Job 24
1 Hvi skulle tiderna dem Allsmägtiga icke fördolda vara? Och de honom känna, se intet hans dagar?
Why are times for judging wicked people not set by the Almighty? Why do not those who are faithful to God see his days of judgment come?
2 De flytta råmärken, de röfva bort hjorden, och föda honom.
There are wicked people who remove boundary markers; there are wicked people who take away flocks by force and put them in their own pastures.
3 De drifva bort de faderlösas åsna, och taga enkones oxa till pant.
They drive away the donkey of those without fathers; they take the widow's ox as security.
4 De fattige måste vika för dem, och de torftige i landena måste förgömma sig.
They force needy people out of their path; poor people of the earth all hide themselves from them.
5 Si, vilddjuren i öknene gå ut, såsom de pläga, bittida till rofs, att de skola bereda mat för ungarna.
See, these poor people go out to their work like wild donkeys in the wilderness, looking carefully for food; perhaps the Arabah will provide them food for their children.
6 De uppskära af den åker, som dem intet tillhörer; och berga den vingård, som de med orätt hafva.
Poor people reap in the night in other people's fields; they glean grapes from the harvest of those wicked people.
7 De nakna låta de ligga, och låta dem intet öfvertäckelse i frostena, hvilkom de deras kläder borttagit hafva;
They lie naked all night without clothing; they have no covering in the cold.
8 Så att de måste hålla sig i bergskrefvom, när en regnskur af bergen faller neder uppå dem; efter de eljest ingen råd hafva.
They are wet with the showers of the mountains; they lie next to large rocks because they have no shelter.
9 De slita barnet ifrå bröstet, och göra det faderlöst; och göra menniskorna fattiga med pantande.
There are wicked people who pluck orphans from their mothers' breast, and wicked people who take children as security from poor people.
10 Den nakna låta de gå utan kläder, och dem hungroga borttaga de axen.
But the poor people go about naked without clothing; although they go hungry, they carry bundles of grain belonging to other people.
11 De tvinga dem till att göra oljo uppå deras qvarn, och trampa deras pressar, och låta dem likväl törsta.
The poor people make oil within the walls of those wicked men; they tread the wicked men's winepresses, but they themselves suffer thirst.
12 De göra folket i staden suckande, och dess slagnas själar ropande; och Gud straffar dem intet.
From out of the city the dying groan, and the throat of the wounded cries out for help. But God does not ascribe blame
13 Derföre äro de affallne ifrå ljusena, och känna icke dess väg, och vända icke om till dess stigar igen.
Some of these wicked people rebel against the light; they know not its ways, nor do they stay in its paths.
14 I lysningene står mördaren upp, och dräper den fattiga och torftiga; och om nattena är han som en tjuf.
Before daylight the murderer rises and he kills poor and needy people; in the night he is like a thief.
15 Horkarlens öga hafver akt på skymningena, och säger: Mig ser intet öga; och han förtäcker sitt anlete.
Also, the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight; he says, 'No eye will see me.' He disguises his face.
16 I mörkrena bryter han sig in i husen; om dagen gömma de sig med hvarannan, och vilja intet veta af ljusena.
In the darkness wicked people dig into houses; but they shut themselves up in the daytime; they do not care for the light.
17 Ty om än morgonen kommer dem, är det dem såsom ett mörker; förty han förnimmer mörkrens förskräckelse.
For all of them, thick darkness is like the morning; for they are friends with the terrors of thick darkness.
18 Han far lätteliga åstad såsom uppå ett vatten; hans håfvor varda icke stora i landena, och han brukar intet sin vingård.
Swiftly they pass away, however, like foam on the surface of the waters; their portion of the land is cursed; no one goes to work in their vineyards.
As drought and heat melt away the snow into waters, so Sheol takes away those who have sinned. (Sheol h7585)
20 De barmhertige skola förgäta honom; hans lust varder full med matk; man skall icke mer tänka uppå honom; han skall sönderbruten varda såsom ett ruttet trä.
The womb that bore him will forget him; the worm will feed sweetly on him; he will be remembered no more; in this way, wickedness will be broken like a tree.
21 Han hafver bedröfvat den ensamma, som intet föder; och enkone hafver han intet godt gjort;
The wicked one devours the barren women who have not borne children; he does no good to the widow.
22 Och hafver dragit de mägtiga under sig med sine kraft. När han står, skall han icke viss vara uppå sitt lif.
Yet God drags away the mighty people by his power; he rises up and does not strengthen them in life.
23 Han gör sig sjelf en trygghet, der han sig uppå förlåter; dock se hans ögon uppå deras handel.
God allows them to think they are secure, and they are happy about that, but his eyes are on their ways.
24 De äro en liten tid upphäfne; men de varda omintet, och undertryckte, och taga en ända såsom all ting; och såsom agnar på axen skola de afslagne varda.
These people are exalted; still, in only a little while, they will be gone; indeed, they will be brought low; they will be gathered up like all the others; they will be cut off like the tops of ears of grain.
25 Är det icke så? Nu väl, ho vill straffa mig för lögn, och göra min ord om intet?
If it is not so, who can prove me to be a liar; who can make my speech worth nothing?”
