Mathayo 22
1 Yesu alisema nao tena kwa kutumia mifano:
Once more Jesus answered them in parables.
2 “Ufalme wa mbinguni umefanana na mfalme aliyemwandalia mwanawe karamu ya arusi.
"The kingdom of heaven," he said, "may be compared to a king who made a wedding-feast for his son.
3 Basi, akawatuma watumishi kuwaita walioalikwa waje arusini, lakini walioalikwa hawakutaka kufika.
"He sent out his slaves to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they did not want to come.
4 Akawatuma tena watumishi wengine, akisema, Waambieni wale walioalikwa: karamu yangu iko tayari sasa; fahali wangu na ng'ombe wanono wamekwisha chinjwa; kila kitu ni tayari, njoni arusini.
"Again he sent out other slaves. ‘Tell the invited guests,’ he said,’that my luncheon is now ready; my oxen and fat cattle are killed; everything is ready; come to the wedding-feast.’
5 Lakini wao hawakujali, wakaenda zao; mmoja shambani kwake, mwingine kwenye shughuli zake,
"They, however, paid no attention, but went off, one to his own farm, another to his business;
6 na wengine wakawakamata wale watumishi wakawatukana, wakawaua.
"while the rest seized his slaves and maltreated and murdered them.
7 Yule mfalme akakasirika, akawatuma askari wake wakawaangamize wauaji hao na kuuteketeza mji wao.
"Then the king’s wrath was roused, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Kisha akawaambia watumishi wake: Karamu ya arusi iko tayari kweli, lakini walioalikwa hawakustahili.
"Then he said to his slaves, "‘The wedding-feast indeed is ready, but the invited guests were not worthy.
9 Basi, nendeni kwenye barabara na wowote wale mtakaowakuta waiteni waje arusini.
"‘So go out into the partings of the highways, and summon everybody you find there to the wedding-feast.’
10 Wale watumishi wakatoka, wakaenda njiani, wakawaleta watu wote, wabaya na wema. Nyumba ya arusi ikajaa wageni.
"So those slaves went out into the roads, and gathered together all whom they found, good or bad, and the banquet-hall was filled with the guests.
11 “Mfalme alipoingia kuwaona wageni, akamwona mtu mmoja ambaye hakuvaa mavazi ya arusi.
"Then the king came in to inspect his guests, and he discovered there a man who had not put on a wedding-garment. He said to him,
12 Mfalme akamwuliza, Rafiki, umeingiaje hapa bila vazi la arusi? Lakini yeye akakaa kimya.
"‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding-garment?’ "The man was speechless.
13 Hapo mfalme akawaambia watumishi, Mfungeni miguu na mikono mkamtupe nje gizani; huko atalia na kusaga meno.”
"‘Bind him hand and foot, ‘said the king to his officers, ‘and cast him into the outer darkness; there will be the wailing and the gnashing of teeth.’
14 Yesu akamaliza kwa kusema, “Wengi wamealikwa, lakini wachache wameteuliwa.”
"For there are many called, but few are chosen."
15 Kisha, Mafarisayo wakaenda zao, wakashauriana jinsi ya kumnasa Yesu kwa maneno yake.
Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might ensnare him during conversation.
16 Basi, wakawatuma wafuasi wao pamoja na wafuasi wa kikundi cha Herode. Wakamwuliza, “Mwalimu, tunajua kwamba wewe ni mtu mwaminifu, na kwamba wafundisha njia ya Mungu kwa uaminifu; humwogopi mtu yeyote, maana cheo cha mtu si kitu kwako.
So they sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know that you are honest, and that you are teaching the way of God in sincerity; and are not afraid of any one, for you do not court men’s favor.
17 Haya, twambie maoni yako. Je, ni halali au la, kulipa Kaisari?”
"Give us your advice, then. Is it allowable to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
18 Lakini Yesu alitambua uovu wao, akawaambia, “Enyi
And Jesus, because he knew their malice, said.
19 Nionyesheni fedha ya kulipia kodi.” Nao wakamtolea sarafu ya fedha. sarafu ya fedha.
"Hypocrites! Why are you tempting me? Show me the tribute money." So they brought him a shilling.
20 Basi, Yesu akawauliza, “Sura na chapa hii ni ya nani?”
"Whose likeness and inscription is this?" he asked.
21 Wakamjibu, “Ni vya Kaisari.” Hapo Yesu akawaambia, “Basi, mpeni Kaisari yaliyo yake Kaisari, na Mungu yaliyo yake Mungu.”
"Caesar’s," they answered. Then he said to them, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s."
22 Waliposikia hivyo wakashangaa; wakamwacha, wakaenda zao.
When they heard this they were astonished, and left him and went away.
23 Siku hiyo, baadhi ya Masadukayo walimwendea Yesu. Hao ndio wale wasemao kwamba wafu hawafufuki.
That very day there came to him some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection. and they questioned him.
24 Basi, wakamwambia, “Mwalimu, Mose alisema mtu aliyeoa akifa bila kuacha watoto, lazima ndugu yake amwoe huyo mama mjane, amzalie ndugu yake watoto.
"Master," they said, "Moses taught that if a man dies without issue, his brother is to marry the widow, and raise up a family for his brother.
25 Sasa, hapa petu palikuwa na ndugu saba. Wa kwanza alioa kisha akafa bila kujaliwa watoto, akamwachia ndugu yake huyo mke wake mjane.
"Now there were of our number seven brothers; and the first married and died. As he had no children, he left his wife to his brother;
26 Ikawa vivyo hivyo kwa ndugu wa pili, na wa tatu, mpaka wa saba.
"In the same way the second also died, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 Baada ya ndugu hao wote kufa, akafa pia yule mama.
"Last of all the woman died.
28 Je, siku wafu watakapofufuka mama huyo atakuwa mke wa nani miongoni mwa wale ndugu saba? Maana Wote saba walimwoa.”
"In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be? They all had her."
29 Yesu akawajibu, “Kweli mmekosea kwa sababu hamjui Maandiko Matakatifu wala nguvu ya Mungu!
In answer Jesus said. "You err because you do not know the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Maana wafu watakapofufuliwa hawataoa wala kuolewa, watakuwa kama malaika mbinguni.
"For in the resurrection men do not marry, nor are women given in marriage, but they are like angels in heaven.
31 Lakini kuhusu suala la wafu kufufuka, hamjasoma yale aliyowaambieni Mungu?
"But concerning the resurrection of the dead, did you never read what was spoken to you by God,
32 Aliwaambia, Mimi ni Mungu wa Abrahamu, Isaka na Yakobo! Basi, yeye si Mungu wa wafu, bali ni Mungu wa walio hai.”
"I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
33 Ule umati wa watu uliposikia hivyo ukayastaajabia mafundisho yake.
And when the crowds heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
34 Mafarisayo waliposikia kwamba Yesu alikuwa amewanyamazisha Masadukayo, wakakutana pamoja.
As soon as the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together,
35 Mmoja wao, mwanasheria, akamwuliza Yesu kwa kumjaribu,
and one of them, a lawyer, tested him by asking a question.
36 “Mwalimu, ni amri ipi iliyo kuu katika Sheria ya Mose?”
"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?"
37 Yesu akamjibu, “Mpende Bwana Mungu wako kwa moyo wako wote, kwa roho yako yote na kwa akili yako yote.
Jesus answered, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 Hii ndiyo amri kuu ya kwanza.
"This is the great and first commandment.
39 Ya pili inafanana na hiyo: Mpende jirani yako kama unavyojipenda wewe mwenyewe.
"The second, which is like it, is this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 Sheria yote ya Mose na mafundisho ya manabii vinategemea amri hizi mbili.”
"On those two commandments hang the whole law and the prophets."
41 Mafarisayo walipokusanyika pamoja, Yesu aliwauliza,
Now while the Pharisees were together, Jesus put this question to them.
42 “Ninyi mwaonaje juu ya Kristo? Je, ni mwana wa nani?” Wakamjibu, “Wa Daudi.”
"What is your opinion concerning the Christ? Whose Son is he?" "David’s," they answered.
43 Yesu akawaambia, “Basi, inawezekanaje kwamba kwa nguvu ya Roho Mtakatifu Daudi anamwita yeye Bwana? Maana alisema:
"How then, "he said, "does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 Bwana alimwambia Bwana wangu: keti upande wangu wa kulia, mpaka niwaweke adui zako chini ya miguu yako.
"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand Until I put thine enemies beneath thy feet?
45 Basi, ikiwa Daudi anamwita Kristo Bwana, anawezaje kuwa mwanawe?”
"If David calls him Lord, how can he be his Son?"
46 Hakuna mtu yeyote aliyeweza kumjibu neno. Na tangu siku hiyo hakuna aliyethubutu tena kumwuliza swali.
No one could answer him a word, nor did any one dare from that day to ask him another question.
