Josua 3
1 Och Josua stod bittida upp, och de drogo ut ifrå Sittim, och kommo till Jordan, han och all Israels barn, och blefvo der öfver nattena, förra än de drogo utöfver.
And he rose early Joshua in the morning and they set out from Shittim and they came to the Jordan he and all [the] people Israel and they stayed there before they passed over.
2 Efter tre dagar gingo befallningsmännerna genom lägret;
And it was from [the] end of three days and they passed the officers in [the] midst of the camp.
3 Och bödo folkena, och sade: När I sen Herrans edars Guds förbunds ark, och Presterna Leviterna bära honom, så drager ut ifrån edor rum, och följer honom efter;
And they commanded the people saying when see you [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh God your and the priests the Levites carrying it and you you will set out from place your and you will go behind it.
4 Dock så, att emellan eder och honom är rum vid tutusende alnar långt. I skolen ock icke komma hardt intill honom, på det I mågen veta, på hvilken vägen I gå skolen; förty I hafven den vägen tillförene icke gångit.
Nevertheless - a distance it will be between you (and between it *Q(k)*) about two thousand cubit[s] by measurement may not you draw near to it so that that you may know the way which you will go in it for not you have passed in the way from yesterday three days ago.
5 Och Josua sade till folket: Helger eder; ty i morgon varder Herren görandes ett underligit ting ibland eder.
And he said Joshua to the people consecrate yourselves for tomorrow he will do Yahweh in midst your wonders.
6 Och till Presterna sade han: Tager förbundsens ark, och går framför folket. Och de togo förbundsens ark, och gingo för folket.
And he said Joshua to the priests saying lift up [the] ark of the covenant and pass over before the people and they lifted up [the] ark of the covenant and they went before the people.
7 Och Herren sade till Josua: I dag skall jag begynna göra dig stor för hela Israel, att de skola veta att, såsom jag hafver varit med Mose, så är jag ock med dig.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua the day this I will begin to make great you in [the] eyes of all Israel that they will know! that just as I was with Moses I will be with you.
8 Och du bjud Presterna, som förbundsens ark bära, och säg: Som I kommen först i vattnet af Jordan, så står stilla.
And you you will command the priests [the] bearers of [the] ark of the covenant saying when come you to [the] edge of [the] waters of the Jordan in the Jordan you will stand still.
9 Och Josua sade till Israels barn: Går fram, och hörer Herrans edars Guds ord;
And he said Joshua to [the] people of Israel draw near hither and hear [the] words of Yahweh God your.
10 Och sade: Deruppå skolen I märka, att en lefvandes Gud är ibland eder, och han för eder utdrifva skall de Cananeer, Hetheer, Heveer, Phereseer, Girgaseer, Amoreer och Jebuseer.
And he said Joshua by this you will know! that God living [is] in midst your and certainly he will dispossess from before you the Canaanite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Girgashite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Jebusite[s].
11 Si, hans förbunds ark, som en Herre är öfver alla verldena, skall gå för eder in uti Jordanen.
Here! [the] ark of the covenant [the] lord of all the earth [is] about to pass on before you in the Jordan.
12 Så tager nu tolf män utaf Israels slägter, utaf hvart slägte en.
And therefore take for yourselves two [plus] ten man from [the] tribes of Israel a man one a man one to the tribe.
13 När då Presternas fotbjelle, som bära Herrans ark, den en Herre är öfver alla verldena, komma in uti Jordans vatten, så skall vattnet, som ofvanefter flyter, i Jordan afskilja sig, så att det skall stå i enom hop.
And it will be when rest [the] soles of [the] feet of the priests [the] bearers of [the] ark of Yahweh [the] lord of all the earth in [the] waters of the Jordan [the] waters of the Jordan they will be cut off! the waters that are coming down from to above so they may stand a heap one.
14 Då nu folket drog ut af sin tjäll, att de skulle gå utöfver Jordan, och Presterna båro förbundsens ark fram för folket;
And it was when set out the people from tents their to pass over the Jordan and the priests [the] bearers of the ark the covenant before the people.
15 Och kommo intill Jordanen, och deras fötter först trädde i vattnet, och Jordan var full till alla sina brädder af allahanda andenes vatten;
And just as came [the] bearers of the ark to the Jordan and [the] feet of the priests [the] bearers of the ark they were dipped in [the] edge of the waters and the Jordan it is full over all banks its all [the] days of harvest.
16 Då stod det vattnet, som ofvanefter flöt, upprest i en hop, ganska långt ifrå dens stadsens folk, som ligger utmed Zarthan; men det vattnet, som nederlopp åt hafvet, som är salthafvet, det förminskades, och förlopp. Så gick då folket deröfver inåt Jericho.
And they stood the waters which came down from to above they rose a heap one far away very (from Adam *Q(K)*) the city which [is] from [the] side of Zarethan and which went down to [the] sea of the Arabah [the] Sea of Salt they were complete they were cut off and the people they passed over before Jericho.
17 Och Presterna, som båro Herrans förbunds ark, stodo stilla, torre midt i Jordan, och hela Israel gick torr igenom, tilldess allt folket kom öfver Jordan.
And they stood the priests [the] bearers of the ark [the] covenant of Yahweh on the dry ground in [the] middle of the Jordan firmly and all Israel [were] passing over on the dry ground until that they had finished all the nation to pass over the Jordan.
