1 Kungaboken 19
1 Och Achab sade till Isebel allt det Elia gjort hade; och huru han hade dräpit alla Baals Propheter med svärd.
And he told Ahab to Jezebel all that he had done Elijah and all that he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
2 Då sände Isebel ett båd till Elia, och lät säga honom: Gudarne göre mig det och det, om jag icke, i morgon vid denna tiden, gör dine själ såsom ene af dessas själar.
And she sent Jezebel a messenger to Elijah saying thus may they do! [the] gods and thus may they add! if about this time tomorrow I will make life your like [the] life of one from them.
3 Då han det såg, stod han upp, och gick hvart han ville, och kom till BerSeba i Juda, och lät der sin dräng.
And he saw and he arose and he went to life his and he came Beer Sheba which [belongs] to Judah and he left servant his there.
4 Men han gick bort uti öknena ena dagsreso, och kom derin, och satte sig under ett enebärsträ, och bad att hans själ måtte dö, och sade: Det är nog. Så tag nu, Herre, mina själ; jag är icke bättre än mine fäder.
And he he went in the wilderness a journey of a day and he came and he sat under a broom plant (one *Q(k)*) and he asked self his to die and he said - enough now O Yahweh take life my for not [am] good I more than ancestors my.
5 Och han lade sig, och sof under enebärsträt. Och si, Ängelen tog uppå honom, och sade till honom: Statt upp, och ät.
And he lay down and he slept under a broom plant one and there! this an angel [was] touching him and he said to him arise eat.
6 Och han såg sig om; och si, vid hans hufvud låg ett glödbakadt bröd, och en kanna med vatten. Och då han ätit och druckit hade, lade han sig åter till att sofva.
And he looked and there! [was] [the] place of head his a bread cake of hot coals and a jug of water and he ate and he drank and he returned and he lay down.
7 Och Herrans Ängel kom till honom annan gången igen, och tog på honom, och sade: Statt upp, och ät; ty du hafver en stor väg för dig.
And he returned [the] angel of Yahweh - a second [time] and he touched him and he said arise eat for [is too] great for you the journey.
8 Och han stod upp, och åt, och drack, och gick af den matens kraft fyratio dagar och fyratio nätter intill Guds berg Horeb;
And he arose and he ate and he drank and he went in [the] strength of - the food that forty day[s] and forty night[s] to [the] mountain of God Horeb.
9 Och kom der uti ena kulo, och blef der öfver nattena. Och si, Herrans ord kom till honom, och sade till honom: Hvad gör du här, Elia?
And he went there into the cave and he spent [the] night there and there! [the] word of Yahweh [was] to him and he said to him what? [is] to you here O Elijah.
10 Han sade: Jag hafver haft nit om Herran Gud Zebaoth; förty Israels barn hafva öfvergifvit ditt förbund, och nederbrutit din altare, och dräpit dina Propheter med svärd; och jag är allena igenblifven, och de fara efter att de måga taga mig lifvet af.
And he said certainly I have been zealous for Yahweh - [the] God of hosts for they have forsaken covenant your [the] people of Israel altars your they have torn down and prophets your they have killed with the sword and I am left I to alone me and they have sought life my to take away it.
11 Han sade: Gack härut, och stig upp på berget inför Herran. Och si, Herren gick der framom, och ett stort starkt väder, som bröt berg, och sönderbråkade hällar inför Herranom; men icke var Herren i vädrena. Efter vädret kom en jordbäfning; men icke var Herren i jordbäfningen.
And he said go out and you will stand on the mountain before Yahweh and there! Yahweh [was] passing by and a wind great and strong [was] tearing mountains and breaking rocks before Yahweh not [was] in the wind Yahweh and [was] after the wind an earthquake not [was] in the earthquake Yahweh.
12 Och efter jordbäfningen kom en eld; men icke var Herren i eldenom. Och efter elden kom ett ljud af ett sakta väder.
And [was] after the earthquake a fire not [was] in the fire Yahweh and [was] after the fire a sound of a whisper soft.
13 Då Elia det hörde, skylde han sitt ansigte med sin mantel, och gick ut, och steg i dörrena af kulone; och si, då kom en röst till honom, och sade: Hvad hafver du här göra, Elia?
And it was - when heard Elijah and he wrapped face his in cloak his and he went out and he stood [the] entrance of the cave and there! [was] to him a voice and it said what? [is] to you here O Elijah.
14 Han sade: Jag hafver haft nit om Herran Gud Zebaoth; förty Israels barn hafva öfvergifvit ditt förbund, nederbrutit din altare, dräpit dina Propheter med svärd; och jag är allena igenblifven, och de stå derefter, att de måga taga mig lifvet af.

15 Men Herren sade till honom: Gack din väg igen, genom öknena in i Damascon; och gack derin, och smörj Hasael till Konung öfver Syrien;
And he said Yahweh to him go go back to way your [the] wilderness of towards Damascus and you will go and you will anoint Hazael to king over Aram.
16 Och Jehu, Nimsi son, till Konung öfver Israel; och Elisa, Saphats son, af AbelMehola, till en Prophet i din stad.
And Jehu [the] son of Nimshi you will anoint to king over Israel and Elisha [the] son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah you will anoint to prophet in place of you.
17 Och skall ske, att den som undslipper Hasaels svärd, honom skall Jehu dräpa; och den som undslipper Jehu svärd, honom skall Elisa dräpa.
And it will be the [one who] escapes from [the] sword of Hazael he will put to death Jehu and the [one who] escapes from [the] sword of Jehu he will put to death Elisha.
18 Och jag skall låta igenblifva sjutusend i Israel, nämliga all knä som sig icke hafva böjt för Baal, och hvar och en mun som honom icke kysst hafver.
And I will leave among Israel seven thousand all the knees which not they have bowed down to Baal and every mouth which not it has kissed it.
19 Och han gick dädan, och fann Elisa, Saphats son, der han plöjde med tolf par oxar, och han var sjelf ibland de tolf; och Elia gick till honom, och kastade sin mantel öfver honom.
And he went from there and he found Elisha [the] son of Shaphat and he [was] plowing two [plus] ten pairs [were] before him and he [was] with two [plus] the ten and he passed on Elijah to him and he threw cloak his to him.
20 Men han öfvergaf oxarna, och lopp efter Elia, och sade: Låt mig kyssa min fader, och mina moder, så vill jag följa dig efter. Han sade till honom: Gack, och kom igen; ty jag hafver något beställa med dig.
And he left the ox[en] and he ran after Elijah and he said I want to kiss please father my and mother my and I will go after you and he said to him go turn back for what? have I done to you.
21 Och han lopp åter ifrå honom, och tog ett par oxar, och offrade dem, och kokade köttet med träredskapen till oxarna, och gaf folket, att de åto; och stod upp, och följde Elia efter och tjente honom.
And he turned back from after him and he took [the] pair of the ox[en] and he sacrificed it and with [the] equipment of the ox[en] he cooked them the flesh and he gave [it] to the people and they ate and he arose and he went after Elijah and he served him.
