Jeremia 23
1 Ve eder, herdar, I som förderfven och förskingren min fosterhjord, säger Herren.
“Woe to the shepherds who scatter and tear apart the sheep of my pasture, says the Lord.
2 Derföre säger Herren, Israels Gud, om de herdar, som mitt folk regera: I hafven förskingrat min hjord, och bortdrifvit, och icke besökt honom; si, jag skall hemsöka eder, för edart onda väsendes skull, säger Herren.
Because of this, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to the shepherds who pasture my people: You have scattered my flock, and you have driven them away, and you have not visited them. Behold, I will visit upon you because of your evil pursuits, says the Lord.
3 Och jag skall församla, det qvart är af minom hjord, utur all land, dit jag dem utdrifvit hafver, och skall hafva dem hem igen till deras hus, att de skola växa och förökas.
And I will gather together the remnant of my flock from the entire earth, from the places to which I had cast them out. And I will return them to their own fields. And they will increase and be multiplied.
4 Och jag skall sätta herdar öfver dem, som dem sköta skola, att de icke mer skola frukta sig eller förskräckas, eller hemsökte varda, säger Herren.
And I will raise up shepherds over them, and they will pasture them. They will no longer dread, and they will no longer fear. And no one among their number will be seeking more, says the Lord.
5 Si, den tiden kommer, säger Herren, att jag skall uppväcka David rättfärdighetenes frukt; och det skall vara en Konung, den väl regera skall, och skall upprätta rätt och rättfärdighet på jordene.
Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch. And a king will reign, and he will be wise. And he will exercise judgment and justice upon the earth.
6 På den tiden skall Juda hulpen varda, och Israel säker bo; och detta skall vara hans namn, det man honom kalla skall: Herren vår rättfärdighet.
In those days, Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in confidence. And this is the name that they will call him: ‘The Lord, our Just One.’
7 Derföre, si, den tid skall komma, säger Herren, då man nu intet mer skall säga: Så sant som Herren lefver, som Israels barn utur Egypti land fört hafver;
Because of this, behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who led the sons of Israel away from the land of Egypt,’
8 Utan: Så sant som Herren lefver, som Israels hus säd utförde, och hade af nordlanden, och utur all land, dit jag dem fördrifvit hafver, så att de skola nu bo i sitt land.
but instead, ‘As the Lord lives, who led away and brought back the offspring of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from the entire earth,’ from the places to which I had cast them out. And they will live in their own land.”
9 Emot Propheterna: Mitt hjerta vill mig brista i mino lifve, all min ben darra; mig är lika som enom drucknom manne, och lika som enom den af vin ragar, för Herranom, och för hans heliga ordom;
To the prophets: “My heart is crushed within me. All my bones are trembling. I have become like an inebriated man, and like a man maddened by wine, before the face of the Lord, and before the face of his holy words.
10 Att landet så fullt med horkarlar är, att landet så jämmerliga står, att det så förbannadt är, och ängarna i öknene förtorkas; och deras lefverne är ondt, och deras regemente doger intet.
For the earth is full of adulterers! And the earth has mourned before the face of evil talk. The plains of the desert have dried up, and their course has become hazardous, and their firmness has become uneven.”
11 Ty både Propheter och Prester äro skalkar; och jag finner också deras ondska i mino huse, säger Herren.
“For both the prophet and the priest have become polluted, and I have found their wickedness within my own house, says the Lord.
12 Derföre är deras väg lika som en slipper väg i mörkrena, der de uppå falla; ty Jag skall låta komma olycko öfver dem, deras hemsökningsår, säger Herren.
For this reason, their way will be like a slippery path in the dark. For they will be impelled forward, and they will fall in it. For I will bring evils over them, in the year of their visitation, says the Lord.
13 Med de Propheter i Samarien hafver jag sett galenskap, att de propheterade i Baal och förförde mitt folk Israel;
And I have seen the foolishness of the prophets of Samaria. They have prophesied in Baal, and they have deceived my people Israel.
14 Men med de Propheter i Jerusalem ser jag en styggelse; huru de bedrifva hor, och fara med lögn, och styrka de onda, på det att ju ingen skall omvända sig af sine ondsko. De äro alle för mig lika som Sodoma, och dess inbyggare lika som Gomorra.
And in the prophets of Jerusalem, I have seen the likeness of adulterers and the path of falsehood. And they have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that each one would not convert from his malice. They have all become to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants have become like Gomorrah.”
15 Derföre säger Herren Zebaoth om Propheterna alltså: Si, jag skall spisa dem med malört, och gifva dem galla dricka; ty ifrå Propheterna i Jerusalem kommer ut skrymteri öfver hela landet.
Because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts to the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them absinthe, and I will give them gall to drink. For from the prophets of Jerusalem corruption has gone forth over the entire earth.”
16 Detta säger Herren Zebaoth: Hörer intet Propheternas ord, de eder prophetera; de bedraga eder, ty de predika sins hjertas syner, och icke utaf Herrans mun.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not choose to listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you and deceive you. They speak a vision from their own heart, and not from the mouth of the Lord.
17 De säga dem som mig försmäda: Herren hafver det sagt: Eder varder väl gångandes; och allom dem som vandra efter sins hjertas tycko, säga de: Det kommer ingen olycka öfver eder.
To those who blaspheme me, they say: ‘The Lord has said: You shall have peace.’ And to everyone who walks in the depravity of his own heart, they have said: ‘No evil will overwhelm you.’”
18 Ty ho hafver varit i Herrans råd, den hans ord sett och hört hafver? Ho hafver förmärkt och hört hans ord?
For who has been present in the counsel of the Lord, and who has seen and heard his word? Who has considered his word and heard it?
19 Si, ett Herrans väder skall komma med grymhet, och ett förskräckeligit oväder falla de ogudaktiga öfver hufvudet.
Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord’s indignation will go forth, and a tempest will break out; it will overwhelm the head of the impious.
20 Och Herrans vrede skall icke upphålla, tilldess han gör och uträttar det han i sinnet hafver. Härefter skolen I väl förvarat.
The fury of the Lord will not return until it succeeds, and until it completes the plan of his heart. In the last days, you will understand this counsel.
21 Jag sände intet Propheterna, likväl lupo de; jag talade intet med dem, likväl propheterade de.
“I did not send these prophets, yet they hurry forward. I was not speaking to them, yet they were prophesying.
22 Ty om de hade blifvit vid mitt råd och hade predikat mino folke min ord, så hade de omvändt dem ifrå deras onda väsende, och ifrå deras onda lefverne.
If they had stood in my counsel, and if I had made my words known to my people, certainly I would have turned them away from their evil ways and from their most wicked plans.
23 Är jag icke en Gud, den hardt när är, säger Herren, och icke en Gud, den fjerran är?
Do you not realize that I am a God close by, says the Lord, and not a God far away?
24 Menar du, att någor kan så hemliga fördölja sig, att jag icke kan se honom? säger Herren. Är icke jag den som uppfyller himmel och jord? säger Herren.
If a man is hidden in concealed places, do I not see him, says the Lord? Do I not fill up heaven and earth, says the Lord?
25 Jag hörer väl, att Propheterna predika, och prophetera lögn i mitt Namn, och säga: Mig hafver drömt, mig hafver drömt.
I have heard what the prophets have said, prophesying falsehoods in my name, and also saying: ‘I have dreamed! I have dreamed!’
26 När vilja nu Propheterna igenvända? de der lögn prophetera, och prophetera sins hjertas bedrägeri;
How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who predict what is false, and who prophesy deceptions from their own heart?
27 Och vilja, att mitt folk skall förgäta mitt Namn, för deras drömmars skull, som den ene för den andra predikar, såsom deras fäder förgåto mitt Namn för Baals skull.
They want to cause my people to forget my name, by means of their dreams, which each of them describes to his neighbor, just as their fathers forgot my name for the sake of Baal.
28 En Prophet, som drömmar hafver, han predike drömmar; men den som mitt ord hafver, han predike mitt ord rätt. Huru när kommer agnar och hvete tillhopa? säger Herren.
The prophet who has had a dream, let him describe the dream. And he who receives my word, let him speak my word in truth. For what has the chaff to do with the wheat, says the Lord?
29 Är icke mitt ord lika som en eld, säger Herren, och såsom en hammar, den berg sönderslår?
Are not my words like a fire, says the Lord, and like a hammer crushing rock?
30 Derföre, si: Jag vill till de Propheter, säger Herren, som min ord stjäla den ene dem andra.
Therefore, behold: I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who steal my words, each one from his neighbor.
31 Si, jag vill till de Propheter, säger Herren, som sitt eget ord föra, och säga: Han hafver det sagt.
Behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who take up their tongues and say: ‘The Lord says it.’
32 Si, jag vill till de som falska drömmar prophetera, säger Herren, och predika dem, och förföra mitt folk med sine lögn och lösaktig ting; efter jag dock intet hafver sändt dem, och intet befallt dem, och de ej heller desso folkena nyttige äro, säger Herren.
Behold, I am against the prophets, who dream what is false, says the Lord; who explain and so seduce my people with their falsehoods and with their miracles, though I did not send them, nor did I command them. They have offered nothing beneficial to this people, says the Lord.
33 Om detta folk, eller en Prophet, eller en Prest varder dig frågandes, och säger: Hvilket är Herrans tunge? så skall du säga till dem, hvad den tungen är: Jag skall bortkasta eder, säger Herren.
Therefore, if this people, or a prophet, or a priest questions you, saying, ‘What is the burden of the Lord?’ you shall say to them, ‘You are the burden. And certainly I will cast you away, says the Lord.’
34 Och om en Prophet, eller Prest, eller folk varder sägandes: Det är Herrans tunge; densamma skall jag hemsöka, och hans hus dertill.
And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people who say, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ I will visit upon that man and upon his house.
35 Men så skall den ene tala med dem andra, och säga sig emellan: Hvad svarar Herren? Och hvad säger Herren?
And then you will speak in this way, each one to his neighbor and to his brother: ‘What has the Lord answered? And what has the Lord said?’
36 Och kaller det icke mer Herrans tunga; ty hvarjom och enom skall hans egen ord vara till en tunga, efter I alltså lefvandes Guds, Herrans Zebaoths, vårs Guds ord förvänden.
And the burden of the Lord will no longer be called to mind. For each one’s own word will be a burden. For you have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts, our God.
37 Derföre skolen I säga till Propheten alltså: Hvad svarar Herren dig? Och hvad säger Herren?
And then you will speak in this way to the prophet: ‘What has the Lord answered you? And what has the Lord spoken?’
38 Nu medan I sägen Herrans tunge, derföre säger Herren alltså: Efter I kallen ordet Herrans tunga, och jag till eder sändt hafver, och hafver säga låtit, att I icke skullen kallat Herrans tunga;
But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ then because of this, thus says the Lord: Since you have spoken this word, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ though I sent to you telling you not to say: ‘The burden of the Lord,’
39 Si, så skall jag taga eder bort, och bortkasta eder samt med stadenom, som jag eder och edra fäder gifvit hafver, ifrå mitt ansigte;
because of this, behold, I will take you away, like a burden, and I will forsake you, as well as the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, before my face.
40 Och skall foga eder en evig skam till, och en evig försmädelse, den aldrig förgäten skall varda.
And I will give you over to an everlasting reproach and an eternal disgrace, which shall never be wiped away into oblivion.”
