Ester 10

1 Och Konung Ahasveros lade en skatt uppå landet, och uppå öarna i hafvet.

And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and [upon] the isles of the sea.

2 Men allt det under hans våld och magt skedde, och om den stora härlighet, som Konungen gaf Mardechai, si, det är skrifvet uti de Konungars Chrönico i Meden och Persien.

And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 Ty Mardechai den Juden var den andre näst Konungenom Ahasveros, och stor ibland Judarna, och täck för alla sina bröder; den der sökte det godt var för sitt folk, och talade det bästa för allo sino säd.

For Mordecai the Jew [was] next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
