2 Timotheo 3
1 Kumbuka kwamba, katika siku za mwisho kutakuwa na nyakati za taabu.
But this know thou, that in the latter days hard times will come:
2 watu watakuwa na ubinafsi, wenye tamaa ya fedha, wenye majivuno, wenye kujiona, wenye kumtukana Mungu, wasiowatii wazazi wao, wasio na shukrani na waovu;
and men will be lovers of themselves, and lovers of money, boasters, proud, censorious, unyielding towards their own people, denyers of grace, wicked,
3 watatokea watu wasio na upendo moyoni, wasio na huruma, wachongezi, walafi na wakali; watachukia chochote kilicho chema;
calumniators, addicted to concupiscence, ferocious, haters of the good,
4 watakuwa wahaini, wakaidi na waliojaa kiburi; watapenda anasa kuliko kumpenda Mungu.
treacherous, rash, inflated, attached to pleasure more than to the love of God,
5 Kwa nje wataonekana kama watu wenye kumcha Mungu, lakini wataikana nguvu yake. Jiepushe kabisa na watu wa namna hiyo.
having a form of respect for God, but wide from the power of God. Them who are such, repel from thee.
6 Baadhi yao huenda katika nyumba za watu na huwateka wanawake dhaifu waliolemewa mizigo ya dhambi na ambao wanaongozwa na tamaa za kila aina;
For of them are they who creep into this and that house, and captivate the women who are plunged in sins and led away by divers lusts,
7 wanawake ambao wanajaribu daima kujifunza lakini hawawezi kuufikia ujuzi wa huo ukweli.
who are always learning, and can never come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Watu hao huupinga ukweli kama vile Yane na Yambre walivyompinga Mose.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also do these withstand the truth: men whose mind is corrupted, and they reprobates from the faith.
9 Lakini hawataweza kuendelea zaidi kwa maana upumbavu wao utaonekana wazi kwa wote. Ndivyo ilivyokuwa kwa akina Yane na Yambre.
But they will not make progress, for their infatuation will be understood by every one, as theirs also was understood.
10 Wewe lakini, umeyafuata mafundisho yangu, mwenendo wangu, makusudi yangu katika maisha, imani yangu, uvumilivu wangu, upendo wangu, subira yangu,
But thou hast followed after my doctrine, and my manner of life, and my aims, and my faith, and my long suffering, and my love, and my patience,
11 udhalimu na mateso yangu. Unayajua mambo yaliyonipata huko Antiokia, Ikonio na Lustra. Nilivumilia udhalimu mkubwa mno! Lakini Bwana aliniokoa katika mambo hayo yote.
and my persecution, and my sufferings. And thou knowest what I endured at Antioch, and at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecution I endured: and from all these my Lord delivered me.
12 Kila mtu anayetaka kuishi maisha ya kumcha Mungu katika kuungana na Kristo Yesu lazima adhulumiwe.
And likewise all, who choose to live in the fear of God, in Jesus the Messiah, will be persecuted.
13 Watu waovu na wadanyanyifu watazidi kuwa waovu zaidi na zaidi kwa kuwadanganya wengine na kudanganyika wao wenyewe.
But evil and seducing men will add to their wickedness, while they deceive and are deceived.
14 Lakini wewe dumu katika ukweli ule uliofundishwa, ukaukubali kabisa. Unawajua wale waliokuwa walimu wako.
But continue thou in the things thou hast learned and been assured of; for thou knowest from whom thou learnedst;
15 Unakumbuka kwamba tangu utoto wako umeyajua Maandiko Matakatifu ambayo yaweza kukupatia hekima iletayo wokovu kwa njia ya imani kwa Kristo Yesu.
because from thy childhood, thou wast taught the holy books, which can make thee wise unto life, by faith in Jesus the Messiah.
16 Maandiko yote Matakatifu yameandikwa kwa uongozi wa Mungu, na yanafaa katika kufundishia ukweli, kuonya, kusahihisha makosa, na kuwaongoza watu waishi maisha adili,
All scripture that was written by the Spirit, is profitable for instruction, and for confutation, and for correction, and for erudition in righteousness;
17 ili mtu anayemtumikia Mungu awe mkamilifu, na tayari kabisa kufanya kila tendo jema.
that the man of God may become perfect, and complete for every good work.
