Wakolosai 3
1 Basi, ikiwa mmefufuka pamoja na Kristo, panieni mambo ya juu, kule Kristo aliko, ameketi upande wa kulia wa Mungu.
If then ye have risen with the Messiah, seek the things on high, where the Messiah sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Muwe na hamu ya mambo ya huko juu, na siyo mambo ya hapa duniani.
Think of things on high; not of the things on earth:
3 Maana ninyi mmekufa na uzima wenu umefichwa pamoja na Kristo katika Mungu.
for ye are dead; and your life is hidden with the Messiah, in God.
4 Uzima wenu halisi ni Kristo, na wakati atakapotokea ndipo nanyi pia mtakapotokea pamoja naye katika utukufu.
And when the Messiah, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also be manifested with him in glory.
5 Basi, komesheni kabisa kila kitu kilicho ndani yenu ambacho chahusika na mambo ya kidunia: uasherati, uchafu, shauku, tamaa mbaya na uchu (ambao ni sawa na kuabudu sanamu).
Mortify therefore your members that are on the earth; whoredom, impurity, and the passions, and evil concupiscence, and avarice which is idolatry.
6 Kwa sababu ya mambo hayo hasira ya Mungu huwajia wote wanaomwasi.
For on account of these things, the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.
7 Wakati mmoja ninyi pia mliishi kufuatana na mambo hayo, mlipotawaliwa nayo.
And in these things ye also formerly walked, when ye lived in them.
8 Lakini sasa mnapaswa kuachana na mambo haya yote: hasira, tamaa, uovu; kufuru au maneno yasiyofaa yasitoke kamwe vinywani mwenu.
But now, put away from you all these, wrath, anger, malice, reviling, filthy talking:
9 Msiambiane uongo, kwani ninyi mmekwisha vua ule utu wa kale pamoja na matendo yake yote,
and lie not one to another; but put off the old man, with all his practices;
10 mkavaa utu mpya. Huu unaendelea kurekebishwa na Mungu, Muumba wake, kadiri ya mfano wake, ili mpate kumjua Mungu kwa ukamilifu.
and put ye on the new man, that is renewed in knowledge, after the likeness of his Creator;
11 Katika hali hii, hakuna tena tofauti kati ya Mgiriki na Myahudi, aliyetahiriwa na asiyetahiriwa, msomi na asiye msomi, mtumwa na mtu aliye huru. Kristo ni kila kitu, na yumo katika yote.
where there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision, neither Greek nor barbarian, neither bond nor free; but the Messiah is all, and in all.
12 Ninyi ni watu wake Mungu; yeye aliwapenda na kuwateua. Kwa hiyo basi, vaeni moyo wa huruma, wema, unyenyekevu, upole na uvumilivu.
Therefore, holy and beloved, as the elect of God, put ye on compassions, and tenderness, and suavity, and humbleness of mind, and gentleness, and long suffering.
13 Vumilianeni na kusameheana iwapo mmoja wenu analo jambo lolote dhidi ya mwenzake. Mnapaswa kusameheana kama Bwana alivyowasamehe ninyi.
And be ye indulgent towards one another, and forgiving to one another: and if any one has a complaint against his neighbor, as the Messiah forgave you, so also do ye forgive.
14 Zaidi ya hayo yote, zingatieni upendo kwani upendo huunganisha kila kitu katika umoja ulio kamili.
And with all these, join love, which is the girdle of perfection.
15 Nayo amani ya Kristo itawale mioyoni mwenu; maana kwa ajili hiyo ninyi mmeitwa katika mwili huo mmoja. Tena muwe na shukrani!
And let the peace of the Messiah direct your hearts; for to that ye have been called, in one body; and be ye thankful to the Messiah.
16 Ujumbe wa Kristo ukae ndani yenu pamoja na utajiri wake wote. Fundishaneni na kushauriana kwa hekima yote. Imbeni zaburi, nyimbo na tenzi za kiroho; mwimbieni Mungu mioyoni mwenu kwa shukrani.
And let his word dwell in you richly, in all wisdom. And teach and admonish yourselves, by psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, and with grace in your hearts sing ye unto God.
17 Na, kila mfanyacho kwa neno au tendo, fanyeni vyote kwa jina la Bwana Yesu na kumshukuru Mungu Baba kwa njia yake.
And whatever ye do in word or act, do it in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, and give thanksgiving through him to God the Father.
18 Enyi akina mama, watiini waume zenu, kwani ndivyo apendavyo Bwana.
Wives, be ye subject to your husbands, as is right in the Messiah.
19 Nanyi waume, wapendeni wake zenu, na msiwe wakali kwao.
Husbands, love ye your wives, and be not bitter towards them.
20 Enyi watoto, watiini wazazi wenu daima maana hiyo humpendeza Bwana.
Children, obey your parents in every thing; for this is pleasing before our Lord.
21 Nanyi wazazi, msiwachukize watoto wenu, la sivyo watakata tamaa.
Parents, anger not your children, lest they be discouraged.
22 Enyi watumwa, watiini wakuu wenu wa kidunia katika mambo yote, na si tu wakati wanapowatazama kwa kuwa mnataka kujipendekeza kwao; ila fanyeni hivyo kwa moyo wote, kwa sababu ya kumcha Bwana.
Servants, obey in all things your bodily masters; not in the sight of the eye only, as those who please men, but with a simple heart, and in the fear of the Lord.
23 Kila mfanyalo, fanyeni kwa moyo wote, kwa sababu ya Bwana na si kwa ajili ya mtu.
And whatever ye do, do it with your whole soul, as unto our Lord, and not as to men:
24 Kumbukeni kwamba atawapeni tuzo lile alilowawekea watu wake. Mtumikieni Kristo Bwana!
and know ye, that from our Lord ye will receive a recompense as the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord the Messiah.
25 Atendaye mabaya atalipwa kufuatana na ubaya wake; Mungu hana ubaguzi.
But the delinquent will receive a recompense, according to the delinquency; and there is no respect of persons.
