig ifrå sine vredes grymhet; deraf heter det rummet Achors dal intill denna dag.
And thei gaderiden on hym a greet heep of stoonys, whiche dwellen til in to present day. And the strong veniaunce of the Lord was turned awei fro hem; and the name of that place was clepid the valey of Achar `til to day.
