1 Wakorintho 6
1 Anathubutuje mmoja wenu kumshtaki ndugu muumini mbele ya mahakama ya watu wasiomjua Mungu badala ya kumshtaki mbele ya watu wa Mungu?
Dare any of you, having a matter against another, be judged by the unrighteous, and not by the saints?
2 Je, hamjui kwamba watu wa Mungu watauhukumu ulimwengu? Ikiwa basi, ulimwengu utahukumiwa nanyi, kwa nini hamstahili kuhukumu hata katika mambo madogo?
Do you not know that the saints are to judge with world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you unworthy to decide your petty causes?
3 Je, hamjui kwamba, licha ya kuhukumu mambo ya kawaida ya kila siku, tutawahukumu hata malaika?
Do you not know that we are to judge messengers? Why not, then, things pertaining to this life?
4 Mnapokuwa na mizozo juu ya mambo ya kawaida, je, mnawaita wawe mahakimu watu ambao hata hawalijali kanisa?
If, then, you have the cognizance of such matters, why do you set those to judge who are of no account in the congregation?
5 Aibu kwenu! Ndiyo kusema hakuna hata mmoja miongoni mwenu mwenye hekima kiasi cha kuweza kutatua tatizo kati ya ndugu waumini?
For shame to you I say it! So, then, there is not among you a wise man; not even one, who shall be able to decide between his brethren!
6 Badala yake, kweli imekuwa mtindo ndugu kumpeleka ndugu yake mahakamani, tena mbele ya mahakimu wasioamini.
But brother with brother is judged, and that by infidels!
7 Kwa kweli huko kushtakiana tu wenyewe kwa wenyewe kwabainisha kwamba mmeshindwa kabisa! Je, haingekuwa jambo bora zaidi kwenu kudhulumiwa! Haingekuwa bora zaidi kwenu kunyang'anywa mali yenu?
Now, therefore, indeed, there is plainly a fault in you, that you have law-suits with one another. Why do you not rather bear the being defrauded?
8 Lakini, badala yake, ninyi ndio mnaodhulumu na kunyang'anya; tena, hayo mnawafanyia ndugu zenu!
But you injure and defraud; and that, too, your own brethren.
9 Au je, hamjui kwamba watu wabaya hawataurithi Utawala wa Mungu? Msijidanganye! Watu wanaoishi maisha ya uasherati, wanaoabudu sanamu, wazinzi, au walawiti,
Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor catamites, nor sodomites,
10 wevi, wachoyo, walevi, wasengenyaji, wanyang'anyi, hao wote hawatashiriki Utawala wa Mungu.
nor thieves, nor misers, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Baadhi yenu mlikuwa hivyo; lakini sasa mmeoshwa, mkafanywa watakatifu, na kupatanishwa na Mungu kwa jina la Bwana Yesu Kristo na kwa Roho wa Mungu wetu.
And such were some of you; but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified, by the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
12 Mtu anaweza kusema: “Kwangu mimi kila kitu ni halali.” Sawa; lakini si kila kitu kinafaa. Nakubali kwamba kila kitu ni halali kwangu lakini sitaki kutawaliwa na kitu chochote.
All meats are lawful for me to eat, but all are not proper: all meats are lawful for me to eat; but I will not be enslaved by any meat.
13 Unaweza kusema: “Chakula ni kwa ajili ya tumbo, na tumbo ni kwa ajili ya chakula.” Sawa; lakini Mungu ataviharibu vyote viwili. Mwili wa mtu si kwa ajili ya uzinzi bali ni kwa ajili ya kumtumikia Bwana, naye Bwana ni kwa ajili ya mwili.
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats; however, God will destroy both it and them. Now, the body was not made for uncleanness, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body:
14 Basi, Mungu aliyemfufua Bwana kutoka wafu atatufufua nasi pia kwa nguvu yake.
and God has both raised the Lord, and will raise up us by his own power.
15 Je, hamjui kwamba miili yenu ni viungo vya mwili wa Kristo? Je, mnadhani naweza kuchukua sehemu ya mwili wa Kristo na kuifanya kuwa sehemu ya mwili wa kahaba? Hata kidogo!
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall, I, then, take the members of Christ and make them the members of a harlot? By no means.
16 Maana, kama mjuavyo, anayeungana na kahaba huwa mwili mmoja naye—kama ilivyoandikwa: “Nao wawili watakuwa mwili mmoja.”
What! do you not know that he who is strongly attached to a harlot is one body? for he says, "The two shall be one flesh."
17 Lakini aliyejiunga na Bwana huwa roho moja naye.
But he, who is strongly attached to the Lord, is one spirit.
18 Jiepusheni kabisa na uzinzi. Dhambi nyingine zote hutendwa nje ya mwili lakini mzinzi hutenda dhambi dhidi ya mwili wake mwenyewe.
Flee uncleanness. Every sin which a man commits, is without the body: but he who commits uncleanness, sins against his own body.
19 Je, hamjui kwamba miili yenu ni hekalu la Roho Mtakatifu aliye ndani yenu, ambaye mlimpokea kutoka kwa Mungu? Ninyi basi, si mali yenu wenyewe.
What! do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God?
20 Mlinunuliwa kwa bei kubwa. Kwa hiyo, itumieni miili yenu kwa ajili ya kumtukuza Mungu.
Besides, you are not your own; for you are bought with a price: therefore, with your body glorify God.
