1 Desse äro de barn utu landen, som uppdrogo utu fängelset, hvilka NebucadNezar, Konungen i Babel, hade fört till Babel, och igenkommo till Jerusalem och Juda, hvar och en uti sin stad;
Now these are the children of the province who went up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away into exile unto Babylon, and who returned unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
2 Och kommo med Serubbabel: Jesua, Nehemia, Seraja, Reelaja, Mardechai, Bilsan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, och Baana. Detta är nu talet af männerna i Israels folk.

59 Och desse drogo också med upp af ThelMelah, ThelHarsa, Cherub, Addan och Immer; men de kunde icke utvisa sina fäders hus, eller ock sina säd, om de voro af Israel;
And these are those who went up from Thel-melach, Thelcharsha, Kerub, Addan, and Immer; but they could not tell their family division, and their descent, whether they were of Israel:
60 Delaja barn, Tobia barn, Nekoda barn, sexhundrad två och femtio.
The children of Delayah the children of Tobiyah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.
61 Och af Prestabarnen: Habaja barn, Koz barn, Barsillai barn, den en hustru tog utaf Barsillai den Gileaditens döttrar, och vardt nämnd under deras namn.
And of the children of the priests: The children of Chabayah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gil'adite, and was called after their name.
62 De samme sökte efter deras börds skrifter, och funno dem intet; derföre vordo de Presterskapet qvitte.
These sought for their family-registers, but they were not found: wherefore they were excluded, as unfit, from the priesthood.
63 Och Thirsatha sade till dem, att de icke skulle äta utaf det aldrahelgasta, tilldess en Prest uppstode med Ljus och Fullkomlighet.
And the Thirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand up a priest with the Urim and Thummim.
64 Hela menigheten, såsom en man, var tu och fyratio tusend, trehundrad och sextio;
The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and sixty.
65 Förutan deras tjenare och tjenarinnor, de voro sjutusend trehundrad sju och tretio; och hade tuhundrad sångare, och sångerskor;
Besides their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: they had also two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Sjuhundrad sex och tretio hästar, tuhundrad fem och fyratio mular;
Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
67 Fyrahundrad fem och tretio camelar, och sextusend sjuhundrad och tjugu åsnar.
Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Och somlige utaf öfversta fäderna, när de kommo till Herrans hus i Jerusalem, vordo de friviljoge till Guds hus, att man skulle det sätta uppå sitt rum;
And some of the chiefs of the divisions, when they came to the house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem, offered freewill gifts for the house of God to set it up in its place:
69 Och gåfvo, efter sina förmågo, till drätselen åt verket, ett och sextio tusend gylden, och fem tusend pund silfver, och hundrade Prestakjortlar.
After their ability they gave unto the treasure for the work sixty and one thousand drachms of gold, and five thousand manehs of sliver, and one hundred coats for the priests.
70 Alltså satte sig Presterna och Leviterna, och somlige af folket, och sångarena och dörravaktarena, och de Nethinim, uti sina städer; och hele Israel i sina städer.
And the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the gate-keepers, and the temple-servants, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
