Hesekiel 17
1 Och Herrans ord skedde till mig, och sade:
And the worde of the Lord came vnto mee, saying,
2 Du menniskobarn, gif Israels huse ena gåto och liknelse före;
Sonne of man, put foorth a parable and speake a prouerbe vnto the house of Israel,
3 Och säg: Detta säger Herren Herren: En stor örn, med stora flygt och långa vingar, och full med fjädrar och brokot, kom uppå Libanon, och tog qvistarna bort af cedreträn;
And say, Thus saith the Lord God, The great eagle with great wings, and long wings, and ful of fethers, which had diuers colours, came vnto Lebanon, and tooke the highest branch of the cedar,
4 Och bröt den öfversta skatan af, och förde honom in uti krämarelandet, och satte honom uti den staden, der handlingen var.
And brake off the toppe of his twigge, and caried it into the land of marchants, and set it in a citie of marchants.
5 Han tog ock frö af de landena, och sådde det uti det samma goda landet, der mycket vatten var, och satte det såsom ett pilträ.
Hee tooke also of the seede of the lande, and planted it in a fruitfull ground: hee placed it by great waters, and set it as a willowe tree.
6 Och det växte, och vardt ett stort vinträ, dock ganska lågt; ty dess qvistar böjde sig neder emot sina rot, och var alltså ett vinträ, det qvistar och löf fick.
And it budded vp, and was like a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward it, and the rootes thereof were vnder it: so it became a vine, and it brought foorth branches, and shot foorth buds.
7 Och der var en annar stor örn, med stora vingar och många fjädrar; och si, detta vinträt hade en längtan i sina rötter till denna örnen, och uträckte sina qvistar emot honom, att det måtte vattnadt varda af hans dike;
There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers, and beholde, this vine did turne her rootes toward it, and spred foorth her branches toward it, that she might water it by the trenches of her plantation.
8 Och var dock på eno gode lande vid mycket vatten planteradt, så att det väl hade mått fått qvistar, frukt burit, och ett stort vinträ, vordit.
It was planted in a good soyle by great waters, that it should bring forth branches, and beare fruite, and be an excellent vine.
9 Så säg nu: Alltså säger Herren Herren: Skulle det trifvas? Ja, man skall upprycka dess fötter, och afrifva dess frukt, och man skall förtorka alla dess uppväxta qvistar, att de förfalna; och det skall icke ske genom en stor arm eller mycket folk, att man må föra honom af dess rötter bort.
Say thou, Thus saith the Lord God, Shall it prosper? shall he not pull vp the rootes thereof, and destroy the fruite thereof, and cause them to drie? all the leaues of her bud shall wither without great power, or many people, to plucke it vp by the rootes thereof.
10 Si, det är planteradt; men skulle det trifvas? Ja, så snart der kommer ett östanväder till, så skall det förtorkas på sin dike.
Beholde, it was planted: but shall it prosper? shall it not be dried vp, and wither? when the East winde shall touch it, it shall wither in the trenches, where it grewe.
11 Och Herrans ord skedde till mig, och sade:
Moreouer, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
12 Käre, säg till det ohörsamma folket: Veten I icke hvad detta är? Och säg: Si, Konungen af Babel kom till Jerusalem, och tog hans Konung och hans Förstar, och förde dem bort till sig uti Babel;
Say now to this rebellious house, Know ye not, what these things meane? tell them, Behold, the King of Babel is come to Ierusalem, and hath taken the King thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babel,
13 Och tog en, af Konungsligo säd, och gjorde ett förbund med honom, och tog en ed af honom; men de väldiga i landens tog han bort;
And hath taken one of the Kings seede, and made a couenant with him, and hath taken an othe of him: he hath also taken the princes of the land,
14 På det att riket skulle ödmjukadt blifva, och icke upphäfva sig, att förbundet måtte hållet varda och ståndande blifva.
That the kingdome might be in subiection, and not lift it selfe vp, but keepe their couenant, and stand to it.
15 Men den, samma säden föll af ifrå honom, och sände sitt bådskap uti Egypten, att man skulle sända honom hästar och mycket folk; skulle det lycka sig med honom? Eller skulle han komma der väl af med, som sådant gör? Och den som förbund bryter, skulle han slippa?
But he rebelled against him, and sent his ambassadours into Egypt, that they might giue him horses, and much people: shall hee prosper? shall he escape, that doeth such things? or shall he breake the couenant, and be deliuered?
16 Så sant, som jag lefver, säger Herren Herren, uti den Konungens rum, som honom till Konung satte, hvilkens ed han föraktade, och hvilkens förbund han bröt, der skall han dö, nämliga i Babel.
As I liue, saith the Lord God, he shall die in the middes of Babel, in the place of the King, that had made him King, whose othe he despised, and whose couenant made with him, he brake.
17 Och skall Pharao intet blifva ståndandes med honom i örligena, med storom här och mycket folk; då man torfvallar uppkasta, och bålverk uppbygga skall, på det att mycket folk skall slaget blifva.
Neither shall Pharaoh with his mightie hoste, and great multitude of people, mainteine him in the warre, when they haue cast vp mounts, and builded ramparts to destroy many persons.
18 Ty efter han hafver föraktat eden, och brutit förbundet, der han sina hand uppå räckt hafver, ock allt sådant bedrifver, skall han intet kunna undslippa.
For he hath despised the othe, and broken ye couenant (yet lo, he had giuen his hand) because he hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
19 Derföre säger Herren Herren alltså: Så sant som jag lefver, skall jag låta min ed, den han föraktat hafver, och mitt förbund, som han brutit hafver, komma öfver hans hufvud.
Therefore, thus sayth the Lord God, As I liue, I wil surely bring mine othe that he hath despised, and my couenant that he hath broken vpon his owne head.
20 Ty jag skall kasta mitt nät öfver honom, och han måste i min garn fången varda, och jag skall låta honom komma till Babel, och der vill jag vara i rätta med honom; derföre, att han sig så emot mig förgripit hafver.
And I wil spread my net vpon him, and he shalbe taken in my net, and I wil bring him to Babel, and will enter into iudgement with him there for his trespas that he hath committed against me.
21 Och alle hans flyktige, som till honom hålla sig, skola falla genom svärd, och de, som af dem slippa, skola i all väder förströdde varda: och I skolen förnimma, att jag, Herren, hafver detta talat.
And all that flee from him with all his hoste, shall fall by the sword, and they that remaine, shalbe scattered towarde all the windes: and ye shall know that I the Lord haue spoken it.
22 Detta säger Herren Herren: Jag skall också taga en telning af ett högt cedreträ, och bryta honom af, öfverst uppå dess qvistom, och skall plantera honom uppå ett högt berg;
Thus saith the Lord God, I wil also take off the top of this hie cedar, and wil set it, and cut off the top of the tender plant thereof, and I wil plant it vpon an hie mountaine and great.
23 Nämliga på det höga berget Israel vill jag plantera honom, på det han skall gro och bära frukt, och varda ett stort cedreträ, så att allehanda foglar skola kunna bo och blifva under honom, och under hans qvistars skugga.
Euen in the hie mountaine of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughes and beare fruite, and be an excellent cedar, and vnder it shall remaine all birds, and euery foule shall dwell in the shadow of the branches thereof.
24 Och all trä på markene skola förnimma att jag, Herren, hafver det höga trät förnedrat, och det låga trät upphöjt, och det gröna trät förtorkat, och det torra trät grönskande gjort; jag, Herren, talar det, och gör de också.
And all the trees of the fielde shall knowe that I the Lord haue brought downe the hie tree, and exalted the lowe tree, that I haue dried vp the greene tree, and made the drie tree to florish: I the Lord haue spoken it, and haue done it.
