1 Krönikeboken 15

1 Och han byggde sig hus uti Davids stad, och tillredde ett rum till Guds ark, och gjorde ett tabernakel öfver honom.

And [David] made himself houses in the city of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

2 På den tiden sade David: Guds ark bör icke bäras, utan af de Leviter; ty dem hafver Herren utvalt, att de skola bära Guds ark, och tjena honom evinnerliga.

Then said David, None shall carry the ark of God but the Levites; for of them hath the Lord made choice to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

3 Derföre församlade David hela Israel till Jerusalem, att de skulle bära Herrans ark upp i det rum, som han dertill beredt hade.

And David assembled all Israel to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto its place, which he had prepared for it.

4 Och David lät komma tillhopa Aarons barn, och Leviterna:

And David gathered together the children of Aaron, and the Levites.

5 Utaf Kehats barn, Uriel, den öfversten, med hans bröder, tjugu och hundrade;

Of the sons of Kehath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twenty.

6 Utaf Merari barn, Asaja, den öfversten, med hans bröder, tjugu och tuhundrade;

Of the sons of Merari: 'Assayah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty.

7 Utaf Gersoms barn, Joel, den öfversten, med hans bröder, tretio och hundrade;

Of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and thirty.

8 Utaf Elisaphans barn, Semaja, den öfversten, med hans bröder, tuhundrade;

Of the sons of Elizaphan: Shema'yah the chief, and his brethren two hundred.

9 Utaf Hebrons barn, Eliel, den öfversten, med hans bröder, åttatio;

Of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren eighty.

10 Utaf Ussiels barn, Amminadab, den öfversten, med hans bröder, tolf och hundrade.

Of the sons of 'Uzziel: 'Amminadab the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twelve.

11 Och David kallade Zadok och AbJathar, Presterna och Leviterna, nämliga Uriel, Asaja, Joel, Semaja, Eliel, Amminadab;

And David called for Zadok and Ebyathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, 'Assayah, and Joel, Shema'yah, and Eliel, and 'Amminadab,

12 Och sade till dem: I ären hufvuden för fäderna ibland de Leviter; så helger eder nu och edra bröder, att I mågen uppbära Herrans Israels Guds ark dit, der jag honom tillredt hafver:

And he said unto them, Ye are the chiefs of the family divisions of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel unto [the place which] I have prepared for it.

13 Ty tillförene, när I icke voren tillstädes, gjorde Herren vår Gud en refvo ibland oss, derföre att vi icke sökte honom, såsom det borde sig.

For, because ye [did] it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among us; because we had not sought him after the prescribed manner.

14 Alltså helgade Presterna sig och Leviterna, att de skulle uppbära Herrans Israels Guds ark.

So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel.

15 Och Levi barn båro Guds ark på sina axlar, med stängerna dervid, såsom Mose budit hade efter Herrans ord.

And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the Lord, on their shoulders, by means of barrows placed upon them.

16 Och David sade till de öfverstar för de Leviter, att de skulle sätta sina bröder till sångare, med strängaspel, med psaltare, harpor och klingande cymbaler, så att de högt söngo och med fröjd.

And David said to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, to sing aloud, by lifting up the voice for joy.

17 Då beställde de Leviter Hem an, Joels son, och utaf hans bröder Assaph, Berechia son, och utaf Merari barn deras bröder, Ethan, Kusaja son;

So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel, and of his brethren, Assaph the son of Berechyahu, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushayahu;

18 Och med dem deras bröder af det andra skiftet, nämliga Zacharia, Ben, Jaesiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaja, Maaseja, Mattithia, Elipheleja, Mikneja, ObedEdom, Jegiel, dörravaktarena.

And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zecharyahu, Ben, and Ja'aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, Eliab, and Benayahu, and Ma'asseyahu, and Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je'iel, the gatekeepers.

19 Ty Heman, Assaph och Ethan voro sångare med kopparcymbaler, att klinga högt.

Namely, the singers, Heman, Assaph, and Ethan, to play aloud with cymbals of copper;

20 Men Zacharia, Asiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseja och Benaja, med psaltare, till att sjunga efter.

And Zechariah, and 'Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, and Eliab, and Ma'asseyahu, and Benayahu, with psalteries on 'Alamoth;

21 Men Mattithia, Elipheleja, Mikneja, ObedEdom, Jegiel och Asasia, med harpor af åtta stränger, till att sjunga för dem.

And Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je-iel, and 'Azazyahu, with harps on the Sheminith to play as leaders.

22 Men Chenanja, Leviternas öfverste sångmästare, att han skulle undervisa dem om sången, ty han var förståndig.

And Kenanyahu was the chief of the Levites in conducting the singing: he instructed in conducting the singing, because he was skilful.

23 Och Berechia och Elkana voro dörravaktare om arken.

And Berechyah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.

24 Men Sechania, Josaphat, Nethaneel, Amasai, Zacharia, Benaja, Elieser, Presterna, blåste med trummeter för Guds ark. Och ObedEdom och Jehia voro dörravaktare om arken.

And Shebanyahu, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and 'Amassai, and Zecharyahu, and Benayahu, and Eli'ezer, the priests, did blow on the trumpets before the ark of God; and 'Obed-edom and Jechiyah were gatekeepers for the ark.

25 Alltså gingo David och de äldste i Israel, och de öfverste öfver tusende upp, till att hem ta Herrans förbunds ark utur ObedEdoms hus med fröjd.

And it was David, with the elders of Israel, and the officers over the thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of 'Obed-edom with joy.

26 Och medan Gud halp Leviterna, som båro Herrans förbunds ark, offrade man sju stutar och sju vädrar.

And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

27 Och David hade en linnan kjortel uppå; så ock alle Leviter, som arken båro, och sångarena och Chenanja sångmästaren, med sångarena; hade också David en linnan lifkjortel uppå.

And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and [so were] all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singers, and Kenanyahu the chief in conducting the singing of the singers; but David had also upon him an ephod of linen.

28 Alltså båro hele Israel Herrans förbunds ark upp med fröjd, basuner, trummeter och klingande cymbaler, med psaltare och harpor.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, playing aloud on psalteries and harps.

29 Då nu Herrans förbunds ark kom uti Davids stad, såg Michal, Sauls dotter, ut genom fenstret; och då hon fick se Konung David springa och spela, föraktade hon honom i sitt hjerta.

And it happened, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came as far as the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked through the window, and saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
