2 Krönikeboken 22
1 Och de i Jerusalem gjorde till Konung Ahasia hans yngsta son, i hans stad; förty krigsfolket, som utaf de Araber med här kommo, hade de första alla ihjälslagit; derföre vardt Ahasia Konung, Jorams son, Juda Konungs.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem cause his youngest son Ahaziah to reign in his stead (for the troop had slain all the chiefly that came in with the Arabians to the camp), and Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, reigns.
2 Tu och fyratio år gammal var Ahasia, då han Konung vardt, och regerade ett år i Jerusalem. Hans moder het Athalja, Amri dotter.
Ahaziah [is] a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned one year in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Athaliah daughter of Omri;
3 Han vandrade ock uti Achabs hus vägar; ty hans moder höll honom dertill, att han skulle göra det ondt var.
he has also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother has been his counselor to do wickedly.
4 Derföre gjorde han det Herranom icke behagade, såsom Achabs hus; ty de voro hans rådgifvare efter hans faders död, så att de förderfvade honom.
And he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the house of Ahab, for they have been his counselors, after the death of his father, for destruction to him.
5 Och han vandrade efter deras råd, och han drog bort med Joram, Achabs son, Israels Konung, i strid, till Ramoth i Gilead, emot Hasael, Konungen i Syrien. Men de i Rama slogo Joram;
Also, he has walked in their counsel, and goes with Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, to battle against Hazael king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilead, and they of Ramah strike Joram;
6 Så att han omvände, till att låta läka sig i Jisreel; förty han hade sår, som han fått hade i Rama, då han stridde med Hasael, Konungen i Syrien. Och Asaria, Jorams son, Juda Konungs, for ned till att bese Joram, Achabs son, i Jisreel, som krank låg.
and he turns back to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds with which they had struck him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Azariah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, has gone down to see Jehoram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he [is] sick;
7 Ty den ofärden var så af Gudi Ahasia tillfogad, att han skulle komma till Joram, och så med Joram utdraga emot Jehu, Nimsi son, hvilken Herren smort hade, till att utrota Achabs hus.
and to come to Joram has been from God [for] the destruction of Ahaziah; and in his coming he has gone out with Jehoram to Jehu son of Nimshi, whom YHWH anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
8 Då nu Jehu höll uppå att straffa Achabs hus, fann han några öfverstar af Juda, och Ahasia bröders barn, som tjente, och drap dem.
And it comes to pass, in Jehu’s executing judgment with the house of Ahab, that he finds the heads of Judah and sons of the brothers of Ahaziah, ministers of Ahaziah, and slays them.
9 Och han sökte Ahasia, och fick honom fatt, der han sig undstungit hade i Samarien; och han vardt hafder fram för Jehu. Han drap honom, och man begrof honom; ty de sade: Han är Josaphats son, hvilken efter Herran sökte af allt hjerta. Och var sedan ingen qvar utaf Ahasia huse, som Konung kunde varda.
And he seeks Ahaziah, and they capture him (and he is hiding himself in Samaria), and bring him to Jehu, and put him to death, and bury him, for they said, “He [is] son of Jehoshaphat, who sought YHWH with all his heart”; and there is none of the house of Ahaziah to retain power for the kingdom.
10 Då nu Athalja, Ahasia moder, såg att hennes son död var, stod hon upp, och förgjorde all Konungslig säd i Juda hus.
And Athaliah mother of Ahaziah has seen that her son is dead, and she rises and destroys the whole seed of the kingdom of the house of Judah.
11 Men Josabeath, Konungens dotter, tog Johas, Ahasia son, och stal honom undan ibland Konungsbarnen, som dräpne vordo, och lät honom med hans ammo uti en sängakammar. Alltså fördolde honom för Athalja Josabeath, Konung Jorams dotter, Prestens Jojada hustru; ty hon var Ahasia syster; att han icke dräpen vardt.
And Jehoshabeath daughter of the king takes Joash son of Ahaziah, and steals him from the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, and puts him and his nurse into the inner part of the bed-chambers, and Jehoshabeath daughter of King Jehoram, wife of Jehoiada the priest, because she has been sister of Ahaziah, hides him from the face of Athaliah, and she has not put him to death.
12 Och han var med dem i Guds hus fördold i sex år, medan Athalja regerade i landena.
And he is with them in the house of God hiding himself [for] six years, and Athaliah is reigning over the land.
