Hosea 1

1 Detta är Herrans ord, som skedde till Osea, Beeri son, uti Ussia, Jotham, Ahas, Jehiskia, Juda Konungars, tid; och uti Jerobeams, Joas sons, Israels Konungs, tid.

The word of the Lord that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.

2 Och då Herren först tog till att tala genom Osea, sade Herren till honom: Gack bort, och tag dig ena sköko till hustru, och skökobarn; ty landet löper ifrå Herranom i boleri.

The beginning of the Lord’s conversation with Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea: “Go, take to yourself a wife of fornications, and make for yourself sons of fornications, because, by fornicating, the land will fornicate away from the Lord.”

3 Och han gick bort, och tog Gomer, Diblaims dotter. Hon vardt hafvandes, och födde honom en son.

And he went out and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son.

4 Och Herren sade till honom: Kalla honom Jisreel; ty det är ännu om en liten tid till görandes, så vill jag hemsöka de blodskulder i Jisreel, öfver Jehu hus, och skall göra en ända med Israels rike.

And the Lord said to him: “Call his name Jezreel because, after a little while, I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and I will put the kingdom of the house of Israel to rest.

5 På den tiden skall jag sönderbryta Israels båga, uti Jisreels dal.

And in that day, I will crush the stronghold of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”

6 Och hon vardt äter hafvandes, och födde ena dotter; och han sade till honom: Kalla henne LoRyhama; ty jag vill intet mer förbarma mig öfver Israels hus; utan lag vill bortkasta dem.

And after a while, she conceived and bore a daughter. And he said to him: “Call her name, Without Mercy, for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, but I will utterly forget them.

7 Dock öfver Juda hus vill jag förbarma mig, och skall hjelpa dem genom Herran deras Gud; men jag vill icke hjelpa dem genom båga, svärd, strid, hästar eller resenärar.

Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the Lord their God. And I will not save them by bow and sword and battle and horses and horsemen.”

8 Och då hon afvant hade LoRyhama, vardt hon äter hafvandes, och födde en son.

And she weaned her, who was called Without Mercy. And she conceived and bore a son.

9 Och han sade: Kalla honom LoAmmi; ty I ären icke mitt folk, så vill jag ej heller vara edar.

And he said: “Call his name, Not My People, for you are not my people, and I will not be yours.

10 Men talet på Israels barn skall varda lika som sanden i hafvena, den man hvarken mäla eller räkna kan; och det skall ske på det rum, der man till dem sagt hafver; I ären icke mitt folk; der skall man säga till dem: O! I lefvande Guds barn.

And the number of the sons of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, which is without measure and cannot be numbered. And in the place where it will be said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ this will happen: it will be said to them, ‘You are the sons of the living God.’

11 Ty Juda barn och Israels barn skola sammankomma, och skola hålla sig alla under ett hufvud, och draga upp utu landena; ty Jisreels dag skall vara en stor lag.

And the sons of Judah, and the sons of Israel, will be gathered together. And they will place over themselves one head, and they will rise up from the earth, for great is the day of Jezreel.”
