Jeremia 49
1 Emot Ammons barn säger Herren alltså: Hafver nu Israel inga barn, eller hafver han inga arfvingar? Hvi besitter då Malcham Gads land, och hans folk bor i hans städer?
Against the children of 'Ammon, Thus hath said the Lord, Hath Israel no sons? or hath he no heir? why then doth Malcolm possess Gad, and why do his people dwell in his cities?
2 Derföre, si; den tiden kommer, säger Herren, att jag skall låta, höra ett krigsskri öfver Rabbath, Ammons barnas, att det skall öde ligga uti en hop, och dess döttrar med eld uppbrända varda; men Israel skall besitta dem, af hvilkom de hafva besuttne varit, säger Herren.
Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and its villages shall be burnt with fire: then shall Israel drive out those that drove them out, saith the Lord.
3 Jämra dig, o Hesbon, ty Aj är förstörd; roper, I Rabba döttrar, och drager säcker uppå, gråter och löper omkring på murarna; ty Malcham varder fången bortförd, samt med sina Prester och Förstar.
Wail, O Cheshbon, for 'Ai is wasted; cry aloud, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird yourselves with sackcloth; lament, and roam about among the sheepfolds; for Malcolm shall go into exile, [with] his priest and his princes together.
4 Hvad trotsar du uppå dina dalar? Dine dalar äro fördränkte, du ohörsamma dotter, som förlåter dig uppå dina rikedomar, och säger i ditt hjerta: Ho tör komma till mig?
Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys? thy valley floweth [with blood], O backsliding daughter, that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who can come unto me?
5 Si detta säger Herren Herren Zebaoth: Jag skall låta komma en fruktan öfver dig, af allom dem som kring dig bo, så att hvar och en skall på sin väg bortdrifven varda, ifrå den andra, och ingen skall vara den som de flyktiga församlar.
Behold, I will bring terror upon thee, saith the Lord the Eternal of hosts, from all those that are around thee: and ye shall be driven out every man in his own way; and none shall gather up the fugitive.
6 Men derefter skall jag omvända Ammons barnas fängelse, säger Herren.
And afterward will I bring back again the captivity of the children of 'Ammon, saith the Lord.
7 Emot Edom. Detta säger Herren Zebaoth: Är nu ingen vishet mer i Theman? Är nu intet råd mer när barnen? Är deras vishet ute?
Concerning Edom, thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Is there no more wisdom in Theman? is counsel vanished from the prudent? is their wisdom become corrupt?
8 Flyr, vänder eder om, och gömmer eder djupt neder, I borgare i Dedan; ty jag låter en ofärd komma öfver Esau, hans hemsöknings tid.
They flee, turn round, seek their abode in deep places, — the inhabitants of Dedan; for the calamity of Esau do I bring upon him, the time when I visit him with punishment.
9 Vinhemtare skola komma öfver dig, de der intet skola lefva dig efter sig, och tjufvar om nattena skola komma öfver dig, de skola stjäla sig nog.
If grape-gatherers had come to thee, would they not have left some gleanings? if thieves by night, they would destroy only till they had satisfied themselves;
10 Ty jag hafver blottat Esau, och uppenbarat hans hemlig rum, så att han kan icke undstinga sig; hans säd, hans bröder, och hans grannar äro förstörde, att ingen af dem mer för handene är.
But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret haunts, so that he will not be able to hide himself: his seed is wasted, and his brethren, and his neighbors, and he is no more.
11 Dock hvad der qvart blifver af dina faderlösa, dem vill jag lifvet unna, och dina enkor skola hoppas uppå mig.
Leave thy fatherless children, I will have to preserve them alive: and thy widows must trust in me.
12 Ty så säger Herren: Si, de som intet förskyllt hafva att dricka kalken, de måste drickan, och du skulle ostraffad blifva? Du skall intet ostraffad blifva; utan du måste ock drickan.
For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, they whose right it was not to drink the cup have been compelled to drink it, and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink it.
13 Ty jag hafver svorit vid mig sjelf, säger Herren, att Bozra skall vara till ett vidunder, försmädelse, förödning och bannor, och alle hans städer till ett evigt öde.
For by myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a disgrace, a ruin, and a curse; and all its cities shall become perpetual ruins.
14 Jag hafver hört af Herranom, att ett bådskap är sändt till Hedningarna: Församler eder, och kommer hit emot honom, och strider.
A report have I heard from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, [saying, ] Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
15 Ty si, jag hafver förnedrat dig ibland Hedningarna, och förakteligan gjort ibland menniskorna.
For, lo, I render thee small among the nations, despised among men.
16 Din öfverdådighet och dins hjertans högmod hafver bedragit dig, efter du bor i bergklyftor, ock hafver hög berg inne; om du ditt näste så högt gjorde som en örn, så skall jag ändå likväl störta dig der neder, säger Herren.
Thy hastiness hath deceived thee, the presumption of thy heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldst make thy nest as high as the eagle, thence would I bring thee down, saith the Lord.
17 Alltså skall Edom öde varda, att allo de der framom gå, skola förundra sig, och hvissla öfver alla hans plågor;
And Edom shall become [an object of] astonishment: every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all its wounds.
18 Likasom Sodoma och Gomorra, samt med sina grannar, omstört är, säger Herren, så att ingen bor der, eller någor menniska derinne blifva kan.
Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, saith the Lord, so shall no man dwell there, nor shall a son of man sojourn therein.
19 Ty si, han kommer upp lika som ett lejon ifrå den stolta Jordan, emot de fasta hyddor; ty jag vill låta honom snarliga löpa dit; och ho vet, hvilken den ynglingen är, den jag emot dem rusta skall? Ty ho är mig lik, ho vill lära mig? Och hvilken är den herden, som mig emotstå kan?
Behold, like a lion will he come up from the overflow of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will hasten him, [and] make him suddenly prevail against her; and him who is chosen will I array against her; for who is like me? and who will challenge me to battle? and who is that shepherd that can stand before me?
20 Så hörer nu Herrans rådslag, som han öfver Edom hafver, och hans tankar, som han öfver Themans inbyggare hafver: Hvad gäller, att vallebarnen skola bortsläpa dem, och förstöra deras boning;
Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord, that he hath resolved against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath devised against the inhabitants of Theman: Surely the least of the flocks shall drag them away; surely he will devastate over them their habitation.
21 Så att jorden skall bäfva i deras fall, och deras rop skall man höra på röda hafvet.
At the noise of their fall the earth quaketh: [there is] an outcry, —at the Red Sea their voice is heard.
22 Si, han flyger upp såsom en örn, och skall uträcka sina vingar öfver Bozra; på den tiden skall de hjeltars hjerta i Edom vara lika som ene qvinnos hjerta i barnsnöd.
Behold, like the eagle shall he come up and fly along, and spread out his wings over Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom shall be on that day as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
23 Emot Damascon. Hamath och Arpad stå jämmerliga, de äro förtviflade; ty de höra ond tidende: De som vid hafvet bo äro förskräckte, så att de kunna ingen ro hafva.
Concerning Damascus. Chamath and Arpad are made ashamed; for evil tidings have they heard, they are fainthearted: on the sea there is care, it is not able to be quiet.
24 Damascus är förtviflad, och gifver flyktena; han darrar, och är i ångest och värk, likasom en qvinna i barnsnöd.
Damascus is become feeble, she turneth about to flee, and trembling hath taken hold on her: pangs and throes have seized her, as a woman in travail.
25 Huru? Är han nu icke öfvergifven, den beprisade och säkre staden?
“How is the city of praise not forsaken, the town of my joy!”
26 Derföre skola hans unge män ligga på hans gator, och alle hans krigsmän falla på den tiden, säger Herren Zebaoth.
Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall perish on that day, saith the Lord of hosts.
27 Och jag skall sticka eld på murarna i Damascon, att han Benhadads palats upptära skall.
And I will kindle a fire on the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.
28 Emot Kedar och Hazors riken, hvilka NebucadNezar, Konungen i Babel, slog. Detta säger Herren: Upp, drager upp till Kedar, och förstörer de barn österut.
Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Chazor, which Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon smote, thus hath said the Lord, Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and devastate the men of the east.
29 Man skall taga dem deras hyddor och hjordar bort, deras tjäll och all deras tyg; och cameler skola de bortföra, och man skall förskräckeliga ropa öfver dem allt omkring.
Their tents and their flocks shall they take away; their curtains, and all their vessels and their camels shall they take to themselves: and they shall call out over them, Terror is on every side.
30 Flyr, låter lida eder dädan, gömmer eder djupt neder, I inbyggare i Hazor, säger Herren; ty NebucadNezar, Konungen i Babel, hafver rådslagit om eder, och hafver något i sinnet emot eder.
Flee, fly away far off, seek your abode in deep places, O ye inhabitants of Chazor, saith the Lord; for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a device against you.
31 Nu upp, drager upp emot ett folk, som nog hafver, och bor säkert, säger Herren; de hafva hvarken portar eller bommar, och de bo allena för sig,
Arise, get you up unto the nation that is at ease, that dwelleth in security, saith the Lord, which hath neither gates nor bars, which dwelleth alone.
32 Deras cameler skola bortröfvade varda, och deras myckna boskap borttagen; och jag skall förströ dem i alla väder, de der i vråar bo; och på alla sidor skall jag låta deras olycka komma öfver dem, säger Herren.
And their camels shall become a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter unto all winds those that have the hair cut round; and from all sides will I bring their calamity, saith the Lord.
33 Och Hazor skall varda till en drakaboning, och till ett evigt öde, så att der ingen bo skall, och ingen menniska deruti vistas.
And Chazor shall become a dwelling for monsters, a desolation for ever: there shall no man dwell there, nor shall a son of man sojourn therein.
34 Detta är Herrans ord, som skedde till Jeremia Propheten, emot Elam, uti Zedekia, Juda Konungs rikes begynnelse, och sade:
The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning 'Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the king of Judah, saying,
35 Så säger Herren Zebaoth: Si, jag skall sönderbryta Elams båga, deras yppersta magt;
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will break the bow of 'Elam, the chief of their strength.
36 Och skall låta komma öfver dem de fyra väder, utaf fyra himmelens ändar, och skall förströ dem uti all de vädren, att intet folk vara skall, dit icke ju någre fördrefne af Elam komma skola.
And I will bring over 'Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the heavens, and I will scatter them toward all these winds: and there shall not be any nation whither shall not come the outcasts of 'Elam.
37 Och jag skall göra Elam förtviflad för deras fiendar, och för dem som stå efter deras lif, och låta olycko komma öfver dem med mine grymma vrede, säger Herren; och skall sända svärdet efter dem, tilldess jag gör en ända uppå dem.
For I will cause 'Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those that seek their life: and I will bring over them evil, the fierceness of my anger, saith the Lord: and I will send out after them the sword, till I have made an end of them.
38 Min stol skall jag sätta i Elam, och skall förgöra der både Konung och Förstar, säger Herren.
And I will set up my throne in 'Elam, and I will destroy thence king and princes, saith the Lord.
39 Men i tillkommande tid skall jag vända Elams fängelse om igen, säger Herren.
But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring back again the captivity of 'Elam, saith the Lord.
