Josua 16

1 Och Josephs barnom föll lotten till ifrå Jordan, in mot Jericho, allt intill vattnet vid Jericho ifrån östan, och öknen, som går uppifrå Jericho genom det berget BethEl;

And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,

2 Och går ut ifrå BethEl till Lus, och går igenom den gränson ArchiAtaroth;

And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,

3 Och drager sig nederåt vesterut, till den gränson Japhleti, allt intill den nedra BethHorons gränso, och allt intill Gaser; och dess ände är vid hafvet.

And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.

4 Detta fingo nu Josephs barn till arfvedel, Manasse och Ephraim.

This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.

5 Ephraims barnas gränsa i deras ätter till deras arfvedel ifrån östan var AtarothAddar, allt intill det öfra BethHoron;

And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;

6 Och går ut vesteråt vid Michmethath, som norrut ligger, der böjer det sig omkring öster om den staden ThaanathSilo; och går ifrån östan inåt Janoha;

And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;

7 Och kommer neder ifrå Janoha till Ataroth, och Naaratha, och stöter inpå Jericho, och går ut vid Jordan.

And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

8 Ifrå Tappuah går hon vesterut till NahalKana, och hennes utgång är i hafvet. Detta är nu Ephraims barnas slägtes arfvedel, till deras ätter.

From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;

9 Och alle Ephraims barnas gränsostäder med deras byar, lågo förströdde ibland Manasse barnas arfvedel.

And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.

10 Och de fördrefvo icke de Cananeer, som bodde i Gaser; så blefvo då de Cananeer ibland Ephraim allt intill denna dag, och vordo skattskyldige.

And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.
