Jesaja 9
1 Ty det varder väl ett annat mörker, det dem bekymrar, än i förtiden var, då det lätteliga tillgick i Sebulons land, och i Naphthalims land, och derefter svårare vardt vid hafsvägen, på denna sidone Jordanen, vid Hedningarnas Galilea.
Yet the darkenesse shall not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.
2 Det folket, som i mörkret vandrar, ser ett stort ljus; och öfver dem, som bo i mörko lande, skin det klarliga.
The people that walked in darkenes haue seene a great light: they that dwelled in the land of the shadowe of death, vpon them hath the light shined.
3 Du gör folket mycket, dermed gör du icke glädjena, myckna; men för dig varder man sig glädjandes, såsom man glädes i skördandene, såsom man glad är, när man utskifter byte.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased their ioye: they haue reioyced before thee according to the ioye in haruest, and as men reioyce when they deuide a spoyle.
4 Ty du hafver sönderbrutit deras bördos ok, och deras skuldrors ris, och deras plågares staf, lika som i Midians tid.
For the yoke of their burthen, and the staffe of their shoulder and the rod of their oppressour hast thou broken as in the day of Midian.
5 Ty allt krig, med storm och blodig klädnad, skall uppbrännas, och af eld förtärdt varda.
Surely euery battell of the warriour is with noyse, and with tumbling of garments in blood: but this shall be with burning and deuouring of fire.
6 Ty oss är födt ett barn, en Son är oss gifven, hvilkens herradöme är uppå hans axlar; och han heter Underlig, Råd, Gud, Hjelte, Evig Fader, Fridförste;
For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace,
7 På det hans herradöme skall stort varda, och på friden ingen ände, på Davids säte och hans rike, att han det bereda, och stärka skall med dom och rättfärdighet, ifrå nu allt intill evighet; detta skall Herrans Zebaoths nitälskan göra.
The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.
8 Herren hafver sändt ett ord i Jacob, och det är fallet i Israel;
The Lord hath sent a worde into Iaakob, and it hath lighted vpon Israel.
9 Att allt Ephraims folk och Samarie inbyggare skola det få veta, hvilke i högmod och stolt sinne säga:
And all the people shall knowe, euen Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and presumption of the heart,
10 Tegelstenar äro fallne; men vi vilje bygga det upp igen med huggen sten; man hafver afhuggit mulbärsträ, så vilje vi sätta i samma staden cedreträ.
The brickes are fallen, but we will build it with hewen stones: the wilde figge trees are cut downe, but we will change them into ceders.
11 Ty Herren skall uppresa Rezins krigsfolk emot dem, och gadda deras fiendar tillhopa;
Neuerthelesse the Lord will raise vp the aduersaries of Rezin against him, and ioyne his enemies together.
12 De Syrer före, och de Philisteer efter, att de skola uppfräta Israel med fullom mun. Uti allt detta stillas icke ännu hans vrede; hans hand är ännu uträckt.
Aram before and the Philistims behinde, and they shall deuoure Israel with open mouth: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 Så vänder sig ej heller folket till honom, som dem slår, och fråga intet efter Herran Zebaoth.
For the people turneth not vnto him that smiteth them, neither doe they seeke the Lord of hostes.
14 Derföre skall Herren afhugga af Israel både hufvud och stjert, både qvist och stubbs, på en dag.
Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.
15 De gamle och ärlige äro hufvudet; men Propheterna, som falskt lära, äro stjerten;
The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.
16 Ty detta folks ledare äro förförare; och de som sig leda låta, äro förtappade.
For the leaders of the people cause them to erre: and they that are led by them are deuoured.
17 Derföre kan Herren intet glädja sig öfver deras unga män, eller förbarma, sig öfver deras faderlösa och enkor; ty de äro allesammans skrymtare och onde, och hvar och en mun talar galenskap. Uti allt detta stillas icke ännu hans vrede; hans hand är ännu uträckt.
Therefore shall the Lord haue no pleasure in their yong men, neither will he haue compassion of their fatherlesse and of their widowes: for euery one is an hypocrite and wicked, and euery mouth speaketh follie: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out stil.
18 Ty det ogudaktiga väsendet är upptändt såsom en eld, och förtärer törne och tistlar, och brinner såsom uti en tjock skog, och gifver högan rök.
For wickednesse burneth as a fire: it deuoureth the briers and the thornes and will kindle in the thicke places of the forest: and they shall mount vp like the lifting vp of smoke.
19 Förty uti Herrans Zebaoths vrede är landet förmörkradt, så att folket är lika, som en eldsmat; ingen skonar den andra.
By the wrath of the Lord of hostes shall the land be darkened, and the people shall be as the meate of ye fire: no man shall spare his brother.
20 Röfva de på högra sidone, så lida de hunger; äta de på venstra sidone, så varda, de icke mätte; hvar och en äter sins arms kött;
And he shall snatch at the right hand, and be hungrie: and he shall eate on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied: euery one shall eate ye flesh of his owne arme.
21 Manasse Ephraim, Ephraim Manasse, och de båda, tillsammans emot Juda. Uti allt detta stillas icke ännu hans vrede; hans hand är ännu uträckt.
Manasseh, Ephraim: and Ephraim Manasseh, and they both shall be against Iudah yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
