Josua 21

1 Då trädde de öfverste fäder ibland Leviterna fram för Presten Eleazar, och för Josua, Nuns son, och för de öfversta fäder ibland Israels barnas slägte;

Then came the principall fathers of the Leuites vnto Eleazar the Priest, and vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and vnto the chiefe fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel,

2 Och talade med dem i Silo i Canaans land, och sade: Herren hafver budit genom Mose, att man skulle gifva oss städer till att bo uti, och deras förstäder till vår boskap.

And spake vnto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The Lord commanded by the hande of Moses, to giue vs cities to dwell in, with the suburbes thereof for our cattell.

3 Så gåfvo då Israels barn Leviterna utaf deras arfvedelar, efter Herrans befallning, dessa städer och deras förstäder.

So the children of Israel gaue vnto the Leuites, out of their inheritance at the commandement of the Lord these cities with their suburbes.

4 Och lotten föll uppå de Kehathiters ätt; och kommo Aarons barnom Prestens af Leviterna tretton städer till, igenom lotten; af Juda slägte, af Simeons slägte, och af BenJamins slägte.

And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron ye Priest, which were of the Leuites, had by lot, out of the tribe of Iudah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Beniamin thirteene cities.

5 Men de andra Kehats barnom af samma ätt kommo tio städer till, igenom lotten; af Ephraims slägte, af Dans slägte, och af den halfva slägtene Manasse.

And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, tenne cities.

6 Men Gersons barnom af samma ätt kommo tretton städer till, igenom lotten; af Isaschars slägte, af Assers slägte, och af Naphthali slägte, och af den halfva slägtene Manasse i Basan.

Also the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of ye tribe of Naphtali, and out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteene cities.

7 Merari barnom till deras ätter kommo tolf städer till; af Rubens slägte, af Gads slägte, och af Sebulons slägte.

The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelue cities.

8 Alltså gåfvo Israels barn Leviterna igenom lotten dessa städer, och deras förstäder, såsom Herren genom Mose budit hade.

So the children of Israel gaue by lot vnto the Leuites these cities with their suburbes, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.

9 Af Juda barnas slägte, och af Simeons barnas slägte, gåfvo de dessa städerna, hvilka de nämnde efter deras namn;

And they gaue out of the tribe of the children of Iudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeo, these cities which are here named.

10 Aarons barnom af de Kehathiters ätt, af Levi barnom; ty förste lotten var deras;

And they were the childrens of Aaron being of the families of the Kohathites, and of the sonnes of Leui, (for theirs was the first lot)

11 Så gåfvo de dem nu KiriathArba, den Enaks fader var, det är Hebron, på Juda berg, och dess förstäder allt omkring.

So they gaue them Kiriath-arba of the father of Anok (which is Hebron) in the mountaine of Iudah, with the suburbes of the same round about it.

12 Men stadsens åker, och hans byar, gåfvo de Caleb, Jephunne son, till hans arf.

(But the lande of the citie, and the villages thereof, gaue they to Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh to be his possession)

13 Så gåfvo de Prestens Aarons barnom den mandråpares fristad Hebron, och hans förstäder; Libna, och dess förstäder;

Thus they gaue to the children of Aaron the Priest, a citie of refuge for the slaier, euen Hebron with her suburbes, and Libnah with her suburbes,

14 Jathir, och dess förstäder; Estemoa, och dess förstäder;

And Iattir with her suburbes, and Eshtemoa, and her suburbes,

15 Holon, och dess förstäder; Debir, och dess förstäder;

And Holon with her suburbes, and Debir with her suburbes,

16 Ain, och dess förstäder; Jutta, och dess förstäder; BethSemes, och dess förstäder; nio städer af dessa två slägterna.

And Ain with her suburbes, and Iuttah with her suburbes, Beth-shemesh with her suburbes: nine cities out of those two tribes.

17 Af BenJamins slägte gåfvo de fyra städer: Gibeon, och dess förstäder; Geba och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Beniamin they gaue Gibeon with her suburbes, Geba with her suburbes,

18 Anathoth, och dess förstäder; Almon, och dess förstäder;

Anathoth with her suburbes, and Almon with her suburbes: foure cities.

19 Så att alle Aarons Prestens barnas städer voro tretton, med deras förstäder.

All the cities of the children of Aaron Priests, were thirteene cities with their suburbes.

20 Men de andra Kehats Levitens barnas ätter kommo fyra städer till, igenom deras lott, af Ephraims slägte.

But to the families of the children of Kohath of the Leuites, which were the rest of the children of Kohath (for the cities of their lot were out of the tribe of Ephraim)

21 Och de gåfvo dem den mandråpares fristaden Sechem, och hans förstäder på Ephraims berg; Geser, och dess förstäder;

They gaue them the citie of refuge for the slaier, Shechem with her suburbes in mount Ephraim, and Gezer with her suburbes,

22 Kibzaim, och dess förstäder; BethHoron, och dess förstäder.

And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbes: foure cities.

23 Af Dans slägte fyra städer: Eltheke, och dess förstäder; Gibbethon, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbes, Gibethon with her suburbes,

24 Ajalon, och dess förstäder; GathRimmon, och dess förstäder;

Aiialon with her suburbes, Gath-rimmon with her suburbes: foure cities.

25 Af den halfva slägtene Manasse två städer: Thaenach, och dess förstäder; GathRimmon, och dess förstäder;

And out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbes, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbes: two cities.

26 Så att alla de andra Kehats ätts barnas städer voro tio, med deras förstäder.

All the cities for the other families of the children of Kohath were ten with their suburbes.

27 Men Gersons barnom af de Leviters ätter vordo gifne af den halfva slägtene Manasse, två städer, den mandråpares fristaden Golan i Basan, med dess förstäder; Beestera, och dess förstäder.

Also vnto the children of Gershon of the families of the Leuites, they gaue out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, the citie of refuge for the slaier, Golan in Bashan with her suburbes, and Beeshterah with her suburbes: two cities.

28 Af Isaschars slägte fyra städer: Kision, och dess förstäder; Dabrath, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbes, Dabereh with her suburbes,

29 Jarmuth, och dess förstäder; EnGannim, och dess förstäder.

Iarmuth with her suburbes, En-gannim with her suburbes: foure cities.

30 Af Assers slägte fyra städer: Miseal, och dess förstäder; Abdon, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbes, Abdon with her suburbes,

31 Helkath, och dess förstäder; Rehob, och dess förstäder;

Helkah with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbes: foure cities.

32 Af Naphthali slägte tre städer: den mandråpares fristaden Kedes i Galilea, och dess förstäder; HamothDor, och dess förstäder; Karthan, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Naphtali, the citie of refuge for the slaier, Kedesh in Galil with her suburbes, and Hammoth-dor with her suburbes, and Kartan with her suburbes: three cities.

33 Så att alle Gersoniters ätts städer voro tretton, med deras förstäder.

Al the cities of the Gershonites according to their families, were thirteene cities with their suburbes.

34 Men Merari barnom, de andra Leviterna vardt gifvet, af den slägten Sebulon, fyra städer: Jokneam, och dess förstäder; Kartha, och dess förstäder;

Also vnto the families of the children of Merari the rest of the Leuites, they gaue out of the tribe of Zebulun, Iokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbes,

35 Dimna, och dess förstäder; Nahalal, och dess förstäder.

Dimnah with her suburbes, Nahalal, with her suburbes: foure cities.

36 Af Rubens slägte fyra städer: Bezer, och dess förstäder; Jahza, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Iahazah with her suburbs,

37 Kedemoth, och dess förstäder; Mephaath, och dess förstäder.

Kedemoth with her suburbes, and Mephaath with her suburbes: foure cities.

38 Af Gads slägte fyra städer: den mandråpares fristaden Ramoth i Gilead, och dess förstäder; Mahanaim, och dess förstäder;

And out of the tribe of Gad they gaue for a citie of refuge for the slaier, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbes, and Mahanaim with her suburbes,

39 Hesbon, och dess förstäder; Jaeser, och dess förstäder;

Heshbon with her suburbs, and Iazer with her suburbes: foure cities in all.

40 Så att alle Merari barnas, de andra Leviternas städer, ibland deras ätter, efter deras lott, voro tolf.

So all the cities of the children of Merari according to their families (which were the rest of the families of the Leuites) were by their lot, twelue cities.

41 Alle Leviternas städer, ibland Israels barnas arf, voro åtta och fyratio, med deras förstäder.

And all the cities of the Leuites within the possession of the children of Israel, were eight and fourtie with their suburbes.

42 Och hvar och en af dessa hade sin förstad om sig; den ene som den andre.

These cities lay euery one seuerallie with their suburbes round about them: so were all these cities.

43 Alltså gaf Herren Israels barnom allt landet, som han svorit hade deras fäder att gifva; och de togo det in, och bodde deruti.

So the Lord gaue vnto Israel all ye land, which hee had sworne to giue vnto their fathers: and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

44 Och Herren lät dem hafva ro för allom omkring dem, såsom han deras fäder svorit hade. Och ingen af deras fiendar stod emot dem; utan alla deras fiendar gaf Herren i deras händer.

Also the Lord gaue them rest rounde about according to all that hee had sworne vnto their fathers: and there stoode not a man of all their enemies before them: for the Lord deliuered all their enemies into their hand.

45 Och felade intet af det goda, som Herren Israels hus tillsagt hade; utan det skedde så allt.

There failed nothing of all the good things, which the Lord hath sayde vnto the house of Israel, but all came to passe.
