2 Samuelsboken 23

1 Dessa äro de sista Davids ord; David, Isai son, sade: Den mannen sadet, som för en Jacobs Guds smord uppsätter är, och en lustig Israels diktare.

These also be the last wordes of Dauid, Dauid the sonne of Ishai saith, euen the man who was set vp on hie, the Anointed of the God of Iacob, and the sweete singer of Israel saith,

2 Herrans Ande hafver talat genom mig, och hans ord är skedt genom mina tungo.

The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his worde was in my tongue.

3 Israels Gud hafver talat till mig; Israels tröst hafver mig tillsagt, den der råder öfver menniskorna, den rättvise rådanden i Guds fruktan;

The God of Israel spake to me, ye strength of Israel saide, Thou shalt beare rule ouer men, being iust, and ruling in the feare of God.

4 Såsom ljuset är om morgonen, då solen uppgår bittida, utan moln; och af skenet efter regn växer gräs upp af jordene.

Euen as the morning light when the sunne riseth, the morning, I say, without cloudes, so shall mine house be, and not as the grasse of the earth is by the bright raine.

5 Ty ingen ting är för Gudi såsom mitt hus; ty han hafver gjort ett evigt förbund med mig, i alla måtto visst och fast; ty det är all min salighet, och all lust, att intet så växa skall.

For so shall not mine house be with God: for he hath made with me an euerlasting couenant, perfite in all pointes, and sure: therefore all mine health and whole desire is, that he will not make it growe so.

6 Men den ogudaktige Belial skall varda alldeles utrotad såsom törne, så att man intet behåller deraf.

But the wicked shalbe euery one as thornes thrust away, because they can not be taken with handes.

7 Och om någor antastar dem, skola de med jern och spets platt förderfva dem; och man skall uppbränna dem med eld i deras rum.

But the man that shall touch them, must be defensed with yron, or with the shaft of a speare: and they shall be burnt with fire in the same place.

8 Desse äro namnen af Davids hjeltar: Jasabeam, Hachmoni son, den ypperste ibland tre; hvilken upphof sin spets, och slog ihjäl åttahundrad i ena reso.

These be the names of the mightie men whome Dauid had. He that sate in the seate of wisedome, being chiefe of the princes, was Adino of Ezni, he slewe eight hundreth at one time.

9 Näst honom var Eleazar, Dodi son, Ahohi sons, ibland de tre hjeltar med David, då de förhädde de Philisteer, och voro der församlade till strid, och Israels män drogo upp.

And after him was Eleazar the sonne of Dodo, the sonne of Ahohi, one of the three worthies with Dauid, when they defied the Philistims gathered there to battel, when the men of Israel were gone vp.

10 Då stod han, och slog de Philisteer, tilldess hans hand dofnade, trött af svärdena. Och Herren gaf en stor salighet på den tiden, så att folket vände om igen efter honom till att röfva.

He arose and smote the Philistims vntill his hande was wearie, and his hande claue vnto the sworde: and the Lord gaue great victorie the same day, and the people returned after him onely to spoyle.

11 Efter honom var Samma, Age son, den Hararitens. Då de Philisteer församlade sig i en rota, och der var en åker full med linse, och folket flydde för de Philisteer;

After him was Shammah the sonne of Age the Hararite: for the Philistims assembled at a towne, where was a piece of a fielde full of lentils, and the people fled from the Philistims.

12 Då trädde han midt uppå den åkren, och undsatte honom, och slog de Philisteer; och Herren gaf en stor salighet.

But he stoode in the middes of the fielde, and defended it, and slewe the Philistims: so the Lord gaue great victorie.

13 Och desse tre ypperste ibland tretio kommo neder i andene, till David uti kulona Adullam; och de Philisteers rote låg i Rephaims dal.

Afterward three of the thirtie captaines went downe, and came to Dauid in the haruest time vnto the caue of Adullam, and the hoste of the Philistims pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

14 Men David var på den tiden på borgene; och de Philisteers folk låg i BethLehem.

And Dauid was then in an holde, and the garison of ye Philistims was then in Beth-lehem.

15 Och David vardt lysten och sade: Ho vill hemta mig dricka af det vatten i BethLehems brunn, under portenom?

And Dauid longed, and said, Oh, that one would giue me to drinke of the water of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate.

16 Då föllo de tre hjeltar in uti de Philisteers lägre, och hemtade vatten utu brunnenom i BethLehem, under porten, och båro till David; men han ville intet dricka det, utan utgöt det Herranom;

The the three mightie brake into the host of the Philistims, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem that was by the gate, and tooke and brought it to Dauid, who woulde not drinke thereof, but powred it for an offring vnto ye Lord,

17 Och sade: Det låte Herren vara långt ifrå mig, att jag detta göra skulle; är det icke de mäns blod, som sitt lif vågade, och gingo dit? Och han ville icke drickat. Det gjorde nu de tre hjeltar.

And said, O Lord, be it farre from me, that I should doe this. Is not this the blood of the men that went in ieopardie of their liues? therefore he woulde not drinke it. These things did these three mightie men.

18 Abisai, Joabs broder, ZeruJa son, var ock en ypperst ibland tre. Han hof sin spets upp, och slog trehundrad, och var också prisad ibland tre;

And Abishai the brother of Ioab, the sonne of Zeruiah, was chiefe among the three, and he lifted vp his speare against three hundreth, and slewe them, and he had the name among the three.

19 Och den härligaste ibland tre och var deras öfverste; men han kom icke intill de tre.

For he was most excellent of the three, and was their captaine, but he attained not vnto the first three.

20 Och Benaja, Jojada son, IsHails sons af storom gerningom, af Kabzeel, han slog tu de Moabiters lejon, och gick ned, och slog ett lejon i brunnenom i snötiden;

And Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada the sonne of a valiant man, which had done many actes, and was of Kabzeel, slewe two strong men of Moab: he went downe also, and slewe a lyon in the middes of a pit in the time of snowe.

21 Och slog desslikes en grufvelig Egyptisk man; den hade en spets i sine hand; men han gick neder till honom med en staf, och tog den Egyptien spetsen utu handene, och slog honom ihjäl med sin egen spets.

And he slewe an Egyptian a man of great stature, and the Egyptian had a speare in his hande: but he went downe to him with a staffe, and plucked the speare out of the Egyptians hand, and slewe him with his owne speare.

22 Detta gjorde Benaja, Jojada son, och var beprisad ibland de tre hjeltar;

These things did Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and had the name among the three worthies.

23 Och härligare än de tretio; men han kom icke till de tre. Och David gjorde honom till sitt hemliga Råd.

He was honourable among thirtie, but he atteined not to the first three: and Dauid made him of his counsell.

24 Asahel, Joabs broder, är ibland de tretio; Elhanan, Dodo son, i BethLehem;

Asahel the brother of Ioab was one of the thirtie: Elhanan the sonne of Dodo of Beth-lehem:

25 Samma den Haroditen; Elika den Haroditen;

Shammah the Harodite: Elika ye Harodite:

26 Helez den Palthiten; Ira, Ikkes son, den Thekoitens;

Helez the Paltite: Ira the sonne of Ikkesh the Tekoite:

27 Abieser den Annethothiten; Mebunnai den Husathiten;

Abiezer the Anethothite: Mebunnai the Husathite:

28 Zalmon den Achothiten; Maharai den Netophathiten;

Zalmon an Ahohite: Maharai the Netophathite:

29 Heleb, Baena son, den Netophathiten; Itthai, Ribai son, af Gibea BenJamins barnas;

Heleb the sonne of Baanah a Netophathite: Ittai the sonne of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Beniamin:

30 Benaja, den Pirgathoniten; Hiddai, af de bäcker Gaas;

Benaiah the Pirathonite: Hiddai of the riuer of Gaash:

31 AbiAlbon den Arbathiten; Asmaveth den Barhumiten;

Abi-albon the Arbathite: Azmaueth the Barhumite:

32 Eliaheba den Saalboniten, Jasens och Jonathans barn;

Elihaba the Shaalbonite: of the sonnes of Iashen, Ionathan:

33 Samma den Harariten; Ahiam, Sarars son, dens Araritens;

Shammah the Hararite: Ahiam the sonne of Sharar the Hamrite:

34 Eliphelet, Ahasbai son, Maachathi sons; Eliam, Achitophels son, dens Gilonitens;

Eliphelet the sonne of Ahasbai the sonne of Maachathi: Eliam the sonne of Ahithophel the Gilonite:

35 Hezrai den Carmeliten; Paarai den Arbiten;

Hezrai the Carmelite: Paarai the Arbite:

36 Jigeal, Nathans son, af Zoba; Bani den Gaditen;

Igal the sonne of Nathan of Zobah: Bani the Gadite:

37 Zelek den Ammoniten; Naharai den Beerothiten, Joabs vapnedragare, ZeruJa sons;

Zelek the Ammonite: Naharai the Becrothite, the armour bearer of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah:

38 Ira den Jithriten; Gareb den Jithriten;

Ira the Ithrite: Gareb the Ithrite:

39 Uria den Hetheen. De äro alle tillhopa sju och tretio.
