Yohana 18
1 Yesu alipokwisha sema hayo, alikwenda ng'ambo ya kijito Kedroni, pamoja na wanafunzi wake. Mahali hapo palikuwa na bustani, naye Yesu akaingia humo pamoja na wanafunzi wake.
These things having said (*ko*) Jesus went out with the disciples of Him beyond the winter stream (of the *N(k)O*) of Kidron where there was a garden into which entered He himself and the disciples of Him.
2 Yuda, aliyemsaliti Yesu, alipajua mahali hapo kwani mara nyingi Yesu alikutana na wanafunzi wake huko.
Knew now also Judas who is delivering up Him the place, because often gathered together (*ko*) Jesus there with the disciples of Him.
3 Basi, Yuda alichukua kikosi cha askari na walinzi kutoka kwa makuhani wakuu na Mafarisayo, akaja nao bustanini wakiwa na taa, mienge na silaha.
Therefore Judas having procured the cohort and from the chief priests and from the Pharisees officers comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Yesu, hali akijua yote yatakayompata, akatokea, akawauliza, “Mnamtafuta nani?”
Jesus (therefore *NK(o)*) knowing all things that are coming upon Him (he went out *N(k)O*) (also *no*) (speaks *N(k)O*) to them; Whom seek you?
5 Nao wakamjibu, “Yesu wa Nazareti!” Yesu akawaambia, “Mimi ndiye.” Msaliti Yuda alikuwa amesimama hapo pamoja nao.
They answered to Him; Jesus of Nazareth. He says to them (*ko*) (Jesus: *KO*) I myself am [He]. Had been standing now also Judas who is delivering up Him with them.
6 Basi, Yesu alipowaambia: “Mimi ndiye”, wakarudi nyuma, wakaanguka chini.
When therefore He said to them (that: *k*) I myself am [He], they drew toward the back and fell to [the] ground.
7 Yesu akawauliza tena, “Mnamtafuta nani?” Wakamjibu, “Yesu wa Nazareti!”
Again therefore He questioned them: Whom seek you? And they said; Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Yesu akawaambia, “Nimekwisha waambieni kwamba mimi ndiye. Basi, kama mnanitafuta mimi, waacheni hawa waende zao.”
Answered (*k*) Jesus; I have told you that I myself am [He]. If therefore Me myself you seek, do allow these to go away;
9 (Alisema hayo ili yapate kutimia yale aliyosema: “Wale ulionipa sikumpoteza hata mmoja.”)
so that may be fulfilled the word that He had spoken that Those whom You have given Me not I lost of them not [one].
10 Simoni Petro alikuwa na upanga; basi, akauchomoa, akamkata sikio la kulia mtumishi wa Kuhani Mkuu. Mtumishi huyo aliitwa Malko.
Simon then Peter having a sword drew it and he struck the of the high priest servant and cut off of him the (ear *N(k)O*) right; Was now name of the servant Malchus.
11 Basi, Yesu akamwambia Petro, “Rudisha upanga wako alani. Je, nisinywe kikombe alichonipa Baba?”
Said therefore Jesus to Peter; do put the sword (of you *k*) into the sheath. The cup which has given Me the Father certainly surely shall I drink it?
12 Kile kikosi cha askari, mkuu wake na walinzi wa Wayahudi walimkamata Yesu, wakamfunga
Then the cohort and the commander and the officers of the Jews took hold of Jesus and bound Him
13 na kumpeleka kwanza kwa Anasi; Anasi alikuwa baba mkwe wa Kayafa ambaye alikuwa Kuhani Mkuu mwaka huo.
and (they brought away *N(k)O*) (him *k*) to Annas first; he was for father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest on the year same.
14 Huyo Kayafa ndiye aliyekuwa amewashauri Wayahudi kwamba ni afadhali mtu mmoja afe kwa ajili ya taifa.
Was now Caiaphas the [one] having given counsel to the Jews that it is profitable for one man (to die *N(k)O*) for the people.
15 Simoni Petro pamoja na mwanafunzi mwingine walimfuata Yesu. Huyo mwanafunzi mwingine alikuwa anajulikana kwa Kuhani Mkuu, hivyo aliingia pamoja na Yesu ndani ya ukumbi wa Kuhani Mkuu.
Were following now after Jesus Simon Peter and (the *ko*) other disciple. the Now disciple that [one] was known to the high priest also he entered with Jesus into the court of the high priest.
16 Lakini Petro alikuwa amesimama nje, karibu na mlango. Basi, huyo mwanafunzi mwingine aliyekuwa anajulikana kwa Kuhani Mkuu alitoka nje akasema na mjakazi, mngoja mlango, akamwingiza Petro ndani.
But Peter had stood at the door outside. Went out therefore the disciple other (who *N(k)O*) (was *k*) known (to the high priest *N(k)O*) and spoke to the doorkeeper and brought in Peter.
17 Huyo msichana mngoja mlango akamwuliza Petro, “Je, nawe pia ni mmoja wa wanafunzi wa mtu huyu?” Petro akamwambia, “Si mimi!”
Says therefore to Peter the servant girl the doorkeeper: Surely also you yourself of the disciples are of the man this? Says he; Not I am.
18 Watumishi na walinzi walikuwa wamewasha moto kwa sababu kulikuwa na baridi, wakawa wanaota moto. Naye Petro alikuwa amesimama pamoja nao akiota moto.
Had been standing now the servants and the officers a fire of coals having made, for cold it was and they were warming themselves; Was now (also *no*) Peter with them having stood and warming himself.
19 Basi, Kuhani akamwuliza Yesu juu ya wanafunzi wake na mafundisho yake.
Then the high priest questioned Jesus concerning the disciples of Him and concerning the teaching of Him.
20 Yesu akamjibu, “Nimesema na kila mtu daima hadharani. Kila mara nimefundisha katika masunagogi na Hekaluni, mahali wakutanikiapo Wayahudi wote; na wala sijasema chochote kwa siri.
Answered to him (*k*) Jesus; I myself openly (have spoken *N(k)O*) to the world. I myself always taught in (the *k*) synagogue and in the temple where (all *N(K)O*) the Jews come together, and in secret I spoke not [anything].
21 Kwa nini waniuliza mimi? Waulize wale waliosikia nini niliwaambia. Wao wanajua nilivyosema.”
Why Me (do you ask? do ask *N(k)O*) those having heard what I spoke to them. behold they know what said I myself.
22 Alipokwisha sema hayo mlinzi mmoja aliyekuwa amesimama hapo akampiga kofi akisema, “Je, ndivyo unavyomjibu Kuhani Mkuu?”
These things now of Him having said one already standing by of the officers gave a blow with the palm to Jesus having said; Thus answer You to the high priest?
23 Yesu akamjibu, “Kama nimesema vibaya, onyesha huo ubaya; lakini ikiwa nimesema vema, mbona wanipiga?”
Answered to him (*k*) Jesus; If evil I spoke, do bear witness concerning the evil; if however rightly, why Me strike you?
24 Basi, Anasi akampeleka Yesu akiwa amefungwa, kwa Kuhani Mkuu Kayafa.
Sent then Him Annas bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
25 Petro alikuwa hapo akiota moto. Basi, wakamwuliza, “Je, nawe pia si mmoja wa wanafunzi wake?” Yeye akakana na kusema, “Si mimi!”
Was now Simon Peter already standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him; Surely also you yourself of the disciples of Him are? Denied (therefore *O*) he and said; Not I am.
26 Mmoja wa watumishi wa Kuhani Mkuu, jamaa wa yule aliyekatwa sikio na Petro, akamwuliza, “Je, mimi sikukuona wewe bustanini pamoja naye?”
Says one of the servants of the high priest kinsman being [of him] of whom cut off Peter the ear; Surely I myself you saw in the garden with Him?
27 Petro akakana tena; mara jogoo akawika.
Again then denied (*k*) Peter, and immediately a rooster crowed.
28 Basi, walimchukua Yesu kutoka kwa Kayafa, wakampeleka ikulu. Ilikuwa alfajiri, nao ili waweze kula Pasaka, hawakuingia ndani ya ikulu wasije wakatiwa najisi.
They are leading then Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium; It was now (early. *N(k)O*) and they themselves not entered into the Praetorium so that not they may be defiled but (so that *K*) may eat the Passover.
29 Kwa hiyo, Pilato aliwaendea nje, akasema, “Mna mashtaka gani juu ya mtu huyu?”
Went therefore Pilate (out *NO*) to them and (said; *N(k)O*) What accusation bring you against man this?
30 Wakamjibu, “Kama huyu hangalikuwa mwovu hatungalimleta kwako.”
They answered and they said to him; only except were He (evil *N(K)O*) (doing, *N(k)O*) [then] not would to you we have delivered Him.
31 Pilato akawaambia, “Haya, mchukueni ninyi wenyewe, mkamhukumu kufuatana na Sheria yenu.” Wayahudi wakamjibu, “Sisi hatuna mamlaka ya kumwua mtu yeyote.”
Said therefore to them Pilate; do take Him yourselves and according to the law of you do judge Him. Said (therefore *KO*) to him the Jews; To us not it is permitted to put to death no [one];
32 (Ilifanyika hivyo yapate kutimia maneno aliyosema Yesu kuonyesha atakufa kifo gani.)
that the word of Jesus may be fulfilled which He had spoken signifying as what death He was about to die.
33 Pilato akaingia tena ndani ya ikulu, akamwita Yesu na kumwuliza: “Ati wewe ndiye Mfalme wa Wayahudi?”
Entered therefore again into the Praetorium Pilate and he called Jesus and said to Him; You yourself are the King of the Jews?
34 Yesu akamjibu, “Je, hayo ni maneno yako au wengine wamekwambia habari zangu?”
Answered (to him *k*) Jesus; Of (yourself *N(k)O*) you yourself this say or others did say [it] to you concerning Me?
35 Pilato akamjibu, “Je, ni Myahudi mimi? Taifa lako na makuhani wamekuleta kwangu. Umefanya nini?”
Answered Pilate; surely not ever I myself a Jew am? The nation of You and the chief priests delivered You to me myself; What did You do?
36 Yesu akamjibu, “Ufalme wangu si wa ulimwengu huu. Kama ufalme wangu ungekuwa wa ulimwengu huu watumishi wangu wangenipigania nisitiwe mikononi mwa Wayahudi. Lakini sasa ufalme wangu si wa hapa.”
Answered (*k*) Jesus; The kingdom of Mine not is of world this; if of world this were kingdom of Mine, attendants of Mine they were fighting then would that not I may be betrayed to the Jews; Now however kingdom of Mine not is from here.
37 Hapo Pilato akamwambia, “Basi, wewe ni Mfalme?” Yesu akajibu, “Wewe umesema kwamba mimi ni Mfalme. Mimi nimezaliwa kwa ajili hiyo; na kwa ajili hiyo nimekuja ulimwenguni kuwaambia watu juu ya ukweli. Kila mtu wa ukweli hunisikiliza.”
Said therefore to Him Pilate; Then a king are You yourself? Answered Jesus; You yourself say that a king am (I myself. *k*) I myself for this have been born and for this I have come into the world that I may bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is being of the truth hears My the voice.
38 Pilato akamwambia, “Ukweli ni kitu gani?” Pilato alipokwisha sema hayo, aliwaendea tena Wayahudi nje, akawaambia, “Mimi sioni hatia yoyote kwake.
Says to Him Pilate; What is truth? And this having said again he went out to the Jews and says to them; I myself no [thing] find in Him guilt.
39 Lakini, mnayo desturi kwamba mimi niwafungulie mfungwa mmoja wakati wa Pasaka. Basi, mwataka niwafungulieni Mfalme wa Wayahudi?”
It is however a custom with you that one I may release to you at the Passover; wish you therefore I may release to you the King of the Jews?
40 Hapo wakapiga kelele: “La! Si huyu ila Baraba!” Naye Baraba alikuwa mnyang'anyi.
They cried out then again (all *ko*) saying; Not this one but Barabbas! Was now Barabbas an insurrectionist.
