1 Mosebok 33
1 Jacob hof upp sin ögon, och såg sin broder Esau komma med fyrahundrade män. Och skifte sin barn till Lea, och till Rachel, och till båda tjensteqvinnorna.
Forsothe Jacob reiside hise iyen, and seiy Esau comynge, and foure hundrid men with hym; and he departide the sones of Lia, and of Rachel, and of bothe seruauntessis.
2 Och skickade tjensteqvinnorna med deras barn främst; och Lea med hennes barn dernäst; och Rachel med Joseph efterst.
And he puttide euer either handmaide, and the fre children of hem, in the bigynnyng; sotheli he puttide Lia, and her sones, in the secounde place; forsothe he puttide Rachel and Joseph the laste.
3 Och han gick fram för dem, och bugade sig sju resor ned på jordena, till dess han kom fram till sin broder.
And Jacob yede bifore, and worschipide lowli to erthe seuensithis, til his brothir neiyede.
4 Men Esau lopp emot honom, och tog honom i famn, och fick honom om halsen, och kysste honom; och de greto.
And so Esau ran ayens his brothir, and collide hym, and Esau helde his necke, and kisside, and wepte.
5 Och hof upp sin ögon, och såg qvinnorna med barnen, och sade: Ho äro desse med dig? Han svarade: Det äro barnen, som Gud dinom tjenare beskärt hafver.
And whanne the iyen weren reisid, he seiy the wymmen, and the litle children of hem, and seide, What wolen these to hem silf? and wher thei pertenen to thee? Jacob answeride, Thei ben the litle children, whiche God hath youe to me, thi seruaunt.
6 Och tjensteqvinnorna gingo fram med deras barn, och bugade sig för honom.
And the handmaydis and her sones neiyeden, and weren bowid.
7 Lea gick ock fram med sin barn, och bugade sig för honom. Sedan gick Joseph och Rachel fram, och bugade sig ock för honom.
Also Lya neiyede with hir fre children; and whanne thei hadden worschipid in lijk maner, Joseph and Rachel the laste worschipeden.
8 Och han sade: Hvad vill du med allan den skaran, som jag hafver mött? Han svarade: Att jag måtte finna nåd för minom herra.
And Esau seide, What ben these cumpanyes, whiche Y mette? Jacob answerde, That Y schulde fynde grace bifore my lord.
9 Esau sade: Jag hafver nog, min broder; behåll det du hafver.
And he seide, My brother, Y haue ful many thingis, thi thingis be to thee.
10 Jacob svarade: Ack nej! hafver jag funnit nåd för dig, så tag min skänk af mine hand; förty jag såg ditt ansigte, lika som jag hade sett Guds ansigte; och tag det täckeliga af mig.
And Jacob seide, Y biseche, nyle thou so, but if Y foond grace in thin iyen, take thou a litil yifte of myn hondis; for Y seiy so thi face as I seiy the cheer of God;
11 Tag den välsignelsen, som jag hafver fört till dig; ty Gud hafver mig det beskärt, och jag hafver all ting nog. Så nödgade han honom, till dess han anammade det.
be thou merciful to me, and resseyue the blessyng which Y brouyte to thee, and which blessyng God yyuynge alle thingis yaf to me. Vnnethis, while the brothir compellide,
12 Och han sade: Låt oss fara framåt, och resa, jag vill fara med dig.
he resseyuede, and seide, Go we to gidere, and Y schal be felowe of thi weie.
13 Men han sade till honom: Min herre, du vetst att jag hafver späd barn när mig, dertill får och fä, som än äro unge; när de en dag för hastigt drifne vordo, dödde mig hela hjorden.
And Jacob seide, My lord, thou knowist that Y haue litle children tendre, and scheep, and kien with calue with me, and if Y schal make hem for to trauele more in goynge, alle the flockis schulen die in o dai;
14 Min herre fare fram före åt för sin tjenare: Jag vill sakta följa, efter som boskapen och barnen gå kunna, till dess jag kommer till min herra i Seir.
my lord go bifore his seruaunt, and Y schal sue litil and litil hise steppis, as I shal se that my litle children mown, til Y come to my lord, in to Seir.
15 Esau sade: Så vill jag dock låta blifva när dig något af folket, som med mig är. Han svarade: Hvad görs det behof? Låt mig man finna nåd för minom herra.
Esau answeride, Y preie thee, that of the puple which is with me, nameli felowis of thi weie dwelle. Jacob seide, It is no nede; Y haue nede to this o thing oneli, that Y fynde grace in thi siyt, my lord.
16 Så for Esau den dagen tillbaka sin väg åt Seir.
And so Esau turnede ayen in that dai in the weie bi which he cam, in to Seir.
17 Och Jacob for till Succoth, och byggde sig ett hus, och gjorde hyddor till sin boskap. Deraf heter det rummet Succoth.
And Jacob cam in to Sochot, where whanne he hadde bildid an hows, and hadde set tentis, he clepide the name of that place Sochot, that is, tabernaclis.
18 Derefter kom Jacob till Salem, till den staden Sichem, som ligger i Canaans lande, sedan han var kommen utaf Mesopotamien, och gjorde sitt lägre för stadenom.
And Jacob passide in to Salem, a citee of Sichimis, whiche is in the lond of Canaan, aftir that he turnede ayen fro Mesopotanye of Sirie, and he dwellide besidis the citee.
19 Och köpte ett stycke åker af Hemors Sichems faders barnom, för hundrade penningar.
And he bouyte for an hundrid lambren a part of the feeld, in which he settide tabernaclis, of the sones of Emor, fadir of Sichem.
20 Der slog han upp sin tjäll, och uppreste der ett altare, och åkallade dens starka Israels Guds namn.
And whanne he hadde reisid an auter there, he inwardly clepide on it the strongeste God of Israel.
